From Blade To Spell

Chapter 43: Knight Cavalry

He had just killed three level-five skeletons when he noticed the cavalry had already clashed with the undead.

What stunned him was the sheer dominance,

It was one-sided suppression.

He quickly opened his map and checked the green dots representing the cavalry.

There were 200 of them, and every single one was level 11 or above.

Aaron was speechless.

"This cavalry… it's entirely made up of Knights."

He couldn't help but mutter to himself,

"So this is the power a Duke holds."

Just as he thought he had grasped the extent of a Duke's strength, the soldiers around him whispered among themselves:

"If Commander Molard were here, those undead wouldn't last even five minutes."

"Indeed. His elite troops may only number a hundred, but every one of them is a fearsome Knight."

"I've heard rumors they're currently exploring a dangerous region."

"Alright, stop talking about Commander Molard. Captain Dolo and Captain Molo shouldn't be underestimated either."

"True. It's fortunate they're stationed in this territory. We can handle the crisis more easily this time."

"Yes… we lost many brothers last time. If Lord Alaric hadn't taken action himself, the casualties would've been far worse."

"Hey, look, the soldiers are reorganizing. I've heard the Knights under Captain Dolo and Captain Molo are allowed to learn Knight skills."

"I've heard that too. And those skills are related to fire."

Just then, Aaron witnessed a grand scene.

The Knights on horseback created a four-meter gap.

And in the next instant, their swords ignited with flames.

Aaron's eyes widened in amazement.

The cavalry charged forward, and as soon as their flaming blades touched the undead, the skeletons crumbled to dust.

He was stunned.

At the same time, he realized something critical, the undead were afraid of fire.

Only now did he understand why the giant skeletons hadn't attacked earlier.

The fire burning brightly at the start of the battle had kept them at bay.

But after fifteen minutes of fighting, the flames had begun to dim.

And with it, the giants had begun to move.

With the Knights now taking action, Aaron had no more chances to attack.

He sighed, feeling a twinge of regret in his heart.

At the same time, he glanced at his stats, and was stunned to see his experience points had reached 35,000.

He quickly recalled that many of the skeletons were level 2 and above, and each gave increased experience Level 2 gave 20 points, level 3 gave 30, and so on.

A smile broke across his face unknowingly.

Just then, Alice and Fiona approached.

"Aaron, are you okay?" Alice asked, concern in her voice.

Aaron smiled.

"What could possibly happen to me?"

Alice hesitated, then said softly,

"It looked like you had some deep enmity with those skeletons."

The nearby soldiers nodded in agreement.

They had witnessed his insane performance.

Three boxes of arrows emptied, and the fourth nearly gone.

Each box held 500 arrows,

which meant Aaron had fired between 1,700 and 1,800 arrows in just a few minutes.

Such intensity…

None of them had ever seen anything like it.

Aaron smiled and said,

"No way. It's the first time I've faced those skeletons. I just wanted to test my skills and see how many I could take down."

He paused, flexing his fingers.

"Now that you mention it… my hand's starting to ache a little."

He rotated his wrist and added, "Shall we return to the castle?"

Alice nodded.

"Of course. There's nothing more to do here."

Fiona chimed in, "Sir Aaron, a warm bath might help relax your muscles."

Aaron nodded, "Alright, Fiona."

With that, the three of them made their way back to the castle.

Meanwhile, at the inn…

Gloden sat cross-legged, cultivating in silence.

His aura suddenly surged, transforming from ordinary to powerful.

A faint glow surrounded him, and the air grew heavier.

He opened his eyes, a satisfied smile on his face.

"Finally… a breakthrough. I've stepped into the Knight Realm. Now, I can be considered a true contender."

His gaze drifted toward the unconscious maid nearby.

He frowned.

"Ordinary vessels can't withstand my cultivation anymore. I need someone stronger… someone with potential."

His thoughts turned to Miss Alice.

"She's already in the Knight Realm. If I can draw power from her, my progress will soar. No matter what… I must make her mine."

He stood and called out,

"Prepare a new candidate. This one won't do."

Dominoz, meanwhile, stood silently atop the city wall.

He had watched the entire battle unfold not as a participant, but as a bystander.

Now that it was over, a heat burned in his eyes.

If only he could command an army like Lord Alaric's,

then perhaps he could finally contend with his elder brother.

The display of power had stirred something deeper,

a restless hunger.

He clenched his fists. He didn't just want strength.

He wanted recognition, status, and above all, to win the hand of the princess at the upcoming ceremony.

No matter what it took.

-----

At the same time, in the castle…

Duke Alaric sat in his study, reviewing the reports of the nobles who had participated in the battle against the undead.

In truth, he had intentionally delayed the Knight Cavalry

a calculated move to observe the true character of the nobles attending his daughter's upcoming ceremony.

Sure enough, just as he had expected, none of them had sent soldiers to assist, not even as support.

Except for Aaron.

Alaric's eyes lingered on the report detailing Aaron's actions.

Not only had he fought, he had killed thousands of undead.

Such a feat was enough to earn recognition across the realm.

A pang of regret struck Alaric's heart.

"Why did I send him to Green Fort?"

He clenched his fist, frustration boiling within him.

"Damn it! If only I could change that decision…"

But then, slowly, he loosened his grip. A look of resignation settled on his face.

Moria bowed respectfully and replied, "Okay, Master."

He sighed deeply and said,

"Grandpa Moria, please send out the notice, three days from now, Alice's marriage ceremony will take place."
