"Filthy Beast!!!" Alice, whose carelessness led to her comrades' injuries, rushed like lightning and ferociously rammed towards the Lurker with an furious look on her face. The two sharp, short blades weaved through the air like a net and they slashed towards the Lurker.
The Lurker, completely unaffected by Tyrion's blade, twisted its sleek body and towards Alice like a snake and rushed towards her!
"Peng!" "Peng!!"
The daggers and the claws clashed.
Both Alice and the Lurker staggered, but Alice stomped heavily to the ground and charged at the Lurker again.
Alice gave the Lurker no chance to attack again! And the bones in one of the Lurker's limb where the scales had been cut by Tyrion had been slashed through by the two blades, so it could only rely on three of its legs to stand.
In their struggle, it seems that Alice has the advantage!
Tyrion at the other Shadow Leopard Zombies and was able to kill one with a sneak attack while he held back another as Jason and Vander recovered.
"NOW!"
Alice's voice rumbled and immediately, Vander, Jason and Tyrion erupted with their full strength, leaving the three saber tooth tigers as they disappeared and appeared, surrounding the Demon Lurker as they struck with their strongest attacks.
"Three Step Kill, First Move!"
"Lightning Fist!!"
"Cutting Edge!!!"
"Whoosh!"
...
On the rooftop of a six story residential building around five hundred meters away from this scene, the members of the Green Dragon squad were using their binoculars to look around.
"Captain, it seems that there are quite a bit of monsters around, so it'll be difficult to not agitate any monsters within a ten mile radius of the location of 'the Demon Lurker'" said the one eyed middle aged man as he frowned.
"The squad probably did this because they had the same assignment as us. " said the one of the four students.
10:17
John, the captain of the Green Dragon squad also frowned. Suddenly, his gaze landed upon the squad from Galaxy Reign academy that was battling the Demon Lurker and the Saber tooth tigers far away.
"It's a squad from that academy with bounty we accepted." John said with a raised eye brow.
"They came to this city too?"
"The squad probably did this because they had the same assignment as us. " said the one of the four students.
"The girl with the twin dagger is clearly Alice. Alice sure is powerful, she's going at it with a half-step Origin monster. I heard that she had practice at least three Tier 3 combat technique and possess strength to fight above her level."
"Since they are battling with the Demon Lurker that we've been hunting for the past 2 days now, should we kill them?"
One of them suggested. They had set their eyes on the Demon Lurker after spitting it two days ago. Now, to relinquish it to another squad to kill didn't sit well with them especially the fact that we're from the Demonic Academy.
"Kill them?"

The tendon of a Demon Lurker monster's tail is worth quite a bit". With a "CHI" sound of Theon's Blade, it drew across the tail and took out the transparent tendon.
Theon looked at Gerad beside him and laughed, "Gerad sure is strong. With that collision with the Demon Lurker just now, you was spitting out blood. Thought you were dead, but it seems like you are perfectly fine now!"
"Are you crazy? Should I just force the blood back down instead of spitting it out? The damage will be even worse that way!" said Gerad jokingly as he laughed.
"Alright, let's get these one by one." laughed Heron.
"Nice tattoo though." Theon complimented as he noticed the drawing of a black dragon tattoo on Alice's wrist.
Alice stared at him for a few seconds before nodding with a smile, covering up the tattoo with her sleeve.
The four students were in quite a good mood. Alice squatted next to the Demon Lurker while dissecting it and checking for a Blood demon heart. Of course, the Demon Lurker's corpse was the hardest to dissect.
The group had been able to take down the five Saber tooth tigers along with the Demon Lurker after a bit of struggle, therefore, they were incredibly happy about it and laughed merrily.
"Hm?"
As if Theon's body had caught fire, his eyes instantly widened. He could feel an intense sense of danger overwhelm him like a tide, the air before him became hazy and illusory.
Theon's eyes scanning the surroundings for the source of the danger.
"Everyone, be careful!" he growled, but his warning died in his throat when he saw Alice's expression.
There was a a strange, knowing smile across her lips as she slowly rose from the Demon Lurker's corpse, her twin daggers glinting in the dim light of the dimensional zone.
