I will be a demon in this life!

Chapter 166

Plop!

After drinking the water, his body quickly absorbed the demonic energy from the environment, then he felt as if the frenzy wanted to absorb his own body to extract every last drop of demonic energy.

He took four pills from the clay pot with his hands and then swallowed them.

The energy from two pills was absorbed almost instantly, and before disappearing, the water threatened to absorb the power contained in the third pill.

Plop!

Now the frenzy of demonic energy contained within his body increased, filling his body and causing his demonic energy channels and cores to tremble.

"This is necessary torture," he concluded in his mind, without complaining, just accepting the penance in order to obtain the reward.

...

Plop!

Time passed.

This time he took six pills from the jar and swallowed them quickly; however, he felt that the energy from the many remaining pills was stronger.

He concentrated on expelling the excessive demonic energy in his body, his mana channels feeling almost torn as he tried to expel the excess demonic energy in his body.

Plop!

Even so, he hadn't wasted any time. Before, due to the speed with which he expelled his demonic energy, he always ended up expelling all of it. Now he only expelled the excess.

Plop!

He approached the water, drank, and all the demonic energy in the environment began to be absorbed by his body.

When he ran out of demonic energy, he was going to place his tired hands on the pills that contained a greater amount of concentrated demonic energy, but before he could do so, he opened his eyes and found himself back in his room.

The white bathrobe was sweaty and torn in places, and there was an abundance of concentrated and refined demonic energy in the environment.

Mart absorbed more than half of the demonic energy and stored his remaining demonic energy in some empty demonic stones.

"System, show me my attributes," Mart said as he walked toward the bathroom.

Mart was satisfied with the reward he had obtained from the vivid recollection of seclusion. The amount of demonic energy he could contain in his body had increased, as had the speed with which he absorbed and manipulated demonic energy. His energy sensitivity was superior; he could now more easily perceive the energy of the beings around him. He knew there was still much room for improvement, but he was on the right track.

While bathing, some blood trickled from his nose, and he felt slightly dizzy.

"It seems I will have to absorb another drop of Demon God's blood to experience another recollection, or else I will become just an empty shell," Mart concluded as he finished bathing.

••••

Sitting in his chair in front of his desk, Mart deactivated the demonic barriers protecting the window and door.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Less than five minutes later, there was a knock at his door.

"Come in! You may enter," Mart said firmly, because he knew they were not any of his demon women, since they were allowed to enter without knocking. Furthermore, he did not recognize the demonic energy of two of the three demons standing outside his room.

A demon wearing the uniform of the Marquisate of Sevec entered. His presence was imposing. It was Commander Fercan Sester, and with him were Deputy Commanders Denfer Delioz and Sitan Bokar.

"It seems that this time Balac Sevec and his son are determined to take me to the marquisate," Mart thought to himself as he saw one of the most important commanders of the marquisate.

"Young master, we have been sent to accompany you back to the marquisate. We have been waiting for a week while you were in seclusion. I respectfully ask you to prepare for the journey. We will depart in two days," Fercan said in a respectful and formal tone.

...

Mart agreed, said goodbye to the commanders, and then lay down on his bed.

"It seems that this time the absorption of the Demon God's blood lasted more than a month," Mart concluded, closing his eyes as he thought about how long it would take to absorb the next drop of the Demon God's blood. He didn't need to worry about preparing anything because he always kept his demonic bag close by, in which he kept most of the personal items he might need, so he was prepared to leave at any moment. In addition to this, he always carried most of his demonic objects and artifacts in his demonic ring.

These were demonic objects and artifacts with which he could increase his chances of defeating his enemies.

••••

The next morning, Mart said goodbye to Selis, Asfil, Emy, and Menna.

...

Address: Study hall.

"Why did you ask to see me?" Director Persec asked in a firm voice, frowning.

The director was sitting in an elegant chair in front of his desk.

Mart was overwhelmed by the power of Director Persec's presence, but he didn't let it bother him. He simply took a beautiful pocket mirror out of his demon ring.

"I've come to bring this gift to Isirid," Mart said confidently.

Mart felt the power of Persec's presence increase.

"I know you must be angry, but what happened, happened. I will protect Isirid until my life comes to an end. I will never turn my back on her. I swear by my demonic core," Mart said with determination in his eyes.

Director Persec turned his attention to the mirror, which clearly appeared to be a high-level or legendary demonic treasure, or so Persec perceived it.

Persec restrained his presence and asked:

"What kind of treasure is it?"

"It is a demonic mirror capable of protecting its owner once against any high-level deadly attack."

Persec raised his right hand toward the mirror Mart was holding, and then the mirror floated toward Persec's hand.

After Persec put the mirror away in his demon ring, he made an ID card float toward Mart's hands.

"Mart Sevec. Class S. Third Year. Possible profession: Demon Sorcerer," Mart read on the ID.

"Come back soon. And don't you dare make my granddaughter unhappy, or a curse will be the least of your worries."

Mart nodded and, after exchanging a few more words, left Director Persec's study.

...

Shortly after, Isirid entered the study and sat down in an armchair reading a book as if nothing was happening.

Persec sighed, took out the mirror, and handed it to his granddaughter.

The gems in the "mirror of vanity" sparkled when it was taken into Isirid's white hands.

"It's a powerful demonic treasure," Isirid concluded, unable to prevent a subtle smile from appearing on her lips.
