The Boundless Expanse(An Epic System Apocalypse LitRPG)

Chapter 625

With those words, the Foreman was suddenly before Sam, flaming footprints left where he had stood. His hammer blurred in a tight arc, before striking Sam with the force of a hurricane. Sam was torn from his feet, armor cracked and skin bleeding. Before he could react, another vicious blow struck him in the chin, flipping him end over end like a spinning top.

Sam snarled, and used Dao Juggernaut, shards of cosmic light slamming into his form, injecting pure might into his veins. Combined with the effects of his latest threshold, his strength exploding upwards like an atom bomb. Limned in the light of his Unique skill, Sam howled at the Foreman, a palpable blast wave of pure Vengeance washing over the other cultivator. Flesh peeled and bled as it was flensed to shreds. The Foreman let out a howl of his own, this one of pain. Sam took the chance to right himself.

Sam darted in and kicked the Foreman's legs out from under him. At the speeds that both were going, the magma warrior's leg bent at an odd angle, his E Rank flesh splitting as enough kinetic energy to blast a small city to dust was concentrated upon a single point.

A disk of accelerated dust shot outwards as a sonic boom cracked across the land like a whip. Sam wasted no time in taking advantage of his foe's disorientation, and hammered the Foreman into the ground with Terra's Will.

The other cultivator's fist shot out, shining with a blinding orange light. It glanced across Sam's side as the Foreman fell, burning the flesh beneath. Sam winced, but continued his attack, burying the Foreman in the ground. The earth shook a moment later as the powerful cultivator surged upwards, surrounded by a geyser of molten rock. Like the volcano that he venerated, the Earth cultivator erupted from the ground, his entire body glowing with a fiery light.

Sam grimaced, and withdrew, teleporting away. For some reason, the Foreman had neglected to lock down space. Perhaps that was because his Dao was weakened from earlier, or perhaps because he simply didn't need to. Sam decided to go with the latter option as the Foreman streaked across the sky, moving almost as quickly as if he were teleporting. Instead, the fighter kept the entirety of his momentum, his hammer moving fast enough to light the air around it on fire.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

Before Sam could even do more than raise his hammer to block, the Foreman bull rushed him, both men flying across the sky as their momentum combined. Sam felt his body being crushed by the force of the strike, tens of thousands of health points vanishing as a hole was both blasted and melted into his armor and flesh. It felt like a red hot poker had been shoved into his body, and then jiggled around.

Sam reached out with one hand and grabbed onto the Foreman's arm, clenching his fist down like an iron clamp. Ignoring the pain of his impalement, Sam began to batter the Foreman's head with Terra's Will, shrinking the weapon down to allow for a larger range of motion. The blows fell like an iron rain, deforming the other cultivator's head. Blood sprayed, and finally, the Foreman tried to disengage.

Sam grinned, and pulled the man closer, continuing to attack. His health pool dropped and dropped as the Foreman struggled, but it was too late for the invader. Sam incorporated immense quantities of Dao energy into his strikes, unbinding the E Ranker's flesh on a conceptual level. With one final scream, the Foreman slammed his palm into a small piece of metal affixed to his belt. With a flare of light, the man vanished, leaving Sam hurtling across the skies of the Gemlands, completely alone.
