Lin Feng filled a small bucket with water and led Si Bao back. Two little fish were also placed in Si Bao's small pond. Si Bao was delighted.

Lin Feng went back and returned with two more small buckets of water.

Da Bao had already finished digging.

Er Bao showed no signs of hurry, still digging slowly and methodically.

San Bao, however, was about to cry in frustration. Without a word, she kept her head down and dug persistently.

Er Bao, unhurried and silent, just kept on digging. Zhang Yuxi and Lin Feng's hearts ached for him. Er Bao was a meticulous worker, and his slow pace made the task even more time-consuming.

Lin Feng asked softly, "Er Bao, do you want Daddy to help you?"

Er Bao shook his head. "No thanks, Daddy! I can do it by myself!"

Lin Feng thought for a moment, then stood up. "Then Daddy will get back to work, okay?"

Er Bao nodded.

The personalities of the four babies became clear after spending just a little time with them.

Nan Nan's mom greeted Zhang Yuxi. "Hello, this is my daughter, Nan Nan, and I'm her mom."

Zhang Yuxi smiled slightly. "Hello!"

Nan Nan's mom was both surprised and impressed. "You're truly amazing. It must have been very difficult when you were pregnant with them."

While they were chatting, Lin Feng had already prepared the second batch of barbecue.

Zhang Yuxi invited Nan Nan's mom to eat with them, but she declined.

Luckily, Lin Feng was an exceptional cook and had gradually been reintroducing spice into her diet, always keeping it well within her comfort zone.

By the time Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi had finished eating, it was already four or five in the afternoon. Lin Feng heated the yam porridge he had brought by placing it in a small bowl and covering it with aluminum foil.

"Babies, time for Fan Fan!"

Zhang Yuxi took the babies to wash their hands and faces, then called out to Nan Nan's mom. "Nan Nan's mom, please watch the children!"

Nan Nan's mom acknowledged her, and Zhang Yuxi took the babies to eat.

After their babies had finished, Nan Nan's mom brought over some of their barbecue for everyone to try.

"Nan Nan's husband grilled this. The taste is pretty good, you should try some."

They had only prepared enough for themselves and didn't have much extra, so it was just enough for a taste. But Lin Feng had prepared plenty and still had some left over, so they exchanged some as a friendly gesture.

After eating, the babies went to look at their little fish again. As the sky began to darken, Lin Feng placed smokeless mosquito coils in front of each tent and sprayed some mosquito repellent.

For dinner, Lin Feng heated up egg fried rice for them, also using aluminum foil. Everyone was mostly full from the barbecue already, so after they ate some of the rice, there was still quite a bit left over. So, he gave the rest to Nan Nan's family. They figured Nan Nan could eat it, since her parents had only brought water and bread for her, which wasn't very nutritious.

As dusk fell, each family retreated to their own tent. Zhang Yuxi washed the babies' little faces and feet with water. The children rolled about happily on the bedding.

When Lin Feng came back from pouring out the water, he said, "Honey, call me if you need to go to the bathroom during the night."

Zhang Yuxi nodded shyly and began telling them stories. The babies had now started to ask some very curious questions.

"Mommy, why does the big bad wolf want to eat people? Can't he eat other little animals?"

"Why do some animals have to eat meat? Why can't they eat grass?"

"Why didn't they notice grandma was different? If Big White turned into Mommy, I would definitely know!"

"Mommy, if the wolf eats a whole person, would its tummy get really big? Would it explode?"

Zhang Yuxi shot Lin Feng a pleading look. She really didn't know how to answer.

Lin Feng beckoned, and the babies rolled over to him like little balls.

"It's because some animals can only survive by eating specific foods," Lin Feng explained. "If we tried to eat tree leaves, that wouldn't work, right? We're different from them. Many animals can only eat certain things."

"As for why the big bad wolf ate grandma, it's because he's super naughty! The moment he sees a person, he just wants to GOBBLE them up! Maybe he thinks people are tasty. As for the real reason, Daddy can't guess."

Lin Feng patiently answered all their questions. Finally, he patted their little bottoms and gave them each a kiss.

Finally, night settled in. A solar-powered lantern hung from the top of the tent, casting a soft glow. This was the babies' first time sleeping in a tent, and they were too excited to sleep. Listening to the frogs croaking outside, they lay motionless with their eyes wide open.

"Daddy, what's that sound outside?"

"Those are the sounds of frogs and insects," Lin Feng replied.

Er Bao asked worriedly, "Will they crawl in here?"

Upon hearing this, San Bao shuddered, clearly frightened. The other two, however, got excited, hoping to see a frog.

Lin Feng reassured Er Bao and San Bao, "Don't be afraid, they won't come in. This tent will protect us very well. Now go to sleep, it's getting late!"

Finally, the babies couldn't fight off their sleepiness any longer and drifted off one by one.

One by one they finished, until only San Bao was left. Her trips always took at least five minutes. San Bao sat on her small potty, wrapped in the jacket and leaning against Lin Feng. Her eyes were closed as if she were still asleep, but she was actually awake—just too lazy to open them.

After San Bao finished, Lin Feng carried her back to her sleeping bag. The sleeping bags were plenty warm, so there was no fear of the babies getting cold.
