The King and the Princess

The light passed through the curtains, the glow reflecting off the special white marble floor striped in an artistic pattern.
The room's surroundings reveal a hybrid elegance, modern yet country-like, if one could say so.
Lucia's eyes opened slowly, adapting to the ambient light, the touch of the Egyptian silk sheets convinced him that she was still asleep and having a dream that was difficult to describe.
In the end, she remembered what had happened recently, she had been kidnapped and locked in a dark place and was later sold at auction, this memory still scared her deeply.
The ceiling was quite high in her eyes, on the other side of the window, Lucia saw a calm that contrasted with the noises of people bidding on her.
Stopping for a moment to enjoy the dream, there was no noise pollution that was characteristic of his big city, cars, pedestrians and loud music, a silence accompanied by the smell of beautiful flowers.
Lucia tried to sit up, but even something as simple as that became difficult, her body ached, her kidnappers were not kind, she had remained in an uncomfortable position for too long.
"I was sold?" She muttered thinking about recent events.
It was then that the doorknob of the room turned and the door was opened gently, an elderly woman entered, she was dressed in black and white with slightly gold edges, behind her, two young women in uniform were carrying towels on a tray.
The three of them walked rhythmically to the bed where Lucia was and bowed deeply.
"Your Highness, you're finally awake. I hope you rested well."
Lucia blinked in perplexity, what was happening?
"What did you just call me? Your Highness?" Lucia looked to see if there was anyone else besides her.
"The King ordered that you be treated this way," the lady who looked like the senior maid said in a reverent manner.
Confused Lucia looked around the room, a gold-framed mirror, white flowers on a glass table and an elegant piano were in her field of vision, the room was large.
Everything I saw seemed perfect, strange, and very wrong.
The senior maid maintained a calm and very respectful tone as the two maids approached following instructions.
"The King has asked that you be introduced as the princess that your highness is, please allow us to serve you."
Lucia didn't have time to react or ask any questions, the maids grabbed her with professional gentleness and led her to another room, where warm steam and the pleasant scent of lavender filled the air.
Lucia saw a porcelain bathtub covered in beautiful petals. The bathtub was huge, she was sure all her friends would fit in it. She wondered what Monica would say if she saw such luxury.
She touched the water with her feet after the maids helped her take off her worn and ragged clothes, the bathtub looked like a lake, the bath was pleasant making the worry for Alex and his mother lessen a little.
When she emerged from her bath, the maid was already waiting with clothes prepared by the senior maid, or was it the King's butler?
"Your Highness, I hope you like it, the King insisted on choosing your outfit personally," the senior maid, or was it the housekeeper, said softly with admiration in her eyes.
Lucia didn't know what to think, much less what to say, questions flooded her head as she reluctantly allowed the maids to dress her.
The dress was blue, woven from imported silk with silver embroidery that reflected the light. The train of the dress dragged along the marble floor, and the lace sleeves created spectral figures.
A beautiful tiara was placed on her head. Lucia shivered. She wasn't a princess, so why was she being treated this way? Despite being extremely elegant, to the point of not recognizing herself in the mirror, she looked quite uncomfortable.
"I'm not a princess, so I would appreciate it if I wasn't treated this way, it's uncomfortable and quite old-fashioned." Lucia didn't mean to be disrespectful, but she couldn't take it anymore, she was a nurse.
"I am sorry to contradict your highness, but the King disagrees with your words and so do we." When the housekeeper said this, the other two maids nodded silently.
Lucia looked into the mirror to see a princess in the mirror who was very different from herself, only the eyes that displayed fear and worry were the same.
While one of the maids combed her beautiful black hair, Lucia's mind thought about Alex and her mother who slept peacefully in a coma, she missed them and her eyes reflected that.
Lucia rarely worried about her table, she was like that, if her brother and mother were well, it was enough.
"Your Highness," the ruler took Lucia out of her melancholy.
"The King is waiting for you," the ruler said for the third time, touching Lucia's delicate shoulders.
She nodded slightly, perhaps the so-called King would answer her questions.
Lucia's exciting steps echoed down the long corridor, the rhythms of her shoes contrasted with the silence that surrounded her, the walls were white and tall, ordered with golden frames, a red carpet stretched out in a path.
Portraits of various strange and rare spiders adorned the silent hallway.
The marble pillars supported the architecture that differed greatly from the modern style they opted for with discreet pillars, with each turn that Lucia made and whenever there was an employee, they bowed in reverence.
The perfectly aligned guards bowed their heads in respect and refused to look directly at Lucia.
"Your Highness"
Everyone greeted her in the same way, respect and reverence, whenever this title was addressed to her, Lucia felt her stomach tighten, this princess was not her.
The housekeeper walked with firm steps and a straight posture, Lucia quickened her steps, unable to contain the doubts in her heart.
"Why am I so horny?" Lucia had lost count of how many times she had asked this question.
"Your Highness is addressed this way because that is how the King sees you" and yet, the answer Lucia heard every time was the same or similar to say the least.
As Lucia walked forward, getting closer and closer to her destination, a beautiful melody slowly began to fill the air, strings of a distant, soft piano.
Lucia's heart beat fast, perhaps caused by the melody or by something she couldn't explain at the moment.
Finally, they entered a huge golden door, a pleasant smell startled Lucia's nostrils.
The housekeeper came forward and bowed.
"Your Highness, His Majesty the King awaits you." Lucia took a deep breath.
The room was spacious, light streamed in through the vast, impressively tall windows, and the aroma of coffee and warm bread filled the air, mingling with the scent of flowers in a porcelain vase.
In the center of the room was a long table covered in white linen, sitting at the head of the table was a man who looked like he had stepped out of an ancient Greek art painting.
The King read silently, his fingers gliding over the pages, his snow-white hair shining as it reflected the sun shining through the window.
He wore a white suit perfectly fitted to his figure, when Lucia entered, the King raised his eyes, the gesture casual, but the tension in Lucia's heart grew.
The King rose in a graceful movement and inclined his head slightly.
"Your Highness Princess of Camelot, it is a pleasure for this King to finally meet you,"
Lucia sighed internally, there was the title again.
"I'm sorry, but you must have made some mistake, I'm not a princess, I'm just a humble nurse."
The King placed the book he was reading on the table, his smile was discreet and enigmatic at the same time, it was difficult to tell if he was really smiling.
"If you are not a princess; I don't know what to call a King's sister other than princess."
The King gestured for Lucia to take a seat.
The setting was quite luxurious, English porcelain, impeccably cut fruit, linen napkins artistically folded into beautiful colorful flowers.
Lucia sat down hesitantly, the clinking of her cup the only sound that dared to break the silence.
The King looked at the girl with black but calm shoulders, unlike before, The King had black and white eyes like a human, if he was to be described as ordinary at all.
"Your Highness Princess of Camelot, I bought you" the words came out softly then, The King took a piece of red fruit to his mouth.
Seeing the confusion on the girl's face, he continued his words.
"Even if I bought you, it's not like I got you as a possession, I just did the King of Camelot a favor and got you out of the wrong hands, I believe he would have done it if I hadn't done it first"
"I'm sorry to inform you, but as I said before, I'm not a princess and this King of Camelot that you speak of, I've never seen him before" Lucia said trying to resolve the misunderstanding .
The King rested his elbows on the table, clasping his hands.
"Alex Wellny" the name came out of the King's mouth and when Lucia heard it, her eyes widened and her body shivered slightly.
