While Lin Han and Shi Sheng were stealthily infiltrating Red Wood Ridge and causing chaos at Heavenly Dog Cliff, the Red-haired Ancestor also arrived at Lush Peach Mountain's Tu Cui Peak.
He watched from a distance as the "Evil Corpse Gu Chen" sat upright in front of the cave where he had once cultivated, setting up a Dharma Platform and casting spells.
Lin Han and Shi Sheng, wrapped by the Black Evil Silk into "silkworm cocoons", stood on either side. Angered, he roared and released the Heavenly Demon Blood Transformation Divine Saber, creating a blood-colored saber rainbow hundreds of feet long that whirled through the air in a long arc, shooting directly toward the enemies on the cliff.
That "Evil Corpse Gu Chen" also saw red upon encountering his sworn enemy, howling as he pounced over.
If it were the real Gu Chen, he would certainly have used the Black Evil Sword and various Magical Treasures to counterattack.
But this Gu Chen was an imposter; his true form was a Divine Demon, and he was better at lunging at people.
The Red-haired Ancestor was surprised to see this fighting method, thinking to himself what got into this demon corpse today, daring to charge at him head-on.
After all, he was a master of his generation, and quickly realized that the opponent was not the real Gu Chen, instead, a Divine Demon in disguise. At first shocked, he then sneered with disdain.
His Heavenly Demon Blood Transformation Divine Saber excelled at slaying Primordial Spirits. Even the strong mana of Green Robe Ancestor, several hundred years of Dao Level, cultivating a Second Primordial Spirit entrusted within the Mysterious Yin Pearl, would still scatter soul and spirit if hit by his divine saber.
The reason why the Red-haired Ancestor would brazenly risk his life to fight enemies, and even dare to ambush Wei Bagong, whose Daoist power was far stronger than his, was because of this divine saber. It truly had the power to slay both Buddha and Demon when they block his way.
Previously, Lin Han couldn't have struggled against him for long without the Nanming Leaving Fire Sword. If he hadn't fled fast enough, he would have been slain by a single strike!
He aimed the blade edge at the fake Gu Chen, slashing down, intending to cleave the Demon in two.
However, this demon was no ordinary Divine Demon. Typical demons could feel the fierce killing intent of the Heavenly Demon Blood Transformation Divine Saber. He was aware of the saber's ferocity from a distance.
But still, he confronted it head-on, with bared fangs and claws and eyes aflame, his mouth spewing Demonic Flame, confronting the saber edge in the blink of an eye.
This demon was really formidable. In an instant, it split into two halves, from head to waist, separating automatically and tightly squeezing past the rainbow-formed by the Blood Transformation God Sword and pressing forward towards the Red-haired Ancestor.
At first, the Red-haired Ancestor thought he had successfully cleaved it in two, but his joy lasted less than half a second before a sudden alarm struck him.
According to common sense, whether it was the Primordial Spirit of a Sword Immortal or of Divine Demons, once split by the Treasure Saber, the remaining parts would naturally scatter left and right, much like a drop of ink in water.
It was impossible to be like now, as if an individual with a physical body, with both halves neatly squeezing the saber and continuing to charge at him.
He quickly cast a spell, his right hand forming a Sword Technique, causing the hundred-foot-long saber rainbow to whirl like a silk ribbon, with a bright blood glow, aiming to grind the two halves of the demon into dust, turning them into fragmented souls.
But the demon split into two avatars instead of merging, turning directly into two streaks of blood-light, and with lightning speed, they broke free from the saber circle and dived again.
"Not good!" The Red-haired Ancestor hurriedly cast the Six Yin Annihilation God, flicking his head full of red hair and releasing a strange python from his crown—an amalgamate of his Primordial Spirit and a Demon Beast.
The Red Phosphorus Python opened its mouth and spat out a vast swath of red light, entangling the demon, while the Red-haired Ancestor used the Heavenly Demon Blood Transformation Divine Saber to strike. The demon, recognizing the threat, shuddered his body and flew back towards the Dharma Platform.
