Chapter 50: Reinforcements

Reinforcements

50

There was no longer a King created to lead a swarm under the control of a spider queen, there was only a beast thirsty for combat and eager to devour anyone in its field of vision.

The beast attacked, running on paws as hard as metal. Its mobility was incredible, allowing it to do high speeds, quickly weave webs and do all sorts of things.

Alex attacked using his skill, swordsman lv2, his movements were precise and hit the target, however it was a real challenge to cut the legs were used as shields by the spider king.

The spider king's chest swelled so much that Alex had to retreat, the beast roared violently.

The huge mouth spat out a large amount of webs bathed in the authority of gluttony, the paws wove them into a huge net spreading everywhere, Alex jumped to avoid being caught by the web.

Gravitational Manipulation lv5 , Alex enveloped his body with his skill, his aura became so dense that it allowed him to float in the air, he had a bad feeling about the web network below.

Swinging on its webs, the spider king opened its mouth and concentrated a sphere of energy, Hope had obtained this ability when it devoured the human hunter.

The ball of energies was dark crimson, the concentration of energy made Alex shiver, even though he was now a star level 2, Alex still couldn't freely control his authority as much as someone at level 3 would, or simply someone with enough Hope.

Leveling up quickly was good, but it also comes with several drawbacks. If Alex had time to effectively learn how to use his skills, he wouldn't be in this situation.

Alex tried to use his skill, Gravitational Control Lv5 , to move through the air, but it was very difficult to do, the lack of practice was seriously hindering him, his movement in the air was clumsy and very slow.

The energy sphere that was thrown at Alex was full of corruption and devouring, if he was hit by it, the consequences would be too much for Alex to handle, the risk of losing his life was real.

And now that his MP was very low, there was no point in summoning his knights, if the skill worked it would already be a miracle, what to say about doing something to help.

Alex obtained his abilities very recently and his level rose too quickly. Alex didn't know the extent of his abilities and this was hurting him a lot. If he had a few months of training, he would be able to display even more power.

The thing that hurt Alex the most was that he was underestimating himself, he was much stronger than he could show, he knew very well that he was strong, but he wasn't just strong, he was very strong indeed.

Alex decided to combine his skills to defend the attack since he couldn't dodge in time.

Unbreakable Fate lv2 , granted him enough resilience to not despair, Gravitational Defense lv5 and Gravitational Control lv5 , Alex distort gravity in front of him.

He had to use his 131 point strength attribute in his hands to the fullest, the two screamed using all the air in their lungs, Alex was stained with blood, using this combination of skills consumed a lot of his MP .

He was having trouble keeping gravitational control active to be able to float, the webs that enveloped the battlefield were a sand skill that caused constant damage.

Rouke couldn't fight anymore, he had given his all, they all had in fact, but they were only human, and no matter how strong they were to stay alive, there was a limit.

Of the 14 warriors that had been sent to the Blue Spirit members , 4 of them had been killed, but at what cost?

19 Hunters had abandoned Alex to save their lives, but only 12 remained now, 7 of them had been killed, but only 4 of the enemies were dead, unfortunately for them it was all they could do.

If it weren't for Tiffany's new spatial abilities, perhaps more of them would be dead by now, and luckily for them, at no point did the warriors want to kill the Blue Spirit Guild members.

The mission they had received was to capture all living humans so that their king could feed, however, the resistance that the humans offered was above their expectations, 4 of them were dead.

Even though some of their companions were dead, the warriors did not deviate from their mission, they had all died under direct orders from their king, it was an honor to die under such a command.

And in the end, the humans were captured and that was the only thing that really mattered.

12 Humans were tied to cocoons made of golden webs, faced with such a feat, none of them would be able to free themselves considering the feats they had demonstrated.

The cocoons were being carried by mutant spiders, there were hundreds of them following the spider warriors, they were using some as mounts, their legs were fast enough that they deigned to mount them.

However, something happened, the sky turned dark and the warriors felt two human auras coming quickly towards them, the power that the humans exuded was enough to make even spiders shiver.

One of them was coming through the air and the other was running after them at a speed several times faster than the spiders were using, at this rate the humans would find them before they reached their king.

The warriors could not allow their mission to fail, they were nervous, this had been their first mission and it would be better to die fighting than to simply fail and return to their king with their heads bowed.

Neither of them would be able to bear such embarrassment, they exchanged opinions using telepathy, this was a quick and quite effective way to communicate, in just a few seconds, a conversation that would last several hours was ended in an instant.

They ordered the mutant spiders to do everything they could to stop the humans, they all focused as much as possible to gather as many mutant spiders as their abilities allowed them to summon.

Normally this would not be possible, but the queen who controlled the swarm was dead and her king did not want to control the swarm, so the warriors who were the elite of the mutant spider race, could control the swarm temporarily.

All 10 warriors joined forces to control a considerable number of mutant spiders.

A huge tornado formed behind them, they were far enough away to not be caught by the tornado anymore, the mutant spiders they were trying hard to control were being killed easily.

They used their shared vision with the swarm to figure out what was happening behind them.

A human female who was doing all this , attracted the mutant spiders with her tornadoes and at the same time launched blades of wind that cut everything in front of them.

Within moments hundreds of mutant spiders had been killed at once, they had been rendered useless.

The human female increased her speed moving inside the tornado, but she wasn't the only problem the warriors had, behind the female, was a male who cut everything with his sword.

The male shone in gold that blinded the mutant spider's vision, as he moved, sliced spiders fell to the ground as if he were cutting paper.

Several of the mutant spiders launched webs and acid to try to slow him down, without suspense, the human seemed to have a rather powerful movement ability.

The male left only residual images and the mutant spiders failed all their attacks and when he reappeared the spiders fell dead, completely torn apart.

The corpses of the spiders were piling up as the humans approached the warriors, a trail of green blood was left behind.

Without special mention the human female was very terrifying, the amount of mutant spiders she killed with just a wave of her hands was astonishing.

The warriors could also feel fear, their training base was human and they had memories of some humans that the queen devoured to conceive them, most of the memories were useless since the queen had kept what really mattered.

Among the feeling that was left was fear, the human female was scaring them.

Before the soldiers could think of any more plans, the two humans had already caught up, the two of them falling from the sky creating a huge crater.

The female exudes killing intent that made the warriors' green blood freeze, the male exuded a sacred aura that threatened to cut their souls, now that it had come to this point, they would fight giving everything for their king.

"Vice-leader Blue Spirit , it seems we found your guild members," Arnaldo said, pointing to the golden cocoons containing several humans.

"Do I have eyes, wise ones?" Tatiana looked quite annoyed, her perception attribute telling her that the survivors were almost dead.

"Weren't there 55 registered for the dungeon? What must have happened to the rest? They're probably dead, these spiders are strong, but what makes it scary is their number."

Arnaldo used his perception to the maximum but he couldn't sense any more humans than what he was seeing, excluding Alex of course.

"Why are you bothering me ? I can draw my own conclusions, shouldn't you mind your own business?" Tatiana pointed to an area in the distance where intense battle tremors could be heard.

If he didn't know that his Sister Tiffany was alive, she would have already exploded her anger right there, her killing intent polluting the air.

Arnaldo's body trembled, he glowed when he used, Archangel Step Lv2.

Arnaldo hurried to reach Alex in an instant.
