SSS-Rank: I Create My Own Quest

Chapter 34: [35] Battling Dimensional Beasts!

Heron unsheathed a large blade from behind him. The blade instantly changed the atmosphere.

A piercing feeling overwhelmed the surroundings and Theon couldn't help but stare at the team, a bit surprised.

From the vibe they exuded, this team was already enough to kill a level 8 monster without much effort.

Theon took in a deep breath and grabbed at the blade behind him

"Bzzzzt!"

The atmosphere paused and the air hummed. A penetrating wave of air erupted out from him.

An extreme aura of sharpness shook the air as though a sharp blade had replaced him.

"Eh, Theon , you seem to have become more powerful, strange, looking at you, no one would think you're just a Genetic soldier."

Heron's complexion slightly changed as he said with a strange look in his eyes.

"You have advanced to at least level 4 Genetic Soldier."

Alice said after carefully observing him, from the instant Theon moved his blade, his entire demeanor had changed.

She had watched the way he controlled his weapon perfectly as though it was an extension of his arm.

"I purchased an evolution serum."

This was the excuse Theon had thought of to explain his drastic increase in strength.

"Haha, that's f*cking awesome."

Everyone nodded, clearly accepting Theon's explanation. The three also didn't consider the matter important, after all, just increasing one's strength by a level was nothing to create a fuss about.

Genetic soldiers were the weakest of the food chain therefore, apart from getting recognition from ordinary humans it was nothing much.

Even then, the team was excited, Theon had increased in strength therefore, increasing the team's strength.

"Let's began killing."

Gerad excitedly yelled.

Next instant, Heron turned into a gust of wind and a silver silhouette could be seen rapidly entering the city, this road was one of the main road to enter the city.

Without using life detection equipment, even with his eyes closed, Heron would know that behind the city bridge, monsters were hibernating there in ambush.

Clearly, these two were responsible for guarding the entrance path through the city.

With the eruption of his cells, Heron was moving very quickly and erratically.

According to Theon's observations, if he didn't use his movement technique, he could probably just barely catch up with Heron's current speed.

Naturally, if he used his momentum technique to boost his speed for a short time, his speed would certainly become at least double compared to Herons'.

After a while, the four of them, covered the edge entrance of the city, soon saw the two beasts hiding in ambush.

"These are the demonic beasts?"

Sure enough, they looked exactly the same as described in the library books — their bodies resembling twisted versions of natural creatures, but their claws gleamed like sharpened blades instead of normal flesh and bone.

Without any doubt, they looked exactly the same as shown in the library books.

This place housed three kinds of demonic beasts altogether. The first type were the savage twin-tailed rabbits, small but unnaturally fast, with tails that could whip like steel cables, slashing through flesh and bone.

The second type were the saber-tooth tigers, shadow leopards, and killer horn bats — beasts that had evolved to become monstrous predators with venom, stealth, and deadly precision.

Among them, the shadow leopards who hunted in packs were the most sinister kind of demonic beasts.

Their blackened fangs could strike with a speed that even peak genetic soldiers could barely react to.

Normal saber-tooth tigers had quite a vicious temperament — if one met them face to face, they would immediately pounce with terrifying roars, using their dagger-like fangs to ruthlessly tear their prey apart.

If they appeared in large numbers, even a person with the strength of a super soldier would be overwhelmed. They would keep lunging and tearing relentlessly until their target was reduced to shreds.

In short, they were extremely vicious creatures, thus, ordinary genetic soldiers generally wouldn't dare venture here to look for trouble.

However, the killer horn bats and vampire mosquitoes were far more sinister.

They would hide in the shadows and quietly launch poison-laced stingers at your back. If 8–10 of them swarmed together, it would simply spell the complete annihilation of a warrior battle squad.

As for the third type of demonic beasts, they were those capable of fighting super soldiers one-on-one.

Their bodies were covered in hardened scales and mystical runes, enhancing their speed, reflexes, and strength.

Without a seasoned super soldier to handle them, not a single person would be able to withstand their ferocity.

Moreover, these beasts were extremely few in number.

Generally speaking, the radius of an entire place might not contain a single one of the predators — but if they did appear, there was only one thing that a battle squad could do: immediately run for their lives.

If they couldn't be killed in the first few moments by ambushing them from long range, then the results would be grave.

Presently, the ones ruthlessly attacking Heron and striking at him with bladed claws were two shadow leopards.

But Heron wasn't a weakling.

His blade slashed outward as he attacked the first shadow leopard.

"Clang!"

With fast enough reaction speed, the first shadow leopard countered Heron's strike, its claws gleaming with a dark, metallic sheen as it deflected his attack, allowing the other beasts to slip through his defense.

"Here they come."

The three of them got ready as the beasts came in one wave after another.

Without hesitation, Theon immediately activated his system and gave himself a quest.

"Kill numerous dimensional beasts!"

[Ding! Quest created]

[Objective: Kill Numerous Dimensional Beasts Alchemy]

[Reward: Unknown]

[Accept Quest? Y/N]

Presently, Theon had a clear understanding of his own strength, so he didn't put them in his eyes.

However, he also couldn't display his complete strength and could only fight them with the strength expected of him.

Raising his blade, he suddenly slashed with force equivalent to that of a level 4 Genetic soldier without utilizing the power of his opened meridians, just coating his blade with blade energy.

Naturally, all this wasn't child's play. Thus, while his strength was equivalent to that of a level 4 genetic soldier, his blade technique was enough to pose a massive threat to the rank 5 beasts.