"Where do you think you're going, Demon!" The Red-haired Ancestor roared as he rapidly pursued.
He desired to possess the Nanming Leaving Fire Sword and the Myriad Xuan Guang Ruler. Driven by this greed, he was captured by the Demon Mother's long-range spellcasting.
The initial greed was merely a thought of desire, which was amplified by Magic into intense greed, which then connected to the Primordial Spirit, causing it to oscillate outwardly, no longer unified with the body.
The Red-haired Ancestor rushed to the Dharma Platform and first used the Blood Transformation God Sword to shatter the Black Evil Silk tightly coiled around "Lin Han" and "Shi Sheng". Then he reached out with a large hand to pull them up into the air.
Suddenly, he discovered these two were also illusions conjured by the demon.
The demon's Transformative Technique was no match for Shi Feiyang's Earth Evil Transformation, which was a realization from the Heavenly Number. Now, Shi Feiyang's Transformation Technique, even within the Spiritual Space Immortal Realm, was such that not even the gods might recognize his true form.
The demon's Transformative Technique was more about creating illusions, although the degree of transformation based on different Dao Levels varied, its essence was still illusion rather than transformation.
The Nine Little Demons had Spell and Divine Skills even stronger than their mother. To others, it would be surely imperceptible, but the Red-haired Ancestor was different. Especially in critical moments, he discerned their true forms and hurriedly swore while casting spells to block them.
"Lin Han" and "Shi Sheng", the two little demons tied up there, had performed this ruse for so long, and still eventually, this old man with red hair saw through them. Both were so furious, each stretched their bodies in midair and surged upward.
No more disguises; it's time to lay our cards on the table!
Not just the three of them, but the other six flew out as well. In total, nine streaks of Demon Light encircled the Red-haired Ancestor at the center, each spewing Demonic Flame, shooting Demon Light from their fingers, and out of their mouths came either cries or laughs that evoked various emotions through demonic chants.
"Hahaha... brothers, we feast on this Red-haired old freak today..."
"Wuwuwu... we're about to devour him... won't that be too cruel?"
"Monstrous? We were born demons, shackled by that Shi Feiyang, deprived of our freedom, and slaved away alongside mother. That's true cruelty! Compared to that, what's the big deal about eating a human?"
"Hush! If you dare speak ill of the master, be careful or he'll spank you with his ruler..."
"Even if he hits me, I must speak out! According to my divine skills, we should have followed the Immortal Path in this life, but it's because of him altering our fates that we fell onto the Demon Path!"
"You shouldn't say it like that. If that's the case, our mother was a Great Demon in her previous life, so how do you explain that?"
"Enough, both of you stop arguing! Mother will start crying again if you keep this up. Let's just listen to what mother says. Master once said, 'Whether one is an immortal or a demon, or whether one is human or demon, it all depends on a single thought.' Squabbling over this will only make things difficult for mother."
"Exactly, the master has taught us, 'We can choose to be good or evil, whether in front of us, good and evil depend on the individual's actions. In goodness, one becomes a Buddha or an Immortal; in wickedness, one becomes a beast with horns throughout.' We are only called demons by others, in truth, we are Heavenly Demons, Celestial Spirits, Divine Demons... Born superior to ordinary humans, perhaps it's a blessing in disguise."
"He is your master! Not mine! I only listen to mother! If it weren't for her, I would've eaten him alive long ago!"
"There's still the Nine Heavens Yuan Yang Ruler even without mother. Are you not afraid of getting struck by that ruler?"
"I could find a way to coax someone into stealing the ruler, then devour him!"
"Even without the ruler, you wouldn't be able to beat him. The master is very powerful."
"Powerful my ass! Without the ruler and if mother doesn't care, if I wish to eat him, I'll eat him however I please, starting by biting off his nose, then his ears! Brain stewed in sauce, heart and liver served with pickles, the intestines braised..."
"You're just boasting! Even without the ruler, the master could pull out your teeth one by one. Have you forgotten how you last sneak-attacked him and he twisted your head off with his bare hands?"
