Dig Up the Sun Emperor's Legacy: I Build an Invincible Undead Legion

Chapter 231: Meeting

Eyes cold as winter.

"Been way too long since I wore the formal threads."

The moment the mask vanished, rich blood materialized out of nowhere, wrapping around Pergina's body.

In the blink of an eye, it solidified into blood formal wear, radiating brilliant crimson with rising killing intent.

Sabina, gorgeous as a red rose, smiled at this sight:

"Dear sister, I've finally tracked you down!"

Then her expression went ice cold. Blood bats let out ear-piercing shrieks as red mist boiled, instantly eating away any tables, cabinets, or instruments it touched.

But this red mist couldn't lay a finger on Pergina, blocked by that blood formal wear.

Hearing this, Pergina now realized Sabina hadn't been sure of her identity before—just playing mind games with her.

But shit had hit the fan. Since she was blown, no point in more bullshit.

"Sabina, what's going down?"

Pergina knew her sister's nature like the back of her hand.

Even knowing where she was hiding, without some serious business, she'd never come hunting.

Sabina smiled sweetly. The red mist cleared and the tense atmosphere vanished like it had all been smoke and mirrors.

She conjured a blood fan in her hand, gently fanning herself.

"Humanity's final chapter has started!"

"Final chapter!"

Pergina's expression went dead serious, words coming fast:

"No way—how could it be this soon!"

Sabina stayed cool as a cucumber, blood flowing from her fingertips to form a tiny topographical map.

"According to what we know,

Ember City, Rock Sand City, Black Flame City, Ice Pole City... all have been showing spiritual tide shit..."

With her words, cities on the blood map lit up one by one, blood mist symbolizing spiritual tides rising above them.

"That doesn't prove squat. Spiritual tides show up at the start of any era."

Pergina wasn't buying Sabina's theory.

She'd felt Rock Sand City's spiritual tide—no major difference from previous eras rolling in.

Sabina said with a chill in her voice:

"But this time is seriously fucked up: spiritual tide concentration actually beats the previous era!"

According to Sacred Fire records, the entire Material Realm's spiritual energy was constantly going downhill, each era weaker than the last.

Pre-era spiritual tides should be weaker by the book, not exploding stronger!

"...Way beyond the previous era, even several times stronger than the most badass recorded tides!"

After Sabina's explanation, Pergina's expression shifted as she chewed on these words.

Before she could make heads or tails of it, Sabina's voice kept rolling:

"Plus, this era's new generation hotshots are popping up like weeds!

Just Ember City has seven or eight repeatedly evolved geniuses—in the past, these spiritual energy golden children showed up only every few hundred or thousand years.

Among them,

Silver Sword Iris Valois hit Controller realm before she was legal—you should know how insane that is!"

On the blood map, figures took shape one by one. Anyone in the know would recognize these as geniuses and monsters from various city-states' new generations!

Pergina frowned as heavy pressure slammed down. She held her ground, arguing:

"Even if it's weird, doesn't mean the final chapter's here.

Maybe normal era hiccups... maybe influence from certain planes..."

Sabina knew these red flags weren't enough to convince her 'dearest' sister.

So she waved her blood fan, and the small figures representing city-state geniuses on the blood map immediately split into two columns.

"This is..."

Pergina's eyes went wide.

She could see at first glance this was clearly divided by gender.

The number of male geniuses on the left was way fewer than female geniuses.

The ratio hit a mind-blowing one to ten!

"Dear Pergina, this is the biggest red flag of all!"

Even in recorded matriarchal eras, the male-female ratio was never this batshit crazy.

"Only in the final chapter, from humanity's desperate struggle, would female genius numbers and quality blow past males by this much.

Only with enough human mothers making it through would humanity have better odds of keeping the species going!"

Speaking, above the blood map, among the male figures, one exceptionally pretty figure quietly floated into the crowd of female figures.

Pergina thought to herself—if she wasn't seeing things, that was Carlos Valois, the kid her student was head-over-heels for?

Why was only Carlos Valois's figure so damn lifelike?

Almost perfectly copied, even eye and pupil details nailed down.

Sabina, not picking up on Pergina's thoughts, kept pushing her point:

"To max out humanity's survival and baby-making potential,

The psychic carrying era power has to be male, with females all over him."

One male top dog with tons of female powerhouses was the sweet spot for getting through the final chapter alive.

Sabina had done her homework on this—setups like this could pop out tons of quality kids.

On the flip side, equal setups would suck at making quality offspring.

Pergina was wavering inside. Had the final chapter that wipes out everything really showed up?

Suddenly, Sabina switched gears:

"Course, weird shit is still weird shit..."

Before Pergina could breathe easy, she heard Sabina's dead-serious voice:

"I've spotted movement from the Sun Emperor's Court!"

"Sun Emperor's Court?"

"Not just the Sun Emperor's Court...

Ersbah United Kingdom, Shadow Realm... the big shots that ruled one or multiple eras are all showing signs."

"You know what this means..."

As Sabina chanted, blood condensed into banners—flags of various era powerhouses!

Whether massive, magnificent, or royal... just the copied patterns were enough to feel their once world-crushing terrifying presence.

Pergina's expression went grim as she said heavily:

"The Destiny Stone once wrote:

...Even if era powerhouses come back, they can't stop everything going to hell—the final chapter's destruction!"

The Destiny Stone—legend said it recorded every Material Realm being's fate.

After its last revelation of final chapter prophecy, it completely cracked apart and vanished.

Some said it was born to warn everyone;

Others said it was some being's 'joke,' spreading massive lies to screw with everyone.

Doubters and believers both existed.

Like first-time fortune tellers, it was tough to buy divination results until shit actually went down.

But only a handful of powerhouses knew

The Destiny Stone, as the mysterious monument carrying fate, was born before everything showed up.

It had popped up several times in history.

The Sun Emperor's Court vanishing, Shadow Realm getting wasted, Ersbah United Kingdom's rise and fall... all showed up in its writings.
