[Eye of Medusa activated!]
"Now!" shouted Crowne.
Sylvara immediately fired a highly concentrated water laser. It shot out at an incredible speed and struck King Kraken's body. The explosion shattered its form, but it instantly regenerated. Crowne clicked his tongue in frustration.
"He can still heal himself?"
This wasn't what Crowne had expected. Apparently, King Kraken's regeneration still worked even when it was away from water. Unlike the other monsters Crowne had fought before.
Whoosh!
A sharp slicing sound suddenly tore through the air, "SHHHRAAAT!"
A high-pressure water jet blasted from the right side, cutting through the air at a speed almost invisible to the eye. Crowne froze in shock. His eyes widened, body stiffened. But a split second before the shot pierced his chest, his body moved on its own.
Crash!
Crowne barely managed to react. He twisted his body at the last second, but the blast still tore through his right shoulder, leaving a bleeding hole that kept gushing blood. Crowne gritted his teeth in pain but forced himself to stand.
"Argh!"
He looked toward the source of the attack, and there it was—King Kraken glaring back at him. The creature's massive body writhed, its tentacles continuously firing more pressurized blasts. One second later, another jet shot toward Crowne, but this time he was ready.
Cling!
The magical shot was deflected by Crowne. At the same time, the wounds on his body began to heal slowly. He glanced to the side and nodded.
"Thanks," said Crowne.
"It is my duty, Master," replied Doran.
Crowne prepared to continue the battle. He was still unsure what kind of method could possibly defeat a creature even larger than a mountain. His own body was like a speck of dust compared to King Kraken. The fact that he had survived this long was already a miracle.
Sylvara shouted from afar, "Master, are you alright?"
Crowne nodded. "Yes," he answered.
He dashed toward King Kraken, avoiding several monsters blocking his way. Some of Crowne's summoned beasts rushed in to keep the enemies from interfering.
Another water laser blasted toward him. Crowne spun his dagger, channeling Mana through it, then hurled it straight at the beam. The laser scattered in midair. Crowne continued running until he reached the massive creature.
He looked up. It was like staring at a mountain-sized octopus towering above him.
Jump!
Crowne snapped his fingers. In an instant, something emerged beneath him—a golem from before. The golem immediately hurled his body upward.
Tentacles swung toward him. Crowne threw his dagger again, using it as a grip to swing between the tentacles and avoid their attacks.
Within seconds, he reached the creature's abdomen. Three tentacles lashed toward him, but two of them were shot down by Sylvara's water lasers.
Crowne turned and nodded. "Thanks!"
More tentacles hammered from all directions. Some he dodged, others were intercepted by Sylvara's attacks.
King Kraken was being overwhelmed by Crowne and Sylvara's relentless assault. Its focus was divided.
"Human, I will kill you," King Kraken growled.
Crowne didn't respond. He kept climbing up the monster's massive body.
Slam!
A tentacle struck him. He managed to summon Doran's power, forming a barrier of darkness to block the hit, but the pressure was overwhelming.
Crack!
The barrier shattered.
Crowne clicked his tongue softly. "Damn it. This is bad."
Doran's voice echoed in his head. "Master, use that power."
Crowne took a deep breath. A dark aura began emanating from his body, wrapping around him like armor.
Thin black scales appeared along his arms. His eyes turned black, pupils becoming vertical like those of a dragon.
[Black Dragon Mode - Armor Dragon!]
Crowne blocked the tentacle's strike with one hand, while the other clung to the dagger stabbed into King Kraken's flesh.
He channeled Mana throughout his body, pushed the tentacle back, and leaped upward. Then he slashed downward.
Slash!
Boom!
The tentacle was knocked down. Crowne's body was thrown upward. He flipped midair, threw his dagger again, and when it embedded into the Kraken's skin, he pulled himself toward it.
Whack!
Another tentacle strike barely missed him. Crowne was now halfway up the monster's body.
"Damn it. Still a long way to go," he muttered.
[Eye of Medusa activated!]
BOOM!
A powerful blast struck King Kraken's face. At that very moment, Crowne leapt forward. He hurled his dagger again, and Sylvara caught it.
"Throw me!" shouted Crowne.
She spun and hurled him toward King Kraken's face. He shot forward at blinding speed. Tentacles swung again, but the smoke from the explosion earlier obscured King Kraken's vision.
Using his agility, Crowne swung from one tentacle to another until he reached right in front of the creature's face.
"This... is it," he whispered.
A system window appeared before his eyes. The glowing panel displayed the menu he had prepared earlier.
[Element: Water]
[Cost: 10,000 Market Points]
[Element: Fire]
[Cost: 10,000 Market Points]
[Purchase: Yes. No.]
Without hesitation, he selected both.
Crowne's body glowed, and that wasn't all. He did something more.
[Skill Learning by Experience - Level Up]
Swiftly, Crowne combined the three options. He already imagined what kind of skill he wanted to create. He raised his hand toward King Kraken.
[Mistflare Cataclysm created!]
Instantly, fire and water magic collided, producing thick mist that enveloped King Kraken's face.
"Perfect!" said Crowne. He turned toward Sylvara. "Assist me!"
Sylvara moved closer, conjuring dozens of giant watery hands that restrained King Kraken's tentacles.
The creature couldn't move. At the same time, Crowne had already begun channeling his ultimate technique.
[Oblivion Surge created!]
Crowne raised his sword high. All his Mana gathered into that single attack. Three elements fused into one.
The air around them turned unnaturally still. Crowne focused his entire being.
"Die!" he shouted.
As he swung his blade, an incredibly destructive slash erupted. But at that same moment, King Kraken's tentacles broke free from Sylvara's grasp and lunged toward Crowne.
BAANG!
BOOOM!
The explosion was massive. The sea and the land trembled violently. Waves crashed down below.
"Did it work?" Sylvara whispered. Her eyes widened. "Impossi—"
