Chapter 85 – Thunder Wolf

The next morning, Crowne had already arrived near the exit gate of Doomsty City. The general and the promised carriage were already there. Crowne was ready to depart. He immediately climbed up, but when he was about to step into the carriage, Crowne frowned.

"Why are you two here?" Crowne complained.

Daisy and Lina scratched their heads. They had arrived there even before Crowne. Seeing that, Crowne turned to the general who had prepared all of this. But the general only lifted both shoulders.

Crowne let out a long sigh. He climbed onto the carriage, accepting what had already happened. He really wanted to chase the two girls away, but that would be troublesome. He preferred not to do that.

"This will be a slightly troublesome journey," Crowne thought.

The carriage began to move. The general of Doomsty City saluted at Crowne. He waved until Crowne was no longer visible. Crowne's journey had begun.

**

The carriage slowly rolled out of the Doomsty gate, its wheels creating a rhythmic sound that blended with the morning breeze. Crowne leaned back on his seat, hoping this trip could be quiet… it should have been like that.

But of course, his hope shattered in three seconds.

"I brought snacks!" Daisy shouted while lifting a large bag filled with something that strangely produced a suspicious smell.

"I brought the route map," Lina added while unfolding a long scroll that almost slapped Crowne's face.

Crowne closed his eyes. "...I did not ask."

But the two girls did not care. They sat next to each other with enthusiasm like they were going on a family picnic. The carriage moved steadily along the quiet dirt road, but the atmosphere inside became more and more lively. The two girls talked endlessly.

They even shared their personal lives throughout the trip. Even things that did not need to be told were exposed without hesitation. Crowne even ended up knowing the size of both girls' breasts and that both of them once thought they were boys when they were little.

About their father and mother who loved them so much. About how they were bought delicious food once every month. About their allergy to shrimp and crabs. Many things they talked about as if there was no limit between what should and should not be told.

"... when Lina was little, she once peeked at a boy who was bathing. Is that not..."

"Sister! I think you do not need to say that," Lina scolded.

"It was just the past. There is nothing to be bothered about," Daisy said, defending herself.

"In that case, I will say what you did last night in the room. I heard everything," Lina threatened.

Daisy's face immediately turned red. Her eyes quickly looked the other way. She even fell silent. She moved to the seat opposite Lina and Crowne.

"You do not want me to say it, right? So stop revealing my embarrassing stories to Crowne," Lina warned.

Daisy nodded. "Ah, fine," she answered briefly.

The situation became awkward. It made the atmosphere even quieter than before. Crowne felt this was the perfect moment to rest. He was just about to close his eyes when suddenly the carriage shook violently.

"W-What was that?!" Daisy quickly turned around.

Crowne instantly opened his eyes and looked forward. "What is going on?" Crowne asked.

The coachman glanced back. "There is a monster, sir."

Crowne stepped forward and narrowed his eyes. He saw many beasts in front of them. They were Thunder Wolves, recognisable from the lightning-shaped patterns on their fur and their horns. The eyes of the Thunder Wolves were glowing red.

"Thunder Wolves..." Crowne muttered. "On the main road? This is strange."

Thunder Wolves were beasts that loved forests because their main food was there. But now they were on a main road that was dry and without any trees at all. This road was considered barren and without water.

This was a place Thunder Wolves should not inhabit, and their eyes were supposed to be blue, not red.

"What is this? Something must have happened," Crowne said.

He jumped off the carriage, followed by Lina and Daisy. They drew their weapons. Daisy unsheathed her sword, Lina held her magic staff, and Crowne brought out his Dwarfwood Chainblade.

"Is this not strange?" Daisy asked with a serious face.

Crowne nodded slightly. "Right. Thunder Wolves should not be here. It is like someone sent them."

"Sent by someone? Who would do that?"

Crowne shook his head. He did not know either, but he suspected the hooded figure who had targeted him earlier. But Silvara was chasing that person. That hooded figure should not have had the chance to do this.

Crowne was truly unsure who did this. But no matter who it was, he would handle it. He raised his hand and aimed it toward the group of Thunder Wolves.

[Taming failed!]

[Target already has a master!]

Crowne's suspicion was correct. They were controlled by someone and intentionally sent to attack him. But he did not know who or for what reason.

"AuuuuOOOOHHHH!!"

The howl of a Thunder Wolf echoed loudly. The others followed. At that moment, their bodies became surrounded with strong lightning energy. They were ready to attack.

One of the largest Thunder Wolves stepped forward, its red eyes shining with rage, as if it hated Crowne's existence.

Daisy tightened her grip on her sword. "Do not let your guard down!"

"ZZZRAASSS!"

A burst of lightning shot toward Crowne. But Daisy quickly slashed it apart. Her hands trembled because the lightning current struck her arms.

"Are you alright?" Crowne asked.

Daisy nodded. "It is nothing. A small thing. Step back! Let us handle this," Daisy said.

Lina nodded. "You stay still and just watch our fight."

The sisters suddenly became so full of spirit and teamwork. They did this to repay Crowne's kindness. Without Crowne, they would not be where they were now. This was their way to repay him.

"Are you two sure?" Crowne asked.

Lina and Daisy turned to him. They both nodded. "Believe in us!" they said together.

Zzraaaass!

Another lightning bolt fired. This time Lina used her magic. She created a water shield and managed to block the attack.

At the same time, Daisy dashed forward and attacked. She targeted the weakest Thunder Wolf first, but the Thunder Wolves would not allow that. They attacked Daisy with various strikes, protecting one another.

Lina supported her sister from a distance, using her water magic. They worked together extremely well. Lina kept protecting her sister. She even managed to launch attacks toward the Thunder Wolves.

"Sister, fall back!" Lina shouted.

Daisy immediately retreated. At the same moment, Lina created dozens of water spears and fired them toward one Thunder Wolf that was cornered by Daisy.

Tuuush!

Pierced!

Blood dripped from the Thunder Wolf's body. Lina and Daisy smiled proudly. They had successfully injured a Thunder Wolf.

"Thank you," Daisy said.

"It is nothing. Come on, let us do it again!" Lina said.

Daisy nodded confidently. "Of course."
