The moment Isolde appeared at the entrance of the classroom, she got the attention of everyone. Those who first saw her either gasped or tapped those close to them.
"Our Queen is back," one of them muttered.
"She's stunning," said another who couldn't control his mouth. But Isolde's eyes were on Godfrey, who wore his earbuds and was currently reading a book.
She went straight to his desk and stood before it, but seconds went by and Godfrey didn't even tilt his head. Finally, getting fed up after a while, Isolde waved her hand before the pages of his book.
Her actions earned her a placid look from Godfrey.
"Please don't act like this." Isolde's words caused a mini uproar in the classroom, but everyone made sure their voices were controlled.
"Do you think it's because of what happened at the Grand Party? Isolde is Manhattan's Queen and a member of Nexus, does this mean she's now enemies with Godfrey?" a girl asked another.
"Isolde is close to Jon. I mean, everyone knows they've known each other for a long time. She's going to have to choose a side, Godfrey and Jon can't coexist in the same place," the other girl replied.
"I hope she chooses to side with Godfrey." The girl didn't even finish her statement when she saw Godfrey walk out of the class.
Isolde dropped her bag at her desk and went after him.
In the corridor, Godfrey was stunned when Isolde embraced him from behind. It made him pause.
He shut his eyes. Random thoughts of what Isolde discussed with Jon, or the fact that she might side with him, poked his mind from every side. It was a kind of feeling that said it was better to cut off now and face the ugly reality with a prepared mind later on.
But the negative thoughts in his head cleared up as she embraced him. A small, guilt-ridden smile appeared on his face as he tilted his head to the girl latched behind him.
"Shooting Star released a new song, and I've been listening to it."
Isolde's eyes widened. "W-What?!"
He grabbed her hand, and they went to the rooftop where he sat, backing the railing and tapping the spot beside him, with one earbud in his hand.
Isolde bit her lower lip. Godfrey's handsome face and the allure of Shooting Star's song were too tempting, but she looked at the door, knowing they were supposed to have their test from today.
"We have a test," she said, trying to convince herself, but sat down and took the earbud. Her eyelids closed when she began to listen to the song.
Godfrey chuckled, lifting his head to the sunny sky and exhaled. Just then, the door opened and one of their classmates appeared. "Mr. Edwin is in the class!"
"What?!" Both Godfrey and Isolde shot to their feet, racing down the staircase.
When they appeared at the classroom, Edwin glared intensely at them from the moment they stepped into the class until they sat down.
It was worse for Godfrey as Isolde also glared at him.
"Your phones and backpacks will be returned to you after the test."
The moment Edwin said that, Godfrey noticed his backpack and phone were gone, including his earbuds, and the text slip appeared on each person's desk.
He picked up a pen, wiggling it in between his fingers while reading the first question.
Amongst the options below, one is correct. There are two types of summons in existence:
A) Primal & Chimeric
B) True & False
C) Hybrid & Tribrid
D) Land & Water
Godfrey's eyes gleamed when he saw hybrid. The types of summons known were indeed Primal and Chimeric, but his summons had all been Hybrid. He had come to figure out that it had to be the beast that was alchemically fused to them.
The knights could be considered Primal summons, and the beasts used to alter them were Chimeric. Black-Out State gave them access to this Hybrid state, where they could use both powers as one, thus being strong enough to handle foes above their original strength.
That all aside, he picked the first option.
After answering some other questions, Godfrey suddenly noticed Lucy's seat was empty. It was at this moment he realized she wasn't in school.
At the end of their test, everyone went about talking about how they did during the test, while some began to prepare for the next. A few slept and used their phones.
"Hey guys, check your phones! There's something in the class group! It's… pfft!" Siegfried couldn't finish as he burst into laughter.
The class went wild as everyone checked their phones and saw the video of Sam beating up his little sister while throwing curses at her.
"All she knows how to do is get beaten. I can't believe she's in our class," Maldred snickered.
"Is this supposed to be a sibling fight or a sibling beat-down? These are the kind of pathetic people that are drawn to Godfrey," Cecil, who sat on Snow's desk chatting with him, said softly, while Snow watched the video silently.
