MMORPG: Rebirth of the Legendary TimeKeeper

Chapter 67: One Week

The following days were slow as I worked at my part-time job, did some moderate running, played Arcadia and studied for the upcoming exam. Since I had time, I also looked into the information of Ciana Grace, Damian White and Evan Castro that lived in the nearby area.

Starting with the Part-Time jobs, I became quite famous in the apartment for fixing people's electronic goods for a cheap price. Starting with laptops, mobiles, some people even called me to fix their mixers and electronics. Good thing I learned a lot of things back in the day and not just limited myself to smartphones.

Still. I had no idea that I would be using those skills like this. I was amused at that thought.

There were many home calls as well. Surprisingly, even though I said I would charge triple for home-services, they didn't seem to mind at all. Instead, they were quite grateful that I was doing this much for them.

I even thought of increasing the prices. Not because I wanted more money, but because I wanted to limit the number of customers that I was getting. But then, thinking about those in the apartment, I thought that it won't be long until all the electronics are fixed with little for me to do. Hence, I continued doing so at the same pace as before.

All in all, it earned me $850 in the last 5 days, enough funds for me to prepare a couple of things for the upcoming ball party.

But that was not all. I even got a customer for the website creation job. He asked me to create a quite complex website that required a bit more than your average code to perform. It was related to a study-centered platform that also had a habit tracker, question banks, and a few other accessories that would bring out the best of the website.

Given the complexity, I then divided the entire thing into sections, pricing all the sections differently before showing it to the guy. The total cost of the website creation reached $1270, more than double of what I initially planned my max to be.

"So cheap!!"

Is what I heard from the other side when I gave out the price, which he accepted in a pinch, worrying that I would take the offer back. While I asked for half the price as an advance, he gave me all of it, asking me to create it to the best of my ability. Made me wonder if it was a kid on the other side.

Doesn't really matter. I thought before spending 3 hours each for the next two days creating his website and then giving the address, the code, the username and the password to him. Once again, surprising him that I could do it that fast.

So the total earning reached $2120, which was about twice as much as mother makes in a week in one of her jobs.

I think Mom makes about $12,000 per month doing 2, 8-hour jobs. Perhaps if I can somewhat grow the website business and take a small amount of money from Arcadia, I can help her quit at least one of her jobs? I contemplated this idea as I wanted to reduce Mom's burden as fast as possible without making her life anymore complicated.

Within the game, nothing much happened either.

Because Trisha's class [Porter] was a vital class in the game that had 10 times the inventory as any other player, taking her in was the most practical choice. Other than that, I also taught them how to hunt weaker enemies, how to use the environment against the enemies and, more importantly, how to protect yourself in case you run into a dangerous foe.

Since their level was still below 15, I couldn't bring them to take the herb collection quest, hence I spent the rest of my time learning a few more [Original Skills] while improving them to at least Advanced level. I even evolved [Glow] into [Fire], which had a bit more lasting impact and minor damage, but that was all I could do for now.

Repeating the same thing many times over, I would log out by the evening in the game. I would then either work on more electronics that I had to fix, or search for the people that I was looking out for.

Ciana Grace was a 15-year-old middle school girl studying about half a dozen blocks away from here, while Evan Castro was the name of a child no more than 11-months-old. As for Damian White, he was a 63-year-old man working as a salaryman in a private company that made bicycles.

I also collected information about their parents, children and relatives. The problems that they are currently facing and how to solve them, and if possible, search and find out if they are the same person that I am searching for.

Man, this hardcore difficulty is something else. Even if I were to get the correct people, how am I supposed to know that they are right now? Should I just focus on 'Charles Richard'? That way, I can take his help to find the others as well. I thought before shaking my head, rejecting that idea.

The closest 'Charles Richard' was at least 50km away. It would take too much time to travel and come back. With so much on my plate, it would be difficult to do that right now.

Other than that, I ran at the same time every day on the same path but did not encounter Fredricka again. I increased my pace somewhat while maintaining the same distance of 2 miles in both directions with a 20-minute break. From next week after I return from the ball, I plan to run an extra mile while adding some in-between exercises like upper body sets and lower body sets.

Later, I also need to find a place to practice sword moves. I thought about it, but it was something that needed to be as discreet as possible. Not in the immediate future, I guess?

Along with that, I was also feeding the orange cat everyday now.

A few more days and I can make a familiar-pact with him. I chuckled at the idiotic thought before packing my bag, as I had done recalling all the things that had happened in the past few days.

"Go give your best in the test, Son!!" Mom cheered me up while feeding me a small sweet that she bought from the market. Eating that down, I smiled as I answered,

"I am going to ace it, Mom!"

I didn't tell Mom what kind of test I was going to give. Just that Daniel has recommended me to one of her family members for a test for the recommendation. And since there was a chance, I wanted to give it a shot. I didn't tell her the specifications for the test either. Just that it will be a surprise test of sorts.

Mom smiled at me as I wore a proper formal white shirt over black pants while wearing a light jacket over it. Putting on the glasses and wearing the golden-black watch that my father left behind in his legacy, I then stepped out of the house. My mom looked at me with pride in her eyes.

I waved at her with a smile before moving out of the house, taking the bus to the Sifa Market again. Though this time, I went into a deeper section where there were more men than women present.

It was the red light district of the city, where the worst of the worst lurked. And then, about 5 minutes later, finding the white BMV car that I was looking for, I put on the feathered white-mask that I had bought yesterday.

Moving towards the car, I knocked thrice on the window, making Silva turn at me before opening the door.

"You really are pulling this through, huh?" She spoke as she saw my appearance before smiling and then pulling a bag from the middle seat.

"Here are your additional clothes and accessories that you asked for," she added as she passed me the bag before starting the car.

I nodded without speaking a single word as I checked the items in the bag. A smile formed on my face as I found everything in place there, making me sigh in relief before I put on a serious expression again.

It was about time I took the first step towards my revenge.
