In the grandest palace of Polar Day City, Maple Syrup finally finished the mountain of paperwork that had kept her awake for days since the "Card Swap" game.
She changed into her favorite black silk robe, opened a precious bottle of wine she'd been saving, and had just closed her eyes to forget about the war for a while—
[Warning, warning! BlueStar Adjudicator has descended! BlueStar Adjudicator has descended!]
[Warning, warning! BlueStar Adjudicator has descended! BlueStar Adjudicator has descended!]
[Warning, warning! BlueStar Adjudicator has descended! BlueStar Adjudicator has descended!]
Maple Syrup: "..."
The same thing happened in Four Seasons City, Eternal Night Fortress, Moonfox City, and Dark City.
Every Lania Kaia leader who had just lain down opened their eyes in perfect unison, staring blankly at the ceiling with the same expressionless look of silent exhaustion.
In the Divine Game battlefield chat:
[Lania Kaia Mistblade]: BS-Rita! Next time you visit Lania Kaia, can you not do it in the middle of the night?
[MarmangCrab]: What's she done now?
[Lania Kaia Pine Bloom]: When an Adjudicator descends to another world, the system announces it to the entire realm.
[Lania Kaia Wither Monarch]: And it announces it three times.
[MarmangCrab]: Wait, so she really is the Adjudicator? I thought Winter Sea's Frenzied Shark was joking!
[Lania Kaia Fat Goose]: That's not the point! The point is, I just came out of a game and have been working for eight straight days without sleep. I just closed my eyes—
[BS-Rita]: Dawn has already invaded and you people are still in the mood to sleep? If I were you, I couldn't sleep even if I wanted to!
[Lania Kaia Maple Syrup]: Come to Polar Day City. We need to talk.
[BS-Rita]: Dawn's invading, and you still want to chat with me?
[MarmangCrab]: I can't even watch this anymore. How do they put up with her?
[TingoJE]: Seriously! She's infuriating.
[Dawn-Cicada]: Aren't you afraid? Once Dawn takes Lania Kaia, you're next.
Although the messages were scattered, everyone could tell Dawn-Cicada's words were aimed directly at Rita.
But something about that line was strange.
Shouldn't it be "Once Dawn takes Lania Kaia, BlueStar is next"? Why say you're next?
A slip of the tongue? Maybe. But an awfully specific one.
Rita decided to ask directly.
[BS-Rita]: Why did you say I'm next instead of BlueStar?
But Dawn-Cicada vanished as suddenly as she had appeared, leaving no answer behind.
The abrupt silence killed any interest Rita had in staying. After collecting a round of moonlight, she left Lania Kaia.
...
By the end of November, when Rita drew her third attack skill from the console game, it was already time for the next Divine Game.
She was slightly disappointed not to get a special skill, but all three of her new attack skills were SSS-tier, taken from players around the 15th combat tier. It was enough to patch up her lack of offensive magic.
She left the backyard full of cats in Calico's care. Despite its wanderlust, the vice-captain still obeyed the Cat's Ideal's orders—begrudgingly, but faithfully.
As the Divine Game entry time approached, Rita used her honor points to buy a random Mahjong tile from the Honor Shop. Luck was with her this time—it was an [East Wind], one of the tiles she still needed.
Though the "Card Swap" game hadn't cost her any Divine Energy, the BlueStar War and her prolonged battle with Lania Kaia's leaders had drained a lot. She had only 15,821 points left. She needed to conserve them wherever she could.
With the help of her capsule machine, which ignored standard game restrictions, she could bring in any item or tool she wished. Compared to other items, the wind tiles that allowed her to carry skills into battle were far more valuable.
At 11:50 p.m., Rita sent both Nivalis and B8017913 back into the pet space. She took out her World Graveyard token and summoned the Divine Game entrance.
Then she inserted one [1-Bamboo] tile and twenty other world fragments into the admission slot.
That was the ticket price for nightmare-tier players.

Every necessary item and artifact was packed into her capsule machine, which now hung around her neck.
A total of six skills and two Divine Gifts could be unlocked.
She stuck to her usual priorities—favoring passive skills and abilities that required frequent use to minimize Divine Energy drain.
Her selections were:
[Midnight Exile], [Absurd Story], [School Rule No. 801], [The Wind Doesn't Speak], [Send Me the Link], and [I Just Want to Improve So Badly].
Nivalis and B8017913 had made their choices as well.
The familiar falling sensation came. The familiar glass cube appeared.
Once she landed in the starting chamber, Rita handed the block-like "BS-Rita" construct to B8017913. She had already tested it—if she didn't store it inside the capsule machine, it would still count as an individual item slot.
The game hadn't started yet; the rules and objectives were still pending. Rita walked to the glass wall and peered outside.
Endless transparent cubes stretched beyond sight, stacked neatly in a labyrinth of mirrored rooms.
According to B8017913, if a particular Divine Game had an unusual time flow—lasting longer than two months—then any players not participating in that match wouldn't lose their qualification for inactivity.
However, those skipped days still counted toward the interval. The exemption only postponed the penalty. Those players would be forced into the next match—no exceptions.
In other words, everyone who hadn't joined "Card Swap" would be entering this Divine Game.
And if her guess was right, this time, she would be facing every single leader from Lania Kaia.