He shot a glance at Godfrey and scowled inwardly.
Some students hurriedly brought their phones to Godfrey as he wasn't in their group. The moment he saw it, Godfrey's eyes flashed.

After school, Godfrey went to the girls' dormitory with Isolde and a girl in the class who was close to Lucy. Godfrey watched her knock on the door, calling out to Lucy several times, but there was no response.
"Try calling her phone," Isolde said.
The girl tried, and just when it rang, it was silenced.
Godfrey landed a Spartan kick against the door, destroying the lock as the door swung right open.
They walked into the lobby and found Lucy peeking out of her room, shocked at the sound of the door being slammed open.
"Lucy!" Godfrey's eyes narrowed. His stern voice made her involuntarily open the door, revealing her heavily bruised face.
It was even worse than the video. Clearly, she had received more beatings. Noticing the glances she gave at the other door, he knew the one who gave her the new bruises had to be her dormmate.
"She hasn't been healed. Who locked you in here?" Isolde asked, a heavy frown on her face.
"Let's leave for the nurse first," Godfrey said before Lucy could reply.
Just then, a yell pierced the air. "Who broke my door?! Lucy, I hope you did not leave that room because if you do, I'll dip your head inside the squatty potty!"
Beatrice, the third-year student and Lucy's dormmate, walked into the room with Sam behind her. Their expressions changed when they saw Godfrey and Isolde staring at them.
Sam's eyes went wide.
"What are you doing here? This is a matter concerning siblings," Beatrice said curtly, but Isolde appeared before her in an instant, her hand raised.
"Isolde!" Godfrey bellowed, alarmed that Isolde would get another suspension, because once that slap landed, Beatrice would be sent flying through the wall, or even more, seeing the disgust written on Isolde's face.
Sam gulped while Beatrice fell to her knees, the gust of Isolde's movement blowing hard against her face. Isolde's glare bore down on her, suffocating her.
She honestly did not believe Isolde would react like this after being suspended. Beatrice had thought, like most of the third years, that Isolde would act like a true queen and distance herself from Godfrey after her returnz but it seemed like she had distanced herself from them instead.
Sam shivered as he took two steps back. "I was angry, I did not—!"
Isolde slammed his head against the door.
"So am I," she spat.
"Stop." Godfrey held her arm.
Edwin walked into the room, his eyes locking on everyone before settling on Sam and Beatrice. "Did you forget such actions are prohibited during this period?"
"You reported?!" Sam's eyes widened.
Godfrey shrugged. "You broke school rules."
Edwin folded his arms. "Let's go see the headmaster."
He nodded at Godfrey and vanished with the two terrified upperclassmen.
"So that's why you went to the staff building before heading here," Isolde raised a surprised eyebrow.

Godfrey stood in the nurse's office, both hands buried in his pockets. Isolde sat on a chair, her leg crossed one over the other while the nurse was beside Godfrey, examining Lucy.
Although Lucy was completely healed, the nurse was concerned she was affected mentally. After all, she was beaten by her own elder brother and locked inside the room for an entire day.
"I wasn't around, but have you found a name for the club?" Lucy's question caught Isolde's attention.
"What club?" Her ears perked.
Godfrey turned toward her. "We're about to create a club, something that has to do with missions like Nexus, but we'll be dealing with Green Gate dungeons. At least that's the idea for now, since I can't ever enter the Nexus Club."
"I'm in." Isolde's swift reply made him smile.
Lucy also smiled, while the nurse squinted.
If she heard correctly, Godfrey was trying to create a club that would potentially oppose the Nexus Club.
Had he gone insane? Having a talking summon didn't mean he could go against a group made up of monstrous talents.
The door opened and Edwin walked in, and his words shook her.
"They've been suspended for the rest of the semester."
'They?' The nurse's eyes widened. 'Who could be suspended during this important period? Doesn't that mean their total points won't be able to meet up with the minimum? They might be kicked out of Manhattan!'
