There's Absolutely No Problem With The Magic Cards I Made!

Ch. 19

Chapter 19. The Wondrous Cooperation of Dekan and Cornelia

Baron Bach swayed his neck and readjusted his tie.

Confirming that the knot of the tie was perfectly centered, he once again smiled at the remaining two of us. He seemed to have returned to his initial gentlemanly appearance.

"So next, who's up?" Baron Bach asked in a gentle and steady tone, as if nothing had happened just now.

"I'll go." I raised my hand to volunteer without hesitation.

"Very good."

Baron Bach was somewhat surprised that a student had become more proactive in a new round of the dangerous game. Usually, after the first round, the remaining students would start to become terrified.

But looking at us two, not only were we calm, but we also looked confident.

However, the more it was like this, the more interesting Baron Bach found it.

He laughed again.

Unexpected changes were often the best seasoning. For a hunter, the rarer the prey, the more valuable it was to capture.

Baron Bach picked up another plate, politely circled the edge of the long table for a short while, and walked to my side.

He gently raised his hand and lifted the silver cloche for me.

This was a completely different dish from the previous one, with an enticing aroma drifting up. It was golden in color, with clearly visible crispy textures. The outside of the roasted meat was coated with a crispy shell, faintly glowing under the lights.

It seemed that the cloche had magic attached to it, as it could still maintain the freshness of the food even after being stored for a period of time.

I resisted the urge to pick up this cloche to analyze and study it, and instead focused my gaze on the food.

I sat up straight, picked up my knife and fork, and cut the food at an unhurried pace.

Each time, I put only a small amount of food into my mouth and then chewed it gently.

Hmm, the skin was crispy and layered, the roasted meat inside was tender and juicy, plus the sweetness of the cheese.

What a perfect late-night snack.

The whole process lasted for five minutes.

I put down my knife and fork and picked up a napkin to gently wipe my mouth.

"Not bad."

I leaned back on the chair again and commented.

I even wanted to take out my wallet and give Baron Bach a small tip.

However, I restrained myself.

My attitude greatly surprised Baron Bach.

He had never seen a student so relaxed and at ease in the cooking classroom. There was not a trace of fear; instead, it was as if a distinguished guest was evaluating the chef's skill.

Was I inviting him to dinner?

Is he a true gourmet, or is he missing a screw in his head?

"Hehehe."

Baron Bach couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Besides being surprised, he felt a little excited.

This was an extremely novel prey.

He was looking forward to seeing my calm face change from composed to desperate, and then start begging him for mercy.

He really wanted to bite and shatter this calm face.

"So what's the answer?" Baron Bach asked, smiling as he looked at me from the side.

"My answer is—"

"Cor, poi, eat, move."

I leaned back on the chair, crossed my legs, and said.

"Is that your answer?"

Baron Bach frowned, as if he suspected he had misheard something.

"That's right."

I replied with a deadpan expression.

This threw Baron Bach into a daze for a moment.

What does "Cor, poi, eat, move" mean?

No matter what, it was nowhere near the correct answer!

With this level of skill, you're still so arrogant? Are you playing with me? You actually don't know anything at all, do you? With death at your doorstep, you decided to enjoy the food with all your heart instead?

Baron Bach looked at me. Until now, I still looked as unruffled as ever.

He had a feeling that he was being played with.

Where is your fear, your despair? That's the best seasoning I deserve! That expression of yours, like you've enjoyed a good meal and want to drink something else, do you really think this is a restaurant?

"Hehehehe, this is the first time I've seen a student like you."

Baron Bach was furious, yet he laughed out of anger.

"I've decided, I'm going to chew you to pieces in my mouth! As punishment for not satisfying me!"

Along with Baron Bach's somewhat angry voice, his neck stretched out again, and the entire area above his collar turned back into its monstrous form.

Only this time, he had no desire to admire his prey's appearance, and opened his large mouth to bite straight at me!

At this moment, Cornelia suddenly erupted. A sledgehammer appeared in her hand. She stepped onto the dining table, leaped forward violently, and smashed it fiercely at Baron Bach's outstretched neck.

"Boom!"

A loud noise, like the collision of iron, was particularly clear in the originally quiet classroom.

Sparks flew from the point of impact between Cornelia's warhammer and Baron Bach's scales, and the air faintly smelled of smoke, like a foundry.

Baron Bach's neck was smashed by Cornelia into a bizarrely bent angle, and his whole body was sent flying.

Cornelia was also pushed back by the huge rebound force and had to stomp twice to stop herself, but her eyes revealed a long-suppressed excitement.

Finally, she could fight without holding back.

Only she could understand what I had just said.

It meant: "Cornelia, he has been poisoned by me. When he is about to eat me, you make your move and launch a surprise attack."

At the same time, black mist spread.

I had already retreated behind Cornelia and summoned the Ruined Poet.

Baron Bach tried to prop himself up with an angry expression.

Just now, he was at his most vulnerable period and was ambushed by Cornelia. In addition to the deep, lingering pain branded on his neck, he also felt a growing, intense colic in his stomach, the source of which he did not know.

However, he had no chance to think, nor did he have time to organize a counterattack against Cornelia and me.

When the black mist filled the classroom, the pain from within Baron Bach's body suddenly multiplied tenfold in an instant.

He knelt on the ground uncontrollably and violently spat out a mouthful of foul blood. The carpet stained by the blood instantly started emitting gray smoke as if it had been corroded. He coughed a few more times, as if he wanted to cough up all his internal organs, and spat out a few small, strangely shaped spikes.

"Ahhhhh!"

"You, what on earth did you do?!"

In shock and anger, Baron Bach twisted his neck and roared heart-wrenchingly.

This pain was not a feeling he could describe with experience or words; it was a kind of continuous torture that surpassed the extreme. He lay on the ground, twisting his body frantically, as if something was about to tear him apart completely from the inside out.

"Behave."

Cornelia leaped down from the long table, stepped on Baron Bach's back, and pressed the sledgehammer against his head.

This seemed to "calm" him down a bit.

"Hmph hmph."

With a light laugh, I pulled out a chair from the side of the long table.

I placed the chair in front of Baron Bach, sat down, and rested my chin on my intertwined fingers.

"You are not qualified to ask questions. Next is my interrogation time," I said with a hint of mockery in my expression, looking at the prostrate Baron Bach.
