Lady Pelica picked Karathra as the object of her attention that night.
But before she did anything, she took something else out of her spatial ring. It was a goggle that was heavily inscribed with enchantment diagrams and runes.
The glass of the goggle was made of some violent material that completely obscured her eyes when she put it on.
"Now I am ready. I learned my lesson last time when I saw what I should not have seen," Lady Pelica murmured.
The blood mist around the coffin intensified.
At the same time, what Lady Pelica was seeing changed. The room disappeared and was replaced by another room. The fearsome barbarian master slept on her bed, snoring lightly.
The blood-searching relic that was now a war axe hovered above her. It was through this relic that Lady Pelica was seeing and operating. The war axe swung up and down above Karathra, hitting her directly in the head....but it did not split her head apart or draw blood.
It was as if the axe had turned into something intangible as it simply went straight into her skull.
The next moment, something else happened. Images began to flicker above Karathra's head like an open book. Different images, flipping so hard it was hard to see.
But Lady Pelica could see it quite easily. She could read them. From the moment Karathra was born to the time she began learning how to be a proper slave hurling carriages because of her strength.
Lady Pelica read about her alcoholic father who spent every penny he managed to touch on alcohol and totally neglected his daughter. Only very happy when it was time to sell her to one of the Lady's contacts.
She read through the journey in Stronghide and how she was secretly trained.
She read and read until the time Galthor returned to the Revolutionary base as a changed barbarian and the suspicions that Karathra felt.
To the hunting of the cursed monster. She read everything until she was done.
The relic went back to its resting place beside Karathra and everything returned to normal.
"Well, that was interesting," Lady Pelica mused. "Karathra did not truly believe Galthor is Galthor anymore, she thought he must be possessed but she was willing to trust and follow him because he is the only hope she has seen in her life."
Han nodded. "That makes sense. It would make more sense that he was possessed. Logical, people do not change like this. They just do not suddenly wake up and start doing things contrary to what they have been doing.
"Change takes time. But from the information we have gathered, he changed so effortlessly."
Lady Pelica nodded. "If he is indeed possessed, then I will take out that spirit and interrogate it so thoroughly. Why was it able to perform miracles like that?"
"Just be careful mistress, it must be a strong spirit to be able to pull all of this off."
Lady Pelica tapped her enchanted goggle. "I have something really interesting here. Now, shall we see what creature is in Galthor Stronghide?"

When Karathra's relic invaded her mind, Galthor became aware in that moment. He was sleeping but alarm bells in his mind woke him up.
He put a lot of relevance into his masters and as such, he made both their prayers and connections a direct affair. So when something strange happened, he became aware of it.
"So this Lady Pelica made her moves after all. Did she really think we are dumb?" Galthor frowned as he sat up on his bed. "I already knew you were after something. You want to know what I am."
Galthor expected what she did. He just did not expect her to move that fast. What he did not understand though, was the level of threat that she represented.
He would not lie, he was both hasty in accepting her deal just because he wanted a strong connection to the outside world. And it would be good to have an ally as well.
He directly sank into his own consciousness.
Instantly several bright lights swarmed his eyes, each light representing one of his worshippers. He went towards Karathra and LOOKED at her.
His God eyes fell on her.
But to his surprise, he found nothing strange about her. She was even sleeping peacefully.
"This...what did she do then?"
With another wave of his hand, the red light that represented Karathra floated closer and landed in his consciousness head. "Oh? So she did something like this."
"She looked through your memories. Let us see... oh... poor girl, you really went through a lot, did you not? Wait... what? You think I am possessed and yet you are willing to follow me so wholeheartedly?"
Galthor remained silent for a while.
He knew for a while now that he could go through the memories of his worshippers. But it was the first time he would be trying it all out.
It just felt so invasive to him and he only decided to do it if there was an actual reason to.
"What a strange barbarian you are, Karathra."
He turned his attention to the work at hand. "I see. So you focused on me right? Lady Pelica, I was right, you want to know what I am. But I am also curious. What do you want to do with the information you gain through me?"
Galthor was still in subconscious form.
He looked at the red lights that crowded his eyes and he waved them down, making them smaller while he floated above. Coincidentally, or maybe it was his mind, his subconscious form was sitting atop a mountain and everything around him was dark and still like a dark sea.
He went silent for a while.
"If this is my mind, then the memories of the barbarian god that is in me should be here somewhere right? That is why my mind is the strongest thing about me."
He waved his hand and the dark sea suddenly churned. It parted on both sides as something suddenly appeared so far below. A gate of some kind.
Galthor snorted to himself. "Do we not already know what is down there?"
