Becoming a Billionaire after Divorce

Chapter 99 Li Wenwen: Sister-in-law I'm sorry! (Extra chapter for monthly votes!)

Well, what a coincidence.

During a previous idle stroll, the only business that had left any impression on him was none other than the Wenbo Decoration Company on the twenty-second floor.

Sun Dasheng smiled as he took the man's business card. After a glance, he said, "Mr. Li, I'm afraid I don't carry business cards."

Li Wenbo's face stiffened slightly, thinking the other party was looking down on him, unwilling to even offer a business card. Then again, it makes sense. What's my status compared to his? Why would someone of that caliber give me a business card at our first meeting? As this thought crossed his mind, he felt much better.

Seeing this, Sun Dasheng didn't offer any further explanation. After all, he had never owned such a thing and certainly couldn't conjure one out of thin air.

"President Sun..." Li Wenbo started to say something more.

But Sun Dasheng cut him off, seeming to know what he was about to say. "I generally don't get involved in minor matters like these. Please discuss it with my staff."

Sun Dasheng gestured with his hand, and the employee in charge of the handover rushed over.

"President Sun, what can I do for you?"

His name was Xia Dong. He was the Deputy Director of the head office's Investment Department and Wang Hai's subordinate, as well as a capable talent who had studied abroad.

"This building has just been acquired, and the company is short-staffed. The property management will be temporarily handed over to you. Is that a problem?"

"This..." He was somewhat reluctant. After all, his specialty was investments. He had no love for hands-on management, and besides, every job requires a specialist. This wasn't his.

Seeing Xia Dong's hesitation, Sun Dasheng understood his concerns. He patted him on the shoulder and said, "Don't worry, this is just a temporary transition. Once the company finds a suitable person, you can hand things off. You'll go back to what you were doing before. There's no need to worry."

Now understanding, Xia Dong straightened up, his feet together. "Rest assured, President Sun," he declared. "I will ensure everything is managed properly until the next manager arrives."

"Well done!" Sun Dasheng gave him another encouraging pat on the shoulder, then pointed to the slightly bowing Li Wenbo. "Prioritize Mr. Li's matter here."

"Yes!" Xia Dong bowed, then turned to Li Wenbo with a smile. "Mr. Li, please come with me."

Li Wenbo removed his hat, gave a polite nod to Sun Dasheng, whispered a reminder to his daughter, and then followed Xia Dong into the office.

The others were sharp enough to take their leave, and soon only two people remained in the conference room.

The once casual and forthright Li Wenwen suddenly lowered her head and began to fidget.

Sun Dasheng watched her, amused. Did her father give her some special instructions before he left?

"Why are you still standing here? Is there something else?"

Li Wenwen kept her head down, saying nothing.

"If there's nothing else, I'm leaving, okay?"

Sun Dasheng made a move to leave, but she immediately blocked his path.

"If you have something to say, say it. If not, get out of the way." Sun Dasheng's brow furrowed with a hint of impatience.

A little frantic, Li Wenwen blurted out, "Are you free tonight? I'd like to treat you to dinner."

Sun Dasheng dug at his ear with his pinky. "Did I hear that right? You're treating me to dinner?"

"Did the sun rise in the west?"

Li Wenwen stamped her foot in irritation, looking up at him with a pout. "Just say yes or no."

"Interesting. Inviting someone to dinner with such a fierce attitude. Is this a trap?"

"Hey, why are you so ungrateful? It's just a meal. It's not as complicated as you're making it sound. Are you going or not? Give me a straight answer."

After blurting out that long speech, Li Wenwen wanted to find a hole to crawl into. The words weren't her own; they were instructions from her father, given just before he left. She had no choice. At home, her father doted on her the most. She could ignore anyone else, but if her father asked her for something, she would always comply.

"I'm busy!"

To her surprise, he showed her no deference at all. He completely ignored her and walked toward the door.

In a moment of desperation, she reached for his clothes. However, because of the height difference, her hand missed his shirt and grabbed his shorts instead.

It was a hot June day, and Sun Dasheng was dressed casually in a shirt and sports shorts.

She didn't manage to stop him. Instead, she pulled his shorts down.

"AHHH!!!"

Before Sun Dasheng could even react, she was the one who shrieked and covered her eyes.

"Shut your mouth!"

President Sun was very angry, and the consequences would be severe.

Unfortunately, at that moment, Li Wenwen had yet to grasp the full meaning of that sentence. As if she hadn't heard his warning at all, she continued to scream at the top of her lungs.

Soon enough, she learned just how severe the consequences of her screaming could be.

She felt her body go light as she was lifted off the ground from behind.

Then...

WHAP! WHAP! WHAP!

Her bottom received several harsh smacks, making her yelp in pain.

"What are you doing?"

Opening her eyes, she discovered this man was holding her up with a single hand.

Pervert! was the first word that came to mind.

Humiliating! was the second.

"Put me down right now!" she demanded, her legs flailing aimlessly in the air.

"Go on, scream. Scream louder. Draw a bigger crowd so they can all witness your splendid performance," Sun Dasheng said coolly.

At that, the suspended Li Wenwen immediately fell silent, though the glare in her eyes betrayed her inner thoughts.

"Oh? It was clearly your fault to begin with, so what's this? Now you're blaming me? Trying to play the victim?"

Did Li Wenwen not realize it was her fault?

Of course she knew.

But for someone of her caliber, could she admit she was wrong? The fact she wasn't turning the accusation back on him was already an act of extraordinary mercy.
