Chapter 567: Disheveled (5th Update)

The thug in military attire who had wanted to kill Li Sitong for kicking him in his privates suddenly rolled his eyes and collapsed on top of her!

"Ah?" Li Sitong was so scared that she closed her eyes, not daring to open them because she felt that as soon as she did, the thug would finish her off.

She didn't want to be violated, and she certainly didn't want to die!

But!

"Hey, are you sure you don't want to take even one look at your savior?" Ye Xiao's teasing voice reached Li Sitong's ears. She hesitantly opened her eyes to find Ye Xiao standing in front of her, the military-clad thug tossed aside by him. She didn't know if he was unconscious or dead.

Li Sitong's clothes were disheveled, but she couldn't care less about that now. To her, at this moment, Ye Xiao seemed like the only family she had in the world. She sprang up from her seat and immediately embraced this man she had found so annoying before, even though he reeked of sourness.

"Whew whew whew…" Li Sitong was crying in deep sorrow, feeling more aggrieved than she ever had in her life!

"Hey, I smell pretty bad, you know. You haven't developed a liking for this scent, have you?" Ye Xiao looked surprised as Li Sitong clung to him, giving her a wry smile. Clearly, he was taken aback by her reaction.

Hearing Ye Xiao's words, Li Sitong finally reacted. She hadn't known why she had suddenly embraced Ye Xiao, but now she blushed, slowly letting go and hanging her head, too embarrassed to look at him.

Ye Xiao looked at Li Sitong and felt a pang of sympathy. She should have been an angel, but she had almost been despoiled by that scoundrel.

Ye Xiao said, "Your clothes are a mess, you'd better straighten them out."

The events had happened so rapidly that Li Sitong hadn't had time to react, and only after Ye Xiao spoke did she realize that her clothes were disheveled. She hurriedly straightened her clothing!

Meanwhile, Ye Xiao didn't stay beside Li Sitong but walked toward the cockpit, to the wardrobe. He had noticed earlier that there seemed to be someone inside. As for whether that person was friend or foe, he didn't know, but he was certain the person inside was a civilian!

Thus, Ye Xiao softly made his way and pulled open the wardrobe door, only to see a middle-aged man dressed as a pilot, his mouth gagged with cloth, and his hands and feet handcuffed to a metal frame, utterly immobile!

The pilot knew he was probably finished. After flying planes for over a decade, it was the first time he'd encountered a hijacking. What he wanted most now was to see his parents, wife, and children one last time, to reunite with his family, but that now seemed like a distant dream.

However, just when the pilot had lost all hope, the wardrobe door was opened, and a very ordinarily dressed young man entered!

The pilot watched the newcomer with terror. He had seen the hijackers were all Saroman, with not a Yan Country person in sight; but now, this young man was clearly the epitome of a Yan Country person!

After entering, Ye Xiao quickly snapped the handcuffs and pulled the gag from the pilot's mouth.

The pilot was free again but looked at Ye Xiao with astonishment. He didn't know who this person was, or whether he meant good or bad; the hijacking made him distrust strangers.

Ye Xiao didn't say anything but pulled out a small red book from his clothes. He looked at the little red book and chuckled to himself that it had finally surfaced again.

Ye Xiao handed the small red book to the pilot, who looked at Ye Xiao with suspicion, yet still took it. But when he opened it, he was utterly shocked.

The Flame Dragon Team was unknown to him, but the seals of the Affairs Bureau, the Military Department, and the leader's imprint were all stamped on this little book. Just those stamps alone were enough to denote its significance.

"You…" The pilot looked at Ye Xiao in astonishment, sizing him up. He couldn't fathom how this unclean-looking young man could possess such a weighty red book.

Could this guy be someone from above?

"What's your name?" Ye Xiao asked the pilot.

"Lou Quanshou!" The pilot didn't dare to conceal anything; whatever Ye Xiao asked, he promptly answered.

Ye Xiao addressed Lou Quanshou, "Captain Lou, the crisis is now over. You can continue to exercise your authority as a pilot."

"Ah?" Upon hearing Ye Xiao's words, Lou Quanshou was even surer that Ye Xiao was no ordinary individual, perhaps someone from an important department above, because credentials bearing those three major seals were absolutely the most confidential, and this young man possessing such credentials, with their unmistakable steel seals, left no doubt about his identity.

