+++ Lieutenant Hans Hoffman +++
"Then die."
Immediately, the Calamity of Hate's fiery monsters—a wolf, a bull, and two dragons, all rushed straight at Hans' direction.
He had very little time to even respond.
All he could do was open fire with his main gun, before dodging and retreating. The burning inferno around him intensified, with one of the monsters nearly biting off his mech's legs.
Luckily, he managed to escape it just in time, but not without suffering significant structural damage to his mech.
Alarms blared on his screens, the system practically screaming at him about the possibility of his mech's components shutting down after being fried.
Of course, Hans ignored it. He pushed onward, activating [ARCANE AUTOFABRICATOR] and the Peacemaker's onboard repair mechanisms to fix the damage.
In the meantime, he continued leveraging his mech's speed and agility to get out of Hate's attack radius. She was charging straight at him with fury and bloodlust, so that even at sixty kilometers per hour, she was still catching up to him.
He watched as a dragon made out of flames roared behind him. The damned thing was hungry, as if they wanted to devour him whole.
But I can't let that happen so easily.
Soon, he heard the characteristic click of a new belt loaded into his double coaxials. They were both [MG24, Anti-Demon Cryofreze] rounds, something that Hans hadn't had a chance to try out yet.
But now, it was time.
He turned his turret to the rear, took his first target, the dragon spirit fire creature thing that was closest to his tail, and opened fire.
Blue colored bullets rippled through the battlefield, each one of them zipping through the burning monsters that Hate summoned.
And when it struck them, the bullets exploded into these pulses of freezing energy. The dragon monster he shot wailed and flailed as it lost momentum, parts of it were deleted completely after being frozen in a second then melted into vapors a second afterward.
There it is! Their weakness!
He could have probably used [MG24, Anti-Demon Water] rounds for this, but Hans thought that it might not work with Hate herself.
Unlike those spirits, she definitely wasn't just a ball of flames turned into a spirit beast. So, he decided to go with this option, so that he could have both the perks of taking out fire and the ability to freeze and slow her down.
His decision from earlier fully paid off.
He managed to continue retreating as Hate was forced to recalibrate her strategy. He practically littered her creations with gunfire to delete them, the beasts screaming in pain as they were mowed down.
Hans even somewhat laughed at the display. The Calamity of Hate, seeing her monsters get mauled to death, was utterly flabbergasted by Hans' display of overwhelming violence.
Her face turned red, she snarled, and she raged at him, shouting curses as she tried to dodge his bullets and get to him.
If she couldn't kill him with his summons, it seemed that this calamity demon decided that it would be best to simply slice Hans' mech wide open with her scythe.
A bold strategy.
Hans pulled his mech into a hard turn back into Fort Patricia.
But I won't let it.
"Grey Knight!" Hate snarled as she readied her scythe. "Face me, you cowardly fool!"

+++ Alizée Amboise +++
"Don't go too far into endangering yourself, okay?"
"Okay!"
Those were the parting words she gave to Lady Adelyn before she jumped out of the Diligence to deal with the monster in front of her.
Unfortunately, it seemed that Alizée wouldn't have a chance to make that promise true.
The Calamity of Avarice, Cardinal Niccolo Zorzi, let out a powerful growl after Alizée's declaration about her intent to kill him.

