BEYOND THE BLAZE

Chapter 82: Dinner with Elina

Quietness settled; the night noise broke since the sun was already taking its leave, giving the night to it too. The sky looked reddish in the west while the darkness approached, reaching out to Akirion and Elina, who were ready to go.

"Akie, let's go; I don't think we have a second to waste here!" Elina said, her eyes gently shutting, her left leg slowly bending with a swoosh sound being formed as she got her foot up.

"Ahh, okay! Whatever you say, let's go. I just want to rest this poor body even though it got energy!" Akirion said, his hands folded, his eyes narrowed, glaring at Elina.

"Hey you two, we will catch up tomorrow. I'm going to take that sword and store it in a safe place, and then I'll leave because I'm tired and I've nothing to do." The professor said, his body taking a U-turn, going to the classrooms. His footsteps thudded on the ground, his right hand waving at Akirion and Elina, who were already taking their leave.

The two faded into the dark that thickened every second as the time continued since it had no business with humans.

The professor turned back to the four who denied going to have dinner with Akirion and Elina.

"That was good, you guys; you did it. Thank you!"

"What are you thanking us for? And I'd love to know why you want those two to go out together."

"Ahh, it's because I want to get Akirion's lazy butt to do something that guys his age will be doing!"

"So you are using my sister as a lab rat?"

"No, it's not like that; I just wanted Akirion to feel the outside and to let his seat and bed at home rest a bit!"

That makes my sister a lab rat!

But she's not, I swear.

Yeah, whatever you say! Let's go, you guys; I don't want to lose my prey.

Footsteps thudded on the ground, the professor taking his way and Erlin and her friends taking their way as they parted ways.

Erlin was after Erlin and Akirion, trying to stay on their backs since she didn't agree to go to dinner because of the simple promise she made to the professor.

So she wanted to stay on their tail; she didn't want to miss any silly movements with her eyes away from them. Her eyes were blazing with rage, her body moving according to her speed since she swung her arms when she moved.

Her friends were right behind her, following her every step.

"Hey, you guys!" Erlin said, her voice a bit deepened, her blonde hair swinging around as a gentle breeze swooped by. Every one of the 3 that were following Erlin gave her their ears as they waited for her words.

They stopped their movements, cooling down their bones.

"I'm following those two. Is there anyone who wants to join me because I want to observe every move they make?"

Astonishment settled in, eyes glaring at Erlin.

"Ahh, I don't think I can join you guys; I'm really tired, and that monster got me hard when it went berserk. I've tried healing myself, but the pain prevailed since I couldn't hold it back." Anda said. She was one of the people who got sent flying to the wall by the monster at the beginning of its attack.

"It's okay, Anda, you can go and sleep!" Elina said, her mind racing, thinking that she can lose Akirion and Elina if she plays around while her words are straightforward but called. Her eyes were scanning the thickening dark while waiting for answers while Akirion and Elina got away.

"You guys should be like Anda and not waste my time; every second is a footstep while I'm standing here!"

"Sorry! Mhhhhhhhhh," Renn thought, his voice growling like a car engine while his mind travelled, 'Should I go or not? We can share the money and part ways.'

Liberty was quiet for a second, then a big exhale echoed from him, exhaling as if he had been holding his breath for a whole minute. "Haaaaaa!" he paused, then he said, "Ahhh, I'll go. I've got no plans tonight, so let's groove!"

Anda gave him a warning glance, but it never hit his mind that he was given a scary glance.

Suddenly, Renn's mind boomed, "I guess I'll go too, so I guess we can just tail them if we have to." He said, confidence at the highest level.

Erlin turned and gave Anda her coins, and then she looked at the road while Anda took a turn since they asked her in her turn about going or not going.

Many footsteps thudded on the ground, walking as if they were part of a herd of cattle without bells, their mouths sealed without any clue where the two went.

Even if someone saw these three in the dark, he or she wouldn't recognize them because of their rush and quietness.

"Hey guys, what's the plan?" Renn asked, a smile curling his lips in the dark, but nobody saw that, and the boring part is that he got a big cold reply.

"What do you mean, 'What's the plan?" Erlin asked, her eyes glaring at the road that was mostly unclear; only the lights on the sidelines didn't show the whole road.

"Ahh, I mean, what are you planning to do?"

"That's obvious, Renn; following those two is the mission, and there's no other plan than that.

"I mean, what's the plan, not the mission? I know the mission plot. I want to know what we will be doing!" he said, increasing his speed towards Erlin to try and look in her face that was covered by the world's darkness. Liberty nodded in the dark, agreeing to the point; his mind was blank too about the plan.

"Our plan is to tail them and see every move they will be making! We are supposed to be hidden and keep our distance. That's the whole plan. Did that answer your question?" Erlin said the plan, and the question was answered in Renn's mind. Before a minute was over, a question appeared.

"So…. What will we be wearing?" Renn nodded as he heard a question from Liberty.

"That's a good point. We are supposed to be hidden, so we are not supposed to be wearing these uniforms, right?" Erlin got a point she didn't come up with.

"Exactly, we need to change these uniforms."

They all nodded and parted ways to change their clothes.

They agreed to meet up at Erlin's place.

Akirion and Elina were on their journey, going to dinner in one of the restaurants in Elysia.

They got in Elina's place to get some more money, since she said so, and the money they got from the professor wasn't enough.

"Wow, you live in a nice home!" Akirion admired Elina's home as he scanned the house from top to bottom and bottom to top. His eyes were racing around, a warm chuckle reassembling in his face.

"Ohh, thank you, but I'm sure you live in a better place than this!"

"You are sure, but you don't know!"

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"I live with a bachelor, and the house can be nice on the outside, but who knows, maybe it's hell on the inside!"

"Really? You don't look hellish though!"

"Huh, really?

"Yes, you are like a prince to me!"

"Stop lying, please!" Akirion clutched his chest, a slight pain roaming around his heart to chest. The pain wasn't located, only the right location, which was the chest.

'What's this pain, this feeling? It's feeling good for some reason; what is it supposed to mean?'

Meanwhile, Elina was flabbergasted by the way Akirion spoke.

'Did he just say stop lying?' Her eyes were wide open; she turned her body to check on Akirion, and she found him looking somewhere else, hinting that he didn't even mean what he said, or his way of looking aside was a way of feeling guilty for what he said.

Suddenly, her flabbergasted mouth switched gears; she smiled and said, "I'm not lying, just telling the truth, my handsome prince."

Akirion gasped, his heart raced, and the chest pain increased, but he was loving it in some way.

'What's really happening to me?' He asked, his eyes widened, glued at Elina, who was beautifully grinning, her eyes filled with innocence, a cool look located in her eyeballs.

Akirion suddenly tightened the gap of the conversation that he opened. He was quiet, so to cover that gap, he opened his mouth and said, "Which means I'm super cool!"

"I don't think so!" Elina replied, her hands folded, her face solid, without a glimpse of a smile on her face. Her pause made Akirion flabbergasted, and his mouth widened, his eyes helping as a sidekick.
