My College Teacher is My Children's Mom

Chapter 256: Return to Modu

Soon, winter break arrived.

An Lan took the opportunity to return to Modu with Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi. This way, she could also help take care of the babies. Before leaving, she bought the plane tickets for that day in advance. The store was always busiest during the New Year, and An Lan didn't feel at ease unless she was there to handle things herself.

Two hours later, the plane arrived at Modu International Airport.

Zhang Fuyong and Zhao Lizhen waited anxiously and expectantly at the arrival gate. Their flight was known for occasional delays and sometimes even early arrivals, so they had come to the airport an hour ahead of time.

"Here they come, here they come!" Zhao Lizhen exclaimed, as giddy as a child.

Zhang Fuyong, who had been looking at his phone, immediately raised his head. "Where? Where?"

Zhao Lizhen chided him, "I told you to use your phone less, but you never listen. Now your eyes are going bad, aren't they?"

What does that have to do with me looking at my phone? There are so many people at the gate, I can't see a thing from back here, Zhang Fuyong thought.

But in the next second, he spotted his daughter and son-in-law standing head and shoulders above the crowd. The couple's stunning looks and extraordinary presence, along with their unbelievably adorable quadruplets, instantly made them the center of attention.

Zhao Lizhen muttered to herself, Why do I feel like our son-in-law… is getting more and more handsome?

"You're right!" Zhang Fuyong agreed after taking a look.

Zhao Lizhen called out, "Yu Xi, Lin Feng, An Lan, my grandbabies!"

Lin Feng now held a baby in each arm, feeling no strain at all. In his left arm was the still-sleepy third baby, and in his right was the fourth baby, who was insisting on being held. Zhang Yuxi was holding the second baby, and An Lan held the first.

This exhausted An Lan. Her arms were already sore just from the short time since they had arrived.

The fourth baby, as always, was the most energetic one. He ran forward, PITTER-PATTER. "Grandpa, Grandma! We're here!"

Zhang Fuyong lifted the fourth baby, who had thrown himself into his arms.

"Did you miss Grandpa?"

"Yes!" the fourth baby answered in a bright, clear voice.

Zhao Lizhen hurriedly asked, "And did you miss Grandma?"

"Yes!"

Zhang Fuyong beamed with joy.

"Come, let Grandpa see if my little guy has gotten even more handsome!" He smiled. "Yep, still just as cute and handsome as ever!"

The fourth baby giggled.

An Lan handed the drowsy first baby over to Zhao Lizhen. "Auntie, can you hold him? This little guy is so heavy my arms are going numb. I'll go get the luggage."

"Wow, you're right," Zhao Lizhen said as she took the baby. "This little one is solid! All this baby fat didn't grow for nothing." She coaxed him, "Wake up, sleepyhead. Look who's here? Do you remember me?"

The first baby slowly opened his eyes. "Grandma?"

Zhao Lizhen was delighted. "Oh, you do remember Grandma! Did you miss me?"

The first baby nodded.

The second baby in Zhang Yuxi's arms also woke up and looked around in confusion.

"Mom, where are we?"

"We've arrived at Grandma and Grandpa's. Look… who are they?"

The second baby perked up. "Wow, Grandma, Grandpa!"

The elderly couple responded in unison, "Yes, dear!"

Zhang Yuxi took the third baby from Lin Feng, but the little girl didn't want to walk on the ground and tried to cling to her father again.

Lin Feng saw this and said, "I'll go help An Lan with the luggage."

An Lan had kept this trip a secret, so no one knew she was coming. Zhao Lizhen and Zhang Fuyong only found out when they saw her at the airport. An Lan had wanted to give her parents a surprise.

For the babies' safety, child safety seats had been installed in the cars. Her parents each drove a car, so with An Lan, there was just enough space for everyone.

They dropped An Lan off at her home first.

Upon reaching her neighborhood, An Lan felt both excited and nervous. It's been so long since I've been home. They'll definitely be happy to see me.

"Director Lin, thank you for everything," An Lan said. "I'll head inside now."

Lin Feng smiled and waved goodbye.

Half an hour later, Lin Feng drove into a villa community.

"We're home!"

Zhang Yuxi got out of the car and looked at the building in front of her, feeling as if a lifetime had passed. Two years ago, she had run away from home, desperate and helpless. She had acted recklessly without considering the consequences, only realizing how naive she had been after facing the harshness of reality.

Yet, it was precisely because of this that she had stumbled upon the father of her children and started her own happy life. Looking back now, so much had changed.

"Don't just stand there gawking. Let's go inside," Zhao Lizhen said softly, sensing what was on her daughter's mind.

Zhang Yuxi nodded.

After entering the house, Zhang Yuxi discovered that they had moved the living room coffee table, Zhang Fuyong's collections, and other things out of the way to make space for children's toys.

When the babies saw all the new toys, they didn't rush to play immediately but looked toward Lin Feng instead.

Lin Feng smiled slightly. "Go on, go play!"

"Come on, I'll show you to your room," Zhao Lizhen said to the family.

When she opened the door, Zhang Yuxi saw the room was arranged much the same as when she had left. The only difference was the larger bed. On the side that wasn't against the wall, a safety rail had been added to prevent the children from rolling off.

The villa had four bedrooms in total: a room for the housekeeper, a guest room, the master bedroom, and a secondary bedroom. The master bedroom she was staying in now was slightly larger than the one at their Cuihu Villa.

"You two take your time unpacking. I'll go start dinner," Zhao Lizhen said before hurrying away eagerly.

Of course, "making dinner" was just an excuse; she was really itching to play with her grandchildren. My goodness, they're all so adorable!

Zhang Yuxi sat on the bed, looking around as her nose tingled with emotion.

Lin Feng began unpacking things for the adults and the babies. After finishing, he noticed his wife's mood.

"What's wrong, honey?"

"Nothing," Zhang Yuxi said, her voice catching slightly. "I was just thinking about how thoughtless I was back then."

Lin Feng embraced her. "I know what you're thinking. That's all in the past. What matters is that our whole family is together now. That's what's important."

Zhang Yuxi looked at Lin Feng. "Honey, what do you think would have happened if we'd never met?"

I'd probably still be living in that old house, struggling to raise four children all by myself. I'd be living a meager, anxiety-ridden life.

"There are no 'what-ifs,'" Lin Feng consoled her. "The fact is, we did meet. Perhaps it was all fated to be."

Zhang Yuxi also found it quite amazing. Perhaps their fate had truly brought them together.
