BEYOND THE BLAZE

Chapter 84: ..“Cared For Me”

The restaurant was filled with the sounds of chopsticks and spoons hitting plates and more. Some ears were wide open, listening to the conversation that was made next door.

Akirion and Elina enjoyed their food, with some friendly conversation being passed between them.

"So, you said that you'll move out of your master's house, right?" Elina asked, a new topic in her mind. Akirion nodded, his eyes glaring at Elina while he enjoyed his food.

"Then where will you live?" She continued, her eyes glued to Akirion.

"I'll be a street kid!"

"What?!" she asked with a loud voice and then lowered her voice when she realized that she was in the middle of a crowd. She continued then with her voice barely above a whisper as she continued the conversation. "What, are you for real?"

"I have no place to go to, so…"

"How about…." She paused, her face glowed red, and she looked down a bit, playing with her index fingers. She continued, "…about, about, ahhhbout…."

"About what? I'm listening."

"Mhh, I don't know how to say this. I wonder if Erlin would grasp it too." Elina said, her cheeks red, her eyes stuck on her right side as she avoided eye contact with Akirion. Erlin had her ears wide open while she drank some water.

"It's okay, you can tell me; I won't agree if you have an idea that won't go with me, and also, Erlin, I'm sure she can't just agree to anything silly, so…."

"Yes, sure, I'll put my idea in then, even though it's a bit raw."

"I'm all ears!"

Elina struggled to say her words; her lips were vibrating while her mouth opened as if she wanted to sneeze but with a sudden withdrawal.

'I wonder what she's up to. I hope she's not thinking about inviting him in our house because I'll murder both of them.' "Erlin," she silently said, her gentle eyes narrowed.

"Would you mind saying your words at once?"

"It's kind of hard to get them off my chest."

"Just say what you want; I won't mind. I'll only agree or disagree, depending on how it is."

"Okay…" She paused again. Akirion looked at her, his hands talking to her but his mouth shut, trying not to disturb her. He only forced her to speak up.

Suddenly, she continued with her ears closed by her hands, "How about you stay in my home until you find a place to live?" Elina finally said, her eyes and ears closed.

Akirion gasped; his ears cleared of all the noise, and he heard nothing, only the breeze that wasn't inside the restaurant, only in his mind. Suddenly, Erlin spat water all over the table, her eyes widened, and a yelling voice escaped her mouth as she hit the table, and suddenly she minded her manners.

"WHaaat!" She started with a loud voice, but she decreased her voice to a very low level so that only her friends heard her.

Akirion suddenly looked behind him while Elina glared at the next table too. The whole restaurant got quiet, and they looked at Erlin and her friends. Anda started to gently hit Erlin's back when she coughed. "Sorry, sorry, be careful next time." Anda said, comforting Erlin. "Sorry everyone, she drank badly!" Anda changed her voice to hide suspicion since they were near Elina and Akirion's table.

Akirion turned his face back, his eyes glued to Elina, while Elina waited for an answer from Akirion.

"Sorry, but I will have to say, no way. It's all because I can't stay with girls alone. I'm still developing feelings, so I can't live with you guys. What if I end up doing something crazy? And again, I don't want to hurt little Erlin's feelings. I care for her a lot; I can't hurt her. I feel like she's my little sister, so I can't hurt my own sister!" Akirion explained, his eyes glaring at Elina, showing her that he really meant what he was saying.

"Mhh, don't worry about it; it's okay, and I understand where you are coming from. She's also your sister, so you can't really hurt her feelings. But that's what came to my mind, just to help my friend. You cannot live in the middle of the streets; we've got the house, so I couldn't come up with any other way to help!"

Meanwhile, Erlin had her eyes widened, a bit startled, her mind racing, envisioning Akirion living in their house. She imagined him sleeping on the couch. She also saw Elina leaving her room to sleep on a couch with Akirion. Sleeping with Akirion was like sleeping on the same couch, with Akirion sleeping at the back while Elina was at the beginning, getting Akirion to grab Elina in order to avoid falling.

