Chapter 78: Seed Spirit Index Orb

A/N: My mother died on Monday. You might wonder why I was not able to update even three days prior---she was in coma. Give me some time to update... I hope you understand.

Liu Wei continued to observe more about the Agricultural Domain.

He never left the peak of the terrace, observing in the distance.

Of course, he was able to descend through the stairs, especially made for humans and even beasts.

Liu Wei continued to observe more, even deciding to walk and stand on a different terrace.

As expected, they were rich with qi distinct to their environment.

Liu Wei tried to cultivate a different basic elemental terrace, but he learned that it would break the balance of his harmonious five elemental qi in his Verdant Cauldron Sutra.

Hence, he immediately stopped.

Liu Wei entertained himself a bit more, even communicating with the puppet workers.

However, they did not respond, only proceeding to act to how they were programmed to do so.

The System even mocked him for it.

In the end, Liu Wei returned to the Farmer's Shed and was not surprised that the tools and others were upgraded.

The Spirit-Iron Hoe turned into an Elemental Resonance Hoe, which could easily shift resonance to specific elements to loosen the specific elemental hoes.

The Qi-Edge Sickle turned into Rune-Edge Sickle, which cuts crops cleanly and simultaneously engraves harvesting runes that preserve Qi longer.

The Bamboo-Rake turned into Flow Rake, which adjusts Qi currents across the terraces, ensuring balanced growth patterns.

Staring at the tools, Liu Wei sighed.

Only the Rune-Edge Sickle he had to use, the rest, if he simply wanted to.

He complained to the System.

"Why are there no puppet workers that are responsible for harvesting? There should have been!"

The System immediately replied:

[Only you have the access to the storage inside the Farmer's Shed. Furthermore, puppets are not advanced to the point they can cross the terrace that has different elements, beyond what they could handle. So, you should stop complaining and still harvest. What's the point of having an Agricultural Domain if you want to be static?]

Liu Wei rolled his eyes and shrugged.

"Just because you own something does not necessarily mean you have to run it by yourself. I can handle the process of taking out the harvest from the Agricultural Domain. All I wanted was to have a harvester to ease the task."

[Then, upgrade it to Advance Level. Go. Ah, you don't have money, right? Shame on you, then. Stop complaining and appreciate what you currently have.]

Liu Wei felt defeated.

In the end, as he did not want to argue with the System anymore, he kept his mouth shut and continued to observe the other upgraded objects inside the Farmer' Shed.

However, Rhayven, who has been quiet, suddenly said, "Wow, they are not simply ordinary objects, Big Brother. They radiate Qi and even runes."

Liu Wei smiled and nodded.

He replied, "Extraordinary, right?"

Rhayven immediately replied, "Yes!"

He chuckled.

Liu Wei then proceeded to observe the other objects.

There were not only the upgraded objects but newly added ones.

For example, in the seed and sapling storage section, there was a newly added Seed Spirit Index Orb.

It was located at the center of the sapling storage section, above a circular pedestal of jade roots.

Its surface appears translucent, swirling with countless motes of green and gold light.

Each mote was a record of a seed's essence stored within the Agricultural Domain.

Liu Wei went closer to it and resonated a light hum, seemingly perceiving Liu Wei's presence.

He smiled.

He asked the System, "What is this for?"

The System immediately replied.

[Pretty much the same as me. It can generate a hologram and will show you detailed information on a specific seed, its historical growth records, and its mutational tracking and lineage mapping.]

Liu Wei was deeply intrigued.

He asked, "So, it can talk, then?"

[Of course. It has a conversational query mode. It can respond to verbal and visual explanations. Try it.]

Liu Wei smiled and nodded.

He asked the Seed Spirit Index Orb, "Can you provide detailed information about the Verdant Rice?"

The Seed Spirit Index Orb manifested a hologram, showing an image of a Verdant Rice with lines and descriptions surrounding it.

[Verdant Rice

Classification: Mortal-grade

Flora Elemental Affinity: Wood (minor Water trace)

Preferred Qi Environment: Mildly humid soil with consistent Qi flow; thrives near water channels or mist terraces.

Growth Cycle Duration: 12 days under Season Wheel (one natural month otherwise).

Harvest Effects / Alchemical Uses: Cooked grains mildly replenish Qi and restore physical vitality. Can be refined into Qi-Nourishing Porridge, a basic food elixir for low-level cultivators.

Dao Resonance: Life Dao, Harmony Dao — promotes calm circulation and balanced growth, often used to meditate on the steady flow of life energy.]

Liu Wei was simply welcomed with detailed information about Verdant Rice, not hearing a word from the Seed Spirit Index Orb.

Liu Wei fell into contemplation and asked, "Have there been any mutated plants produced?"

The Seed Spirit Index Orb replied, "Not at the moment. In fact, mutations rarely or even are impossible to occur without your interventions. With the puppet workers present, the Agricultural Domain lives in harmony, not even an environmental catalyst can do anything about it."

Liu Wei was surprised.

He asked, "So, what should I do? Give me an example."

The Seed Spirit Index Orb immediately replied, "You first have to disturb the Domain's balance intentionally."

She then projected a hologram, showing a rotating image of two plants above its surface—a golden stalk of Verdant Rice and a blood-red root of Scarletroot Carrot.

Then the hologram shifted to a terrace where a thunder weather hovered above the rice field.

She said, "Expose Verdant Rice to the Thunder Rain pattern for seven consecutive cycles. This will flood the roots with Lightning Qi beyond natural tolerance."

The hologram shifted into the rice stalks, showing golden sparks crawling across them. Their grains pulse with unstable brilliance.

Then, an overlay image of Liu Wei's silhouette appeared beside the image, showing his hand raising and faintly glowing.

She said, "At the same time, release your own Qi. A trace of your Dao will act as a catalyst—your emotional state, intent, and inner resonance will decide the mutation's direction."

In the hologram, Liu Wei's Dao appears—its aura was serene and balanced, flowing into the soil. The lightning ceased crackling violently and instead began fusing into the rice.

Then, a rice with faint electric veins appeared.

She said, "Then, a mutated Azure Pulse Grain will be produced."

Liu Wei was mesmerized by the grain.

At the same time, he was more captivated by the mutation that occurred.

The Seed Spirit Index Orb continued, "The hybrid Azure Pulse Grain carries both Wood and Lightning attributes. Thus, it is beneficial for cultivators refining lightning arts or Qi circulation techniques, as it improves meridian conductivity when consumed."

Then, the hologram projection eventually faded, and the Seed Spirit Index Orb concluded.

"In short, mutation is born not from chaos alone, but from intent guided through imbalance. Without your interference, harmony keeps all life still—perfect, but unchanging."

Liu Wei was amazed.

He even clapped from the Seed Spirit Index Orb's performance.

However, his clap slowly came into a halt.

His mouth twitched.

He asked, "Does that mean I have to learn the Dao of Harmony or some sort? And at what level?"

The Seed Spirit Index Orb immediately replied, "Yes. At the very least in the Minor Completion Level, so the Harmony Intent will flawlessly be able to mutate the plants."

Liu Wei rolled his eyes and complained.

"As if it's as easy as you say."

Liu Wei sighed and contemplated.

I have to harvest it by myself. Given by the terraces, it will take some time to harvest them all… Ah, right!

Liu Wei asked the Seed Spirit Index Orb, "Plants have different harvesting times, right?

The Seed Spirit Index Orb replied, "Absolutely. Here is the harvesting time system of the plants."

She then manifested a wall of texts in front of Liu Wei.

"First Terrace (Solar Qi.)