"Tell me something, Theon," Alice said, her voice carrying an unsettling calmness that made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. "Why exactly does the Dragan family want you dead so badly?"
Theon's entire body tensed and he immediately knew what was happening.
"Alice? What are you talking about?" Gerad asked, confusion evident in his voice as he stepped forward, his silver gloves still crackling with residual energy.
Heron's hand instinctively moved to his blade. "What's going on?"
The atmosphere had shifted completely. What had been a celebration of their victory moments ago now felt suffocating, oppressive. Theon could feel the tension coiling in the air like a spring ready to snap.
Alice tilted her head slightly, and her smile widened. "I'm sorry, boys. Nothing personal. Just business."
What happened next shocked even Theon.
Alice's body blurred, and even Theon's enhanced perception could barely track her movement. The blood demon art she had absorbed earlier—*Berserker*—combined with her strength transformed her into something beyond what any of them had anticipated.
"Wait—" Gerad began, but he wasn't even able to finish his words.
"Shlick."
The sound was wet. Alice's blade had moved so fast it seemed to appear through Gerad's neck as if it teleported. His eyes widened in shock, his mouth opening in a silent scream as his head separated from his shoulders. Blood splashed upward, spraying like a fountain as his body crumpled to the ground.
"GERAD!" Heron roared in shock but his movement was instantaneous as he moved to attack, but to Alice he was simply too slow.
Alice had already pivoted, her second blade slashing through the air. Heron managed to raise his large blade in defense, but her strength was overwhelming.
She slashed through his blade as dagger pierced through his throat like a bullet.
Heron staggered backward, blood gushing between his fingers as he tried desperately to stem the flow. He fell to his knees, his eyes stared at Alice with disbelief on his face as he died.
Within half a second, both of Theon's teammates lay dead or dying on the blood-soaked street.
Theon stood there with a frown on his face. He hadn't expect the sudden turn of event. Just like that, Gerad and Heron were dead.
Alice turned to face him fully now, and as she did, an overwhelming pressure descended upon the area as though the gravity had increased by three times. The pressure radiating from her wasn't that of a Genetic Soldier, she was actually a super soldier!
And not just any Super Soldier.
Through his enhanced perception, he could sense the constellation of opened meridians blazing across her chest like a galaxy of stars. One, two, five, ten… Sixteen. Sixteen fully opened meridians pulsed with primal energy so dense it distorted the air around her.
A Super Soldier with sixteen opened meridians was a monster in human form, someone who could level buildings and slaughter squads of Genetic Soldiers without breaking a sweat.
"Why?" Theon asked softly "Why go through all this?"
Alice wiped the blood from her blades with casual indifference, her eyes never leaving Theon. "Why? You really don't know?" She laughed, but there was no humor in it. "The bounty on your head, Theon. Ten million relic coins. Ten million. Do you have any idea what someone could do with that much money? The Sacred Blood Arts I could purchase? The resources I could acquire?"
She took a step toward him, and the pressure intensified. "The Dragan family wants you erased from existence so badly that they've put enough money on your head to make even academy students turn assassin. And you… you walked right into my trap. Making it look like an assignment accident in the dimensional zone? Perfect cover. No witnesses, no evidence. Just another tragic casualty of the Helium City operation."
Theon's mind flickered. The Dragan family. His family. Or rather, the family he had been deliberately hiding from, had found out where he was.
He just didn't think they needed him this dead that they offered 10 million relic coins jst to see him dead. They must have been scared by his progress.
"You killed Gerad and Heron for money,"
"They trusted you."
"Don't be naive. They were in the way," Alice replied with a shrug. "And their deaths will make the story more believable. A tragic team wiped out by dimensional beasts. I'll be the sole survivor, traumatized but alive. I'll even shed tears for you all."
She made a pouting crying face as she's stared at him. "Now, are you going to die quietly, or do I need to make this messy?"
For a moment, Theon stood perfectly still. Then his expression went completely blank, becoming an emotionless mask that would have sent chills down the spine of anyone who truly understood what it meant.
Without hesitation, he reached deep within himself and instantly activated everything within him.
