I really don't understand how someone like him could become a saint. Isn't it better to let the peak master of the Sword Peak, Althea, remain the saint?
"Haha, Seraphina, it seems I didn't teach you enough when I crippled you a few days ago," Ethan sneered, mockery thick in his tone.
"You're just a waste in the Tribulation Transcendence realm. Who gave you the courage to speak so boldly?"
"Lyralei?" Ethan's eyes narrowed, a trace of contempt flickering through his expression.
"It's absurd. You can invite Lyralei to come to Noble Sun City. Do you think she's dare to speak loudly?"
Listening to Ethan's taunts, Seraphina's anger surged.
Her realm was not high—yet how strong could Ethan be?
If you do not reach Mahayana, you'll become an ant in the end!
Ethan and she, they were just ants—fifty steps apart, yet both sneering at each other's insignificance.
Moreover, the other top-tier geniuses in Skyreach Territory—they weren't that strong, merely cultivating longer than her.
In ten years, she would surpass them all, become the greatest prodigy of Skyreach!
Her mind sharpened, and her gaze turned cold and determined as she looked at Ethan.
"Ethan, you, as a traitor, have no right to speak about our Azure Origin Dao Sect's affairs!"
Snap!
A clear, crisp sound echoed through the hall.
Seraphina froze, shock and anger flickering in her eyes as her cheek was slapped hard.
The mark of the palm was visible, red and swollen.
The attacker was not Ethan.
But a seemingly innocent girl with fiery red hair, who had been silently sitting and drinking tea, suddenly moved.
Her orange-red eyes burned with murderous intent as she kept slapping Seraphina.
"Smelly woman, who do you think you are? How dare you talk like that to my father?!" Solara spat coldly.
Seraphina's head jerked sideways, her cheeks burning with pain and disbelief.
Why?
Why did a seemingly harmless girl possess such strength?
Her entire body was almost dizzy from the force.
She couldn't even see her moves clearly.
Most shocking of all, the girl claimed she was Ethan's daughter?
What's going on?
What's happened to this world?
Before Seraphina could even speak, a second slap echoed.
Her face was now equally red on both sides, the palm prints symmetrical and ridiculous-looking.
"Smelly woman, do you even know your place?"
"You dare to be so presumptuous in the Tribulation Transcendence realm? Do you know how heavy your words are?" Solara scolded with childish fury.
Those words stabbed into Seraphina's heart like a dagger.
Her pride, her dignity—all crushed under the weight of this little girl's innocence and strength.
"Hahaha, Ethan, and you—both of you—are asking for this," Seraphina clenched her teeth tightly, clutching the jade slip Cain Ashenvale had given her.
Though she was reluctant to ask Cain Ashenvale for help so early, desperate times demanded desperate measures.
She made her decision—tonight, she would invite Mr. Cain for tea.
She remembered Ethan's arrival at the teahouse just now.
She had also seen Uncle Edwin upstairs drinking tea.
The timing was perfect to see what these two were discussing.
Cain Ashenvale was downstairs. He was kind to her—surely he would come quickly to help.
And indeed, within moments, a golden figure swooped from the second floor, breaking through the air and tearing down the door curtain of the private room.
The movement startled everyone in Fragrant Zither Pavilion.
They hurriedly came out from their boxes, casting curious and wary glances toward Ethan and the others.
Why not enjoy watching a spectacle while drinking tea?
Ethan, sensing the fierce aura radiating from the attacker, stepped forward and placed Solara behind him.
He slapped out with his palm.
Boom~!
A muffled sound rung out—shockwaves dispersed, dust flew wildly, and shattering glass flew everywhere.
Ethan retracted his hand and looked directly at the man before him.
He was tall—handsome, talented, and noble in appearance.
The girl, Seraphina, was trembling like a frightened child in his arms, her watery eyes filled with fear.
It was as if this person had performed a hero's deed, rescuing a distressed beauty.
"Is Miss Seraphina alright?" Cain Ashenvale asked softly, his gaze gentle but carried a warm concern.
"She—"
"Who dares to lay a hand on her? I will crush his hand!" Cain Ashenvale's voice was tender but commanding, his hand softly caressing Seraphina's face.
Seeing this, Seraphina hurriedly broke free from Cain Ashenvale's embrace.
She lowered her head shyly and whispered, "I am not that strong, so I trouble Mr. Cain."
"Hahaha, it's just a small matter," Cain Ashenvale said with a smile.
He liked Seraphina's appearance—the way she pretended to struggle but secretly liked his attention.
Though she appeared cold and arrogant as usual, in bed—certainly—a different kind of charm emerged.
Ethan clapped, admiring the scene of a hero saving a beauty.
"Brother, bullying women is not right," Cain Ashenvale shook his head.
"Your Excellency," Ethan said with a grin, "There's no need to speak for this matter. In the jungle law, the strongest rules. Strength is respect. You understand this better than anyone."
Cain Ashenvale's eyes narrowed, sneering as if he heard Ethan's hidden meaning.
"Miss Seraphina is my friend," Cain Ashenvale stated calmly.
"If she is bullied, I will step in and help her, She must have slapped her just now"
"If you cut off her arm, I might let you go," Cain Ashenvale's voice turned cold with threat.
The space was too small to continue fighting.
Ethan pulled Solara and leapt out of the window onto a nearby roof.
Following him, Cain Ashenvale sneered and jumped after.
"Miss Seraphina, come with me," Cain Ashenvale beckoned.
Seraphina nodded and obediently followed.
This incident proved Cain Ashenvale's attitude toward her.
It seemed he truly cared for her.
In her heart, she made a bold decision—after all this, she would use Cain Ashenvale's kindness to win him over.
Why not?
As for Edwin, he persisted in seeking Ethan.
But if Cain truly killed Ethan and him, it would be his own choice.
He couldn't complain.
As for others in the sect, they had nothing to do with him.
