Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven

Chapter 111: Ved Vs Vermillion(3)

The wax balls exploded. A wave of blue flames spread out, destroying everything in their path. A giant mushroom cloud that roared with thunder towered to the skies, replacing the dark clouds.

A deafening soundwave so powerful it cracked the air echoed for thousands of kilometres, reaching even the western edges of Southern Africa.

The sea evaporated for over 15 kilometres, leaving a wide area of volatile energy that blocked the sea water from filling it back up.

A shockwave was so powerful it hit Ved like a hammer followed. His already wounded body suffered even more damage but he was still grinning.

After all, he was not the only one to suffer from this. The fire birds and flame giant took some damage as well, even Vermillion was pushed back by the shockwave.

Unfortunately, they were too far away from the explosion so they didn't really take as much damage as he wanted, which was a pity.

Even so, Ved was still satisfied, he was afraid his plan would not work. The wax balls were actually nuclear bombs.

He created very dense balls of wax and packed them to the brim with volatile nuclear energy. He didn't think this plan would work so well, afterall it depended on many factors.

The most important one being his opponent's arrogance and disregard for him. Ved knew Vermillion would not pay any attention to failed attacks.

Which is why he threw those balls and not make them explode immediately. He also counted on his disregard for his companions.

From their brief interaction, he figured out the type of person this Vermillion guy was. He was the type who didn't really care about others.

They would only ever do things for appearances and that meant, he would only ever help if he figured they were in real danger.

Not because he cared but because that would increase their gratitude towards him even more.

So Ved was almost positive a few ships being pulled towards a vortex was not enough reason for him to move.

And so he commenced this plan, Ved has the ability to melt and dissolved his webs or wax, no matter how far away from him they are.

Using that, he compressed a massive amount of nuclear energy inside the wax. The high pressure and temperature made the energy even more reactive.

Then he waited until all of the bombs were in close proximity to detonate them for the maximum effect, then melted a part of them creating cracks.

The highly reactive nuclear energy tried to escape through the cracks he created which caused the blinding blue light then the explosion followed.

However even Ved did not expect the effect to be so powerful. He was glad he waited until he was too far from the centre of the explosion.

All of this happened even before his body hit the water. He crashed on the sea and continued falling until his body blasted a massive crater on the ocean floor.

His wounds started healing rapidly. He continued lying there motionless while directing his attention upwards incase he got attacked by Vermillion.

A few dozen seconds later his spine had partially healed, enough for him to move but not enough to jump back into the fight.

He rose and peaked his head above the water. The sky was covered by a red cloud that thundered with red lightning for as far as he could see.

High in the air Vermillion stood with his flame minions surrounding him like body guards. His attention was directed towards the centre of the explosion.

All of the ships were gone, the people on them were probably dead as well. Just as he thought that, space fluctuated over 70 kilometres away.

Suddenly a crystal sphere gyroscope appeared with a woman inside it. A few kilometres away from the gyroscope a golden bird cage surrounded by golden runic circles appeared.

Inside the bird cage were two women and the Japanese man. Even further, a disk with runes glowing on it was floating above the sea.

On top of the disk two people appeared, a middle aged man and a young woman. All of these people looked disheveled.

Fear was etched in their eyes but of the hundreds of people on those ships, the six of them were the only ones to survive.

Ved looked up at Vermillion and grinned provocatively. He knew he could see him, he could feel his soul sense around him.

Ved's body healed completely in less than a minute. Then he flapped his wings and flew up. The first thing he did was firing a bolt of lightning at Vermillion.

But it was easily blocked by one of the birds. Then Vermillion's aura blasted out. For a moment Ved felt like he was trapped in a hellish landscape with rivers of blood and fire.

Then the aura changed, the stench of rotten blood disappeared replaced by only the burning aura of flames that felt like they could burn all to ashes.

Ved was confused, this was the first time he felt this. Then Vermillion turned and looked at him. " Congratulations beast, you've managed to anger me."

A red soul force covered his fan. The aura of his flame minions grew significantly higher. The birds aura was only slightly weaker than his avatar or old man Goldi.

But the flame giant was much stronger than old man Goldi. Ved expected them to lunge at him so he was ready.

But instead, the flame minions scattered into flames and got absorbed by Vermilion. His already suffocating aura grew even stronger.

Ved's body started shaking from fear. The armour on Vermillions body shined with red runes.

A helmet of fire appeared on his head. Flames spiralled around his fan then condensed, forming a red flaming spear around it.

The wings on his back grew even larger. " Rejoice foolish beast, you're the first to make me almost take you seriously, almost."

He pointed his spear at Ved. "Eternal Flame Art: Red Knight Of The Undying Queen" he whispered gently. An image of a golden phoenix appeared behind him for a moment.

When Ved laid his eyes upon this image, he found himself drowning in an endless sea of flames so vast they could burn the entire world.

Before him was a phoenix so vast it seemed endless, Ved knew this was an illusion, but knowing did not make it easier to break out.

Fortunately the image disappeared. Ved was sweating profusely which shouldn't have been possible for his body to do. Then Vermillion moved.

Ved felt an overwhelming sense of inescapable danger all around him. ' Fuck' was all he thought before his mind went blank.
