Chapter 60: Sunshine Amusement Park

"What? What happened?" Felix's brows furrowed in a frown.

"He contacted me a few days back after your disappearance, and after I told him you came over earlier and was trying to get in contact with him, he had to change phones and share its location with mine so whenever you returned you could come by.

"Apparently, he was staying at this woods factory where he also worked at, but yesterday I watched his GPS move from the factory to the Sunshine Amusement Park before disappearing from the map." Ben relived what had happened.

"What? Sunshine Amusement Park?" Felix tensed as soon as he heard the name.

"Yeah. The same abandoned one from the Doom-0 Disaster nine years ago," Ben confirmed.

Felix's heart skipped a beat. After he was rescued from that park nine years ago, Felix never looked back or had it cross his mind to go back there for any reason.

But now… If the Titan Capital had really captured Kyle, then why would they take him to Sunshine Amusement Park? Though it was abandoned now, the organization had a base of operation and many more other secret establishments where they could carry out their dirty deals, so why that park?

Felix was starting to have a bad feeling about this. This was the second experience he had within a few days now pointing to the Doom-0 Disaster from nine years ago. And though the first had been a false alarm with Nemesis, the one thing Felix had learned from chain quests in video games was that even the slightest clue could be the cornerstone to clearing the entire quest.

In other words, Felix might've gotten the chain quest from investigating the small neighborhood, but it could somehow be connected or have a tie with the Doom-0 Disaster from nine years ago.

It was farfetched, but not out of reach. It was a Chain Quest after all.

"Lilith, just what did you see that made you give out this quest?" Felix mused thoughtfully.

There was no avoiding it now; he had to investigate Sunshine Amusement Park, both for his buddy, Kyle, and for any clues he might find from nine years ago.

"Felix, I know what you're thinking, and I'm coming with you—" Ben was saying, when Felix quickly refuted.

"No, you're not. It could be dangerous."

"I'm not useless, Felix—I can drive, really fast in case we need to quickly get away, and I have a fast car. I promise to wait in the car if we spot the Titan goons," Ben pleaded.

Felix thought for a moment before sighing in resignation, "Fine—but you promised to stay in the car. See you in five," Felix said and ended the call.

He entered his walk-in closet and threw on a black T-shirt and a leather jacket to couple with the baggy black pants he had on, before slipping his feet into a pair of black sneakers to go with it.

Then he hurried over to the balcony and summoned the Deathrizzler sword. Felix didn't want to trouble Lilith to hitch a ride as he still clearly remembered the bruises he found on her and had it in mind to ask about it.

The Deathrizzler was indeed too slender for him to balance himself on it for flight, but another idea had struck him a while back he sought to try.

Holding the sword forward pointing for the sky, he enveloped it with the [Telekinesis] skill and shot it forward like an arrow.

Felix was pulled along with the sword as it soared into the sky, holding firmly the hilt in his grip, and began piloting it in the direction of Ben's residence.

As long as he maintained a sufficient amount of speed, he shouldn't have a problem with losing balance in the air as he cut through the wind horizontally like the sword.

It didn't take long for him to arrive at Ben's neighborhood, though his speed was nowhere near that of Lilith in her draconic form.

He released his telekinetic influence on the sword as soon as he arrived over Ben's house and let himself fall down to the street below, before swiftly catching himself with the [Telekinesis] skill and landing safely in front of Ben's residence.

The gate of the mansion soon opened and a black sports car drove out with a low hum, stopping just before Felix and beeping its horn twice.

Felix made his sword disappear back to the [Absolute Domain] and briskly walked over to the passenger side, hopping in.

Ben didn't waste anymore of their time and swiftly drifted out of the street and sped towards the marked location on the GPS: Sunshine Amusement Park.

Ben hadn't been bluffing when he claimed he could drive, swerving between cars in unwarranted overtaking that impressed Felix—what could he say; he was also a lover of fast cars.

It didn't take long before they arrived at Sunshine Amusement Park, but was forced to pullover when they spotted a group of armed men guarding the entrance to the site and patrolling the perimeter.

This was an instant red flag as Felix recognized the armed men by their uniform to not be any national force, or even the Titan Capital goons, but were in fact a famous mercenary group in the country: Triple S Guard.

Felix was convinced something more than the pay grade of the Titan Capital was happening there.

"Stay here," Felix quickly said to Ben as he stepped out from the vehicle under the scrutinizing gaze of the Triple S Guard mercenaries approaching.

Felix calmly approached, slipping his hands into the pockets of his jacket. "I'm looking for a friend. His name is Kyle. Tall, messy black hair, handsome rough look," Felix said to them, ignoring the hand sign one gave for him to stay at bay.

"Stay back. We don't know where your friend is," one of them said, raising his rifle threateningly.

"Yeah, that wasn't very convincing. How about I check myself and we can call it a day," Felix said flatly, ignoring the warning as he kept approaching.

"I said stay back!" the same one yelled, cocking his rifle at Felix.

Felix unbothered by this, pulled his hand out of the pocket of his jacket, summoning the Deathrizzler in one smooth transition that made it look like he pulled the sword out from the pocket, and glitched from the spot, appearing before the man and slicing the raised rifle in clean halves like a hot knife cutting through butter, but before he could do any more with the other men raising their rifles to open fire at him, a familiar voice called out.

"Hold fire! Felix, what are you doing here?"

Felix turned in surprise to see Sage Yemada walking out from the entrance of the amusement park and heading towards him, and his expression turned dark.

What is she doing here?