She shook her head to get rid of the weird thoughts and then listened to what Akirion said about her feelings. She was touched by those words, getting her eyes and mouth wide open while a gasp escaped her lips. She exclaimed, and her mind blanked for a second as she heard Akirion saying that he pictured her like his own sister.

'Wow, Akirion doesn't have any bad intentions; it's only me who is overthinking a lot. Akirion is a good guy, and he also cares for me a lot. she thought, her eyes wide open.

Anda whispered to her friend Erlin to get her to know that Akirion had no bad intentions. Erlin agreed after getting all the comforting words.

"Did you hear that? Akirion is a good guy; this mission is actually a waste of time!" Anda added, her voice barely above a whisper.

Erlin nodded only and kept the cup at her lips while she didn't even drink that water.

The dinner continued with everyone having positive minds as they all settled down their doubts and everything.

The ones at dinner finished and made their leave.

"So, where are we up to now?" Elina asked; her voice sounded smooth without any anger or anything to disturb her happiness. Akirion's coldness almost made her mad.

"What? I don't know, obviously. I'm totally tired; I guess we should just head home." He replied.

"Come on, be a bit gentle and talk like a man. Why are you so hungry for home, home, home! Let's enjoy a bit and forget about home."

"Really? What do you want to do in this darkness? Do you want to get in a pothole or anything that will get you in trouble?!"

"Be a bit positive; there are no such places. This place is totally nice, with no such erosions. So let's browse the dark; it's fun."

"Okay, lead the way."

Elina led the way heading to the east, following the shops that made a big line next to the streets.

Elina was having fun, her face blooming with a big smile that was almost hidden by the dark. Akirion followed her, just like a tail that can be pulled to any place.

Meanwhile, Anda and Erlin discussed Akirion. They finalized that he was a good guy with no bad intentions, only that he cared for everyone who was close to him.

Erlin didn't change her mind about following her sister. She led her team too. They all followed like tails. They kept their distances as they continued with their mission.

Back to Elina and Akirion. Elina wanted to go to a nearby hot spring. Her body was craving a warm water bath. Akirion followed with no words.

In their way, Elina started a topic: "Hey Akie, did I tell you about anywhere to search for money?"

"No, I don't remember that!"

"Okay, a hint: how about a guild? Does it ring any bell?"

"No!"

"Oh, seems like I forgot. Okay then. How are you planning on gaining money?!"

"Ahh, I haven't thought about that; maybe I'll try working for anyone who needs help."

"OHH, that's something. I have an idea, and it's brought by your fighting skills!"

"Ohh, really?"

"Yes, it can be paying if you work really hard."

"So what is it?"

"Monster killing missions."

"How do you get paid?"

"You will be given a mission, and then if you pass it, you will get the money."

"That sounds good to start with, especially when I'm heading out tomorrow from my master's house."

"Yes, it can really help you!"

"What is the place called?"

"The Non-Monster Federal Guild."

"Ohh, their name is straightforward!" Elina nodded in the dark!

"I'll search for it!"

"Don't worry, I'll show you; we will go together if you don't mind."

"Yes, sure, we can go, maybe tomorrow after the goodbyes!"

Meanwhile, the followers asked themselves as they overheard Akirion talking about the goodbyes.

"What does he mean about the goodbyes? I don't get it." Anda asked, her voice barely above a whisper as she avoided being spotted.

"Akirion is leaving the school tomorrow, and maybe we will see him or maybe not; for that, I don't know." Erlin told his friends.

"He's leaving?" Renn panicked a bit.

"I guess you heard me!"

"That's bad!" Liberty said.

"What is it?" Erlin sounded grumpier than ever.

"He's the hero of our school!"

"He protected us today!" Renn added.

"Stop chatting already and continue your mission." She warned.

"Wait, what are they doing?" Anda asked, her eyes widened as she watched Akirion and Elina.

Akirion and Elina stopped in front of a light and glared at each other. Their eyes shone, and the atmosphere was so comforting. His eyes widened, his heart raced, and the same for Elina.

Their cheeks were glowing red; Akirion got a bit embarrassed and started to look away a bit. Elina's eyes glowed brighter, leaving Akirion in astonishment. She started to get closer to Akirion after she saw a grain of rice on Akirion's cheek.