"I was careless then, and I didn't dodge..."
As the Red-haired Ancestor dueled, he listened to their squabbling, utterly perplexed by the cacophony of their incessant noise.
Little did he know that each of these little demons carried a fate with the immortals, born with Immortal Roots, nurtured with Immortal Bones, and though they turned to the Demon Path, their nature remained righteous.
Each had a different temperament, but a common bond in their filial devotion to their mother. The merest scowl from the Demon Mother and they would all behave, crowding around her, fussing until they saw her cheerful smile once more.
Despite their ceaseless quarreling, they were relentless in action, surrounding the Red-haired Ancestor with a center formation, assaulting him with Demon Thunder from the front, trapping him with Demon Light from above, scorching him with Demon Fire from below, ambushing him with Demon Evil from behind, and supporting the attack with pervasive Demon Fog.
Their attacks were enormous; a single strike could shatter a small mountain. For example, the eldest, with a flick of his finger, could emit Demon Light that skewed the trajectory of the Blood Transformation God Sword.
Others employed soul attacks, like the youngest, who didn't even show his human shape and was unseen and unheard. He cast spells from the shadows, soul-snatching - if not for the Red-haired Ancestor's formidable mana, he would have nearly fallen into the trap multiple times, twice being lured into illusions and nearly having his Primordial Spirit pulled from his body, if not for his timely awakening to break the enchantment.
The Red-haired Ancestor could sense his presence but couldn't pinpoint him. The demon children attacking him sometimes appeared as eight, sometimes nine, sometimes ten – the uncertainty lay with the youngest.
This barbarian ancestor from the Southern Border felt more alarmed as the battle wore on: where had these nine formidable demons sprung from? They seemed to practice the Nine Child Mother Sky Demon's techniques, but not quite. Could it be that Jiu Panpo was behind this, giving him trouble deliberately?
He suddenly bellowed, "Is the Red Body Sect's Sect Hierarch here? Please show yourself!"
He shouted several times in succession, yet there was no response.
The nine little demons intensified their assault, and the Red-haired Ancestor's fury mounted. He unleashed six creatures that had merged with his Primordial Spirit.
His disciples, from the onset of their path, raised Demon Beasts fused to their Primordial Spirits, each with their own Demon Spirit.
However, the Red-haired Ancestor himself had six. His technique was called the Six Yin Extinguishing Divine Skill – not one Cultivation Technique but a complete suite.
Red Snake, Black Chan, Green Centipede, White Scorpion, Purple Guardian Palace, and Huang Qixiu - six demons in total. The first five had a thousand years of Dao Level and Huang Qixiu had three thousand. It had taken him great effort to capture Huang Qixiu and refine it to merge with his Primordial Spirit using his spells.
Once the six creatures emerged, their transformations and variations matched those of the Demon Cult's Divine Demons, battling the nine little demons. With Six Yin against Nine Yang, they clashed and intermingled, love and hate intertwined. The creatures aimed to swallow the little demons while the little demons looked to capture them as pets. They wrestled, bit, and burnt each other in an inseparable conflict.
With these six creatures against the Nine Demons, the Red-haired Ancestor was much relieved.
He had come here to deal with Evil Corpse Gu Chen and to take the Nanming Leaving Fire Sword and the Xuan Guang Ruler.
But Gu Chen and the two children were all transformations of demons, and the sword and ruler were not here.
Preparing to confront the nine demons' master, he intended to question her thoroughly: why did she curse him from afar and harm him with spells? What kind of enmity existed between them that justified her actions?
He had heard the little demons mention their mother and master in their conversation earlier.
The Red-haired Ancestor knew that they were Demon Children; when they spoke of their mother, it must be the combined form of their Demon Mother, and regarding the master, it must be Jiu Panpo.
He was puzzled why Jiu Panpo would suddenly come forth to harm him and kept shouting loudly, "Jiu Panpo! Come out!"
Finally, he heard an ancient voice say, "I have come out!"
