<26 August 2024, GRAND MESA OF SUMMER, A+> [Theo and Julia] The rest of the day was simple, Theo and Julia working away. Julia focused on inlaying Ward runes and Durability runes where Kreldar asked her to. Theo began working on establishing paths that ran the length of the Overlook and then set out to lay out fields and get his berries to propagate, starting to plant seeds.

When they had completed a day's work, Theo and Julia would eat dinner and lay down to sleep next to the fire.

The next few days followed this same pattern. Until they were awoken at midnight by a system message.

System Message Regarding: System Integration Update II Description The Mana Saturation of the Core of planet Y-7F63C-3, locally known as Earth, has reached the second milestone. This allows for the enabling of the following System Features. 1. Dungeon Spawning 2. Node Control System

Each of these will affect you and the other System Users around you in different ways.

At this time, Dungeons will spawn. The initial Dungeon Seeding is currently taking place. When a new Dungeon attempts to spawn, a beacon of light will emanate from the core.

The Node Control System is primarily a background process that manages resources and special resources. Controlling a node will allow a Family to restrict the use of resources in their territory.

Thirty days have passed since system initialization. Thirty days remain until System Integration is complete.

In the night sky, pillars of light shot up. All around the sky, they saw them, and farther away, they shone as well. All over the world, though Theo and Julia didn't know it, Dungeons were taking root, and beams of light were shooting into the sky.

<30 August 2024, The White House - South Lawn, D-> [President Armstrong] Joshua Armstrong, former president of the United States of America, woke with a start. The message that was being broadcast startled him.

"A world with Dungeons." He muttered to himself as he read the blue box that opened up. "Who would have thought that I would be living in a D-N-D game."

"Dad?" Sarah asked blearily.

"I'm here, honey," Joshua said.

"What happened?" She mumbled, still fighting to be awake despite her eyes not even opening halfway.

"Nothing important; go back to sleep, honey," Joshua said with a smile, gently running his hand over her head until she lay back down and started breathing deeply.

"You seem like you need a rest," Velna said. "I will keep an eye on the child. You go, do something other than work on that accursed Tower. It's done anyways."

Joshua looked at the older woman who was supposedly the Keeper of Humanities Lore. She had rapidly filled a slot in Sarah's heart, and the old woman had welcomed the little girl with warmth and compassion.

He nodded. "Thank you Velna."

She chuckled. "I raised seven children and outlived all of them and only had one grandchild who stayed out of prison or alive. So, I understand your protectiveness. Go enjoy yourself. The Tower you have been building is done; go celebrate."

Joshua nodded and headed off. He saw the Tower in the distance; it was a beacon of mana and other energies, pulsing with faint purple and blue light. "We did it with time to spare. I still don't know what is supposed to happen, but I guess we will find out in a couple days."

As he walked through the small tent city that sprung up around the Tower, he thought back to what Starfall had said to him. "We were supposed to complete the tower, raise our personal mana density, and send a message with her kin."

He looked at his status.

He was proud of his C-minus Mana Density; it had taken him considerable effort to achieve that. They were lucky that the old subway tunnels seemed to have a higher density of mana.

He was unsure what Sarah's stats were, as anyone who tried to identify a child under the age of ten was greeted with a simple box.

He shook his head, "She should be fine. She spends every moment she can 'adventuring' and probably has more stats than I do."

He continued his walk through the tent city. And when he arrived at the site where the Washington Monument used to stand, he heard a disturbing voice. "Are you President Joshua Armstrong?"

Joshua whipped around. And found a Nar'Och and something else standing there. Joshua licked his lips; his throat had gone dry. "Hello. Yes, I am Joshua Armstrong. Not really a president anymore."

The Nar'Och nodded, "We are Oreburn. We were tasked to pass a message from you to Our valued humans."

Joshua had half-expected this and had been brainstorming ideas. "To give you a proper message, could you tell me who I will be addressing and how old they are?"

The Nar'Och's head tilted to the side for a moment, then it nodded. "Your message will be relayed to Lord and Lady Sorrin; they are human and both roughly twenty-four years old. We value them for their manners."

Joshua shot his eyebrows up; he vaguely remembered an announcement a few days ago about the first family being formed. "Alright. Well, here is my message."

He conveyed the message to Oreburn, who nodded after it was completed. "Your message will be relayed. We will depart now."

Suddenly, the strange entity with Oreburn vanished, and Oreburn squatted down and then shot into the sky. Joshua tried to follow him, but Oreburn moved too fast.

Joshua shook his head, turning to head back to where Sarah and Velna were. "Guess it's up to Lord and Lady Sorrin now."
