The Ancestor of All Demons

Chapter 612: 499 Return to one's hometown in silken robes_2

Wu Xing had no real affection for Ni Lanxin despite their several nights of pleasure, aware that she was fickle like water and that men like him were a dime a dozen in her life.

He knew that Ni Lanxin was the only successor of Lady Tianyao and the sworn daughter of Daoist Huang Zhong. Rumor had it that she had a dalliance with Daoist Huang Zhong, and having been carefully taught by both, her Mana was strong. Yet she was reportedly sealed and rendered as ordinary as a mortal, indicating she was not to be trifled with. So, Wu Xing chose not to act; instead, he left Little Chan in the cave, persuading and cajoling her to become his disciple.

Little Chan had been envious of the Immortal Law, and seeing the opportunity, she coyly agreed.

At first, she worried about Ni Lanxin, but Wu Xing assured her that Ni Lanxin had a very powerful master and mentor, who needed no concern from others. They should just enjoy their lives, and so Little Chan settled down, living a blissful life under her master Wu Xing.

Eight years flashed by, and Little Chan had mastered swordsmanship and forged a new Magical Treasure. Suddenly struck by a desire to visit her hometown and enjoy a triumphant return, she shared her plans with Wu Xing. Wu Xing predicted, "There is a person of ten generations of goodness born in your hometown. If you can capture him and incorporate him into my Piercing Heart Sword, it would instantly make me the strongest in all of Wuxia!"

He instructed Little Chan to go ahead and discreetly inquire about the tenth-generation good person while he would follow with his disciples shortly after.

In Little Chan's eyes, her master was a Sword Immortal of super first-class stature — there might be a few out there who could surpass him, but not many. With a fine sword, he could indeed become the greatest in the world, and so she set off for home, full of excitement.

Little Chan was the child of servants from the Shi Family residence, and she was returning to the Shi household, which she called home.

Arriving by Flying Sword from the heavens, her descent astounded the people on several streets.

Upon reaching her family home, she sat down confidently in the main hall, ready to exact some overdue retribution on those who had once ruled over her.

But she found that many had passed away; her parents were gone, the former matriarch had died, and even Ni Lanxin was no longer there. The new mistress and her concubines were strangers to her.

In eight years, everything and everyone had changed.

Nevertheless, Little Chan fiercely dealt with the old steward and even Shi Wenbing, the master of the house, forcing them all to kneel on the steps and recall how they had mistreated her in the past, followed by a resounding spanking for everyone.

As she watched these once high-and-mighty individuals wail and plead under the lashing, Little Chan reveled in their misery.

Suddenly, Shi Zhu returned from outside, clutching two frogs and planning to fetch some salt from the kitchen to roast them.

Little Chan asked, "Whose child is this?"

Thinking the child might belong to a steward, she figured that adults, after all, could take a beating without fully submitting. They might still curse her in their hearts, so striking their child would inflict deeper pain and subdue them more efficiently.

But to her surprise, she learned the child was Ni Lanxin's.

Knowing this child had no blood relation to anyone in the residence and that hitting him would be futile, she waved him away.

However, Shi Zhu saw Shi Wenbing bloodied and lying on the ground, breathing in little and out even less, and immediately dropped the frogs to rush over and support him, "Master! Master, what's happened to you?"

In the beginning, Shi Wenbing hoped Ni Lanxin would come back to live with him and acknowledge Shi Zhu as his son.

But after two or three years with no sign of Ni Lanxin, his patience wore thin, and resentment burgeoned just as the child began to learn to speak. He then forbade Shi Zhu from calling him dad, only allowing the title of old master.

Shi Zhu initially kept calling him daddy, until he was severely punished numerous times. After that, he too only addressed him as old master.

Shi Wenbing, no longer young, had been beaten with sixty blows; his buttocks were shredded. Nearly passing out, he opened his eyes, sighed at the sight of Shi Zhu, and then closed them again.

Little Chan dismissed him with a wave of her hand, ordering him to scram, then pressed another overseer with questions, "When I was nine years old, I only stole two walnuts from the kitchen, and you ordered someone to slap my face twenty times. Now after so many years, with interest on interest, Accountant Li, calculate how many times should I be slapped now?"

Mr. Accountant, trembling at the side, said, "It should be seventy-six times."

"Hit!" She immediately ordered the young servants to strike.

Everyone had witnessed her prowess when she unleashed her Flying Sword to shatter a grinding stone; they dared not disobey. Two young servants grabbed the manager by the hair, pinned him down, and started slapping him fiercely, the sound echoing crisply.

That's when Shi Zhu asked, "Who are you exactly?"

Little Chan gave him a disdainful glance, "I am your aunt! This has nothing to do with you; go away and play!"

After finishing with the manager, blood streaming from his nose and mouth, and forcing him to kneel aside, she pointed at an old nanny, "Back then, you arranged a marriage between me and your son, even going to the lady of the house with this. What is your son worth? Worthy of marrying me?"

The old nanny, trembling, said, "Back then, your parents agreed and even accepted a dowry of twenty Silver from us. Later, when you disagreed, we didn't force the issue, we just asked your parents to return the dowry. They wouldn't do it, so we only asked the lady of the house to reason with us..."

"Scoundrel! Still dare to slander my parents! Beat her! Twenty blows for her, let's see if she dares to talk back!"

The young servants dragged the old nanny away ruthlessly, and her son desperately came to protect her, kicking a servant to the ground, "Come at me if you dare!"

Little Chan sneered and with a flick of her hand, unleashed her Flying Sword. A streak of cold sword light flew, slicing off the man's left ear, "I am here; who allows you to play the hero?"

The man screamed in agony, clutching his ear and crouching on the ground. Little Chan then ordered the servants to restrain both mother and son, ready to start the punishment.

Seeing this, Shi Zhu rushed over to intervene. In this household, where everyone was indifferent towards him, this old nanny often saved him food and mended his clothes.

He shouted, "If you are indeed my aunt, I beg you to show mercy. Nanny Zhang has been kind to me; please do not hit her."

"Get lost! Otherwise, I will beat you too!"

Little Chan fiercely scolded, instructing the servants to forcefully pull Shi Zhu aside.

Unable to stop it, Shi Zhu quickly ran back to his room, retrieved the Nine Stars Ancient Bronze Sword, and dashed back. Drawing the long sword, he warned, "Stop them now, or I will start chopping at you!"

His treasure sword was of an antique design, seemingly made of bronze. Once drawn, its sword light made the room gleam brightly, and its biting Sword Qi was painfully sharp to the skin. Little Chan's eyes gleamed at the sight: How could this be better than the Flying Sword I painstakingly forged!