While she steeled herself, Alizée felt fear gnawing through her spine as she looked up at the titanic beast.
Fight, fight, fight!
"W-what…a girl?" A grim-faced soldier clutching a musket croaked from her side. She looked at the man.
He was badly injured, afraid, and definitely close to his breaking point. But, upon seeing Alizée in her ideal's armor, he immediately snarled and began shouting at the top of his lungs.
"Bastard! Don't you dare touch her! Die! Die!"
A few soldiers followed the musketeer from behind, using their guns to deter the monster on top of the building's rooftop. Unfortunately, their guns did very little but create superficial wounds.
Adults…they all reacted that way whenever they saw Alizée. Even when she was someone bearing the title of 'Angel of Purity', and even if everyone already knew of the girl who killed the Calamity of Desire, this was how they always reacted.
They always wanted her to back off, to protect her, to keep her out of the fight.
And in the process, all that happens is they endanger themselves.
One of the soldiers was already running in her direction, calling out to her to 'get out of the combat zone' and to 'run'.
But she gritted her teeth, taking a ready stance to jump upwards.
"All of you stay back!" She shouted. "As I said, I, the Angel of Purity, will deal with this monster!"
"You little brat! How dare you think that you can challenge me—?!"
Blood flowed from the monster's face as Alizée suddenly jumped up high, summoning a second sword and dual-wielding it to cut a chunk off Avarice's face.
In response, the monster's claws swung in her direction, but she parried them in time before using [BLINK STEP] to back off.
"W-what?!"
"She can do that?"
"S-she's just a girl!"
"I said stand back!" Alizée gritted her teeth as she landed on a nearby rooftop. "If you wish to help me out, stay safe and open fire from the rear."
She charged in again at Avarice, using her best to parry the monster's strikes while attacking on her own. Rubble and debris flew from the buildings that they fought on, alongside blood and body parts.
Within a minute of fighting, Alizée felt herself being covered by the monster's blood. One time, she was even struck by its claw, slicing through her armor and body as she was sent flying to Fort Patricia's walls.
But, emerging from the cracks and smoke, she picked herself up and readied her swords.
I have to keep fighting.
I have to.
Otherwise, this guy's buddy will kill Sir Hans.
The idea of that alone made Alizée's blood go cold. Sir Hans, the person she now considered somewhat of an adoptive father, just like with Lady Adelyn, mattered so much to her.
That man always charged headfirst into danger and deadly situations just to protect her and Lady Adelyn.
Now, he has almost gotten himself sandwiched between the jaws of two calamities.
But I stopped one of them before they harmed Sir Hans.
All that was left now was to keep doing it.
The enemy was now bloodied and battered, all because of her weapons.
It was time to prove again that she, Alizée Amboise, wasn't just some harmless little girl for everyone to dote on.
She was here, at the final battle for mankind's survival.
"And I'll stop you monsters here!"
"Come at me," Avarice charged forward. "I'll crush you, you cute little rabbit!"
Her blades met his claws again.

+++ Captain Adelyn von Wittenstein +++
Fort Patricia was now badly defended.
With allied guns and soldiers killed or disabled by Hate and Avarice's attack, Adelyn was forced to first respond to an enemy counterattack.
On the fields, thousands of aberrant monsters appeared, all of them heading straight into Fort Patricia's walls.
In conjunction with that, the enemy's artillery was throwing all that they had into the fortress's walls, creating breaches that couldn't be repaired or replaced.
Adelyn knew what would happen. Reinforcements were going to take time to move into Fort Patricia, and they were now facing two calamities and these monsters.
They appeared after a beacon from Serenus shot to the skies, causing the land to shift in front of the city's walls. It seemed that the pope was hiding demonic, or perhaps undead creations under the city.
I have to stop them, on my own.
She knew that Hans was preoccupied with the Calamity of Hate, while Alizée was currently dueling the Calamity of Avarice.
On the other hand, the remnants of the assault force that took Fort Patricia were still barely organized, so they could only take panicked potshots at the approaching horde and at the Calamity of Avarice inside the city walls.
It was just her, therefore, who stood here. If she allowed these creatures to break through their lines, they would wreak havoc on the fortress and wipe out Alizée and the soldiers inside.
On the other hand, if she didn't take their attention off Hans, who was still desperately battling the Calamity of Hate, he'd be effectively disabled.
His greatest strength was mobility. Having enemies surround him would be a death sentence.
Right…let's do this then.
Loading a [120mm, Anti-Demon Cryofreeze] round, Adelyn's mech rushed outside of the fortress's walls, intentionally summoning her ideal to its fullest extent to attract the demons.
She wanted all of them to come and face her.
Then, with her round ready, she aimed it straight at the monsters leading the rest of the horde. She took a deep breath, readying herself for the battle.
Then, she pulled the trigger.
A massive explosion tore through the monster's ranks, freezing dozens of them in one go, their bodies shattering when the monsters behind them inevitably ran through them.
It worked!
Adelyn immediately switched to her machine guns to thin the horde down, before firing another cryofreeze round, then another, then another.
But soon, the horde was only eight hundred meters from her. There was no support coming her way. Even the soldiers on the advancing assault trenches could barely offer any support.
They were still trying to place their long-range guns into forward positions.
Adelyn sighed. She had no choice. It was time.
She readied a [DIVINE JUDGEMENT] round.