Ye Xiao took the red booklet from Lou Quanshou's hand, then once again stuffed it into his own clothes. He then smiled at Lou Quanshou and said, "Captain Lou, about seeing me today, please don't speak of it. I think you understand that it's not to your benefit to do so. The fact that the plane's criminals were subdued is the result of your heroic struggle because, as the captain, you have the responsibility to protect the safety of everyone on this plane. Do you understand what I mean?"

Lou Quanshou, upon hearing Ye Xiao's words, was immediately shocked and said hastily, "You... You mean to give me the credit for rescuing everyone on the plane? No, how could this be okay? I, Lou Quanshou, don't have such great ability. I absolutely cannot claim such significant merit!"

Ye Xiao then chuckled and said, "Of course, you could choose to be honest. However, I could also say that these criminals were people you found. Now tell me, do you want to be seen as a hero, or do you want to be a scapegoat?"

"Ah?" At this point, Lou Quanshou was truly astonished. There was such a thing as a windfall, but, when had there ever been such a thing as an unearned merit falling from the sky? This was really an unexpected windfall of credit!

Ye Xiao smiled, patted Lou Quanshou on the shoulder, and said, "Captain Lou, do I need to continue?"

Although Lou Quanshou was a man in his thirties or forties and, as an airplane captain, he had seen much of the world, he understood when Ye Xiao repeatedly mentioned it, and given the weight of Ye Xiao's credentials, Lou Quanshou realized that Ye Xiao clearly did not want others to know of his existence.

"Alright, I'll go along with your plan. Additionally, do you want me, once we've landed, to not mention a single word about you to the leaders?" Lou Quanshou asked again.

"Yes," said Ye Xiao.

After that, Ye Xiao walked straight out of the cloakroom.

Lou Quanshou stood in the cloakroom, feeling somewhat dazed. Today's changes had been too sudden, and he was finding it hard to accept.

Nevertheless, he quickly walked out from the cloakroom. When he got to the cockpit, he saw that all of the original criminals were lying on the ground, not moving. Whether they were alive or dead, he couldn't tell.

And Ye Xiao was at that moment helping Li Sitong to walk out.

Captain Lou looked at Ye Xiao and asked, "Officer, are these people dead?"

Ye Xiao pointed to the criminal in military attire and said, "He's still alive; the rest are dead. You deal with it."

"Yes!" Lou Quanshou looked at Ye Xiao with a serious expression and saluted him with a standard military salute.

Li Sitong, who had previously been quite frightened and in great emotional turmoil, now saw this captain-dressed Lou Quanshou not only calling Ye Xiao an officer but also giving him a standard military salute.

What was this situation?

Ye Xiao couldn't help but give a wry smile. Why did he feel like he had suddenly become an officer?

Lou Quanshou then took out a spare pair of handcuffs and restrained the criminal in military attire. Facing armed criminals, Captain Lou might have had no fighting power, but now that this criminal was powerless to resist, Captain Lou certainly had the ability to subdue him.

When Ye Xiao and Li Sitong appeared in first class, the dozen or so passengers there all looked at Ye Xiao. They had heard the faint sound of gunfire from the cockpit, and it was because they had heard it that each of their faces had turned ashen. At this point, they could only wait, waiting for the first person to come through the door.

If a criminal came through, that would mean Ye Xiao had failed, and the fates of all the passengers would take a cataclysmic turn.

But now, the one coming through was Ye Xiao, and he also had with him Li Sitong, who the criminals had just taken away. At once, everyone was surprised, and then a profound sense of relief washed over them.

Ye Xiao's arrival meant that those criminals must have been subdued.

"Sit down and rest!" Ye Xiao, helping Li Sitong back to her seat, said to her.

Li Sitong had become very docile at this point, without her usual proud air; she was now like a gentle little sheep. Whatever Ye Xiao told her to do, she did.

Ye Xiao knew that Li Sitong was not really being obedient; inside, she was still scared, which was clearly evident from her still trembling arms.

"The incident is over now," Ye Xiao said with a touch of compassion as he looked at Li Sitong's pale face.

Li Sitong's eyes turned toward Ye Xiao, red and tearful. Obviously, she wanted to cry bitterly, but there were too many people around, and she didn't want to lose face.

"Young man, you're really amazing. Did you really subdue the criminals?" The fat man who Ye Xiao had previously taken the gold ring from came over with a beaming smile, admiringly speaking to Ye Xiao!
