Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 864: The Red Night ( 4 )

It didn't take long before Jillian got an update from the other survivors helping the two Sculptors.

[ Jillian: Commander Shane, I've contacted Victor and Adrian. They've just finished crafting the 13th Sculpture. The last two are still in progress, but we can begin distribution immediately. ]

Shane's eyes lit up as he read the message.

[ Shane: Good. I want you to verify the quality first. If all of them had the same quality, just start the transfer immediately. However, if the quality differs, send the best ones in Silver Mine Camp and Blood Talon's shelter. ]

[ Jillian: Got it. I'll check it out. I'm heading to the Workshop now. ]

The Sculptor's Workshop inside the New Genesis Shelter was filled with the scent of wood, sawdust, and faint traces of Mana that came from the World Tree.

Several Warden Units stood guard as Victor Mors and Adrian worked tirelessly in the center of the room.

The newly completed Sculpture stood before them. It was not too large because of the similar size of the World Tree's branch.

It was nothing like the previous models.

Jillian approached slowly, but the boots gave her away.

The two master Sculptors turned to greet her, both looking utterly exhausted but proud.

"We just finished this one," Victor said, wiping sweat from his forehead. "The thirteenth Sculpture… our best work so far."

Adrian chuckled weakly. "You'll want to appraise it yourself, Jillian. This one… sings."

This confused her for a bit, but seeing how proud they were, Jillian could only nod.

The sculpture was about the size of a small trophy, made from a smooth branch of the World Tree.

The wood had a faint golden-green hue that made it really attractive.

Its base was shaped like twisted roots gripping a small stone plate for stability.

At the top, the branch curved to form a circular ring, and in the middle of that ring was a small white Spirit Stone.

It didn't look grand or divine, but it gave off a stable, refreshing presence that made the air easier to breathe.

'It looks simple, but it definitely had great effects.'

It didn't take that long before she was able to appraise it and get the information that she needed.

[ World's Touch Sculpture ( Epic ): A creation born from the fusion of the World Tree's Branches and high-Grade Spirit Stone. Designed to anchor Spirit Barriers and enhance energy flow within a limited range that creates resistance against mental, sonic, and spiritual interference.. ]

[ Effect Range: 500 meters ]

[ Passive Effects:

Barrier Amplification: Increases barrier strength and regeneration rate by 30%.

Resonance Field: Boosts Spirit Energy recovery and reduces interference from corrupted energy.

Frequency Dampening: Reduces the impact of sonic and psychic waves.

Auto-Stabilization: Absorbs Spirit Energy and Mana to repair minor damage over time. ]

Jillian felt satisfied after seeing this.

"Incredible…"

The craftsmanship was unlike anything she had seen before.

She smiled faintly. "You two outdid yourselves."

Victor grinned tiredly. "We'll take that as a compliment. The last two will take another eight or ten hours… The materials are getting harder to shape."

"That's fine," Jillian replied. "We can already deploy these thirteen. They'll be a massive help."

After that, she swiftly opened her private chat channel.

[ Jillian: Ziya, send me the distribution teams… We need to send some sculptures to other shelters. ]

Ziya was one of the engineers within the New Genesis Shelter. She was currently assisting with the repair or deployment of Warden Units.

After Jillian explained the situation, Ziya immediately acted.

Within minutes, Warden Units arrived and began loading the thirteen Sculptures into containers.

Jillian then gave the next orders.

"Hmm… I'll send three Sculptures to the Eclipse Domain, three to Silver Mine Camp, three to Springriver Manor, two to Blood Talon Shelter, and keep two here in New Genesis Shelter. Prioritize stable transport routes through the Portal Hall.

[ Acknowledged. Preparing for immediate deployment. ]

The Warden Units replied.

Just like that, the humanoid machines carried the sealed Sculptures toward the Portal Hall, which had various Gates connected to multiple shelters controlled by Shane.

As the Sculptures passed through the gates one by one, Jillian ensured that no accident happened.

She watched until the last unit disappeared into the portal before she heaved a sigh of relief.

She then informed Shane about this.

[ Jillian: Commander Shane, confirmation complete. Thirteen Sculptures have been crafted. The remaining two are in progress. Distribution has begun. Three were sent to the Eclipse Domain, three to Silver Mine Camp, three to Springriver Manor, two to Blood Talon Shelter, and two remain here in New Genesis Shelter for reinforcement. ]

[ Shane: Excellent work, Jillian. Those Sculptures might be the deciding factor before the next wave. Make sure Victor and Adrian get some rest when they're done. If they need something, make sure to give it to them. ]

[ Jillian: Understood, Commander. If you have any orders, just let me know. ]

After going out of the Portal Hall, a faint but distinct aroma wafted through the air.

"…Wait, is that… grilled prawns?"

Her stomach grumbled almost on cue.

The scent was rich and buttery. It was carrying that smoky fragrance that only came from freshly cooked seafood.

It was so out of place in the middle of the Red Night that she almost thought she was imagining it. But as she walked past the corridor leading out of the Portal Hall, the source became clear.

Several survivors were gathered near the logistics section, where the food reserves and rationing area were located.

There, the cooks were busy grilling enormous prawns over large steel trays…

Some were already laid neatly on metal trays, garnished with herbs and salt.

Jillian blinked. "Ah… right. The commander bought those."

She could still recall Shane bragging a few weeks ago after the Auction Event. He had won the bid for an entire shipment of these large prawns, enough to feed ten thousand people, claiming it was "strategic morale food."

At the time, she thought he was joking.

Now, she couldn't deny it was working.

'I guess we still have some time to eat…'
