From the violet orb a ripple of distorted space formed, and the area or the world around the core seemed to bend to its will.
The core started to implode some of it's parts exploding into black mist.
Adam moved forward once again, closing the gap between them.
The core tried to save itself by forming a protective barrier, but Adam was faster.
He thrust his sword forward piercing through the barrier, driving it straight into the core of the humanoid figure with multiple eyes.
There was an explosion of violet light the illuminated the whole gate and it was blinding.
And just for a moment, everything went white.
The light began to fade, and the humanoid monster started to crumble away, it was break apart piece by piece until there was nothing left, than just ashes and black mist.
The whole phenomenon began to fade away, the crimson fog and corrupted skies cleared. And the gates natural mana was restoring itself.
The battle had ended.
Class S and Class A were standing still, they were all exhausted and wounded, but they were still alive.
Breathing heavily, Jake fell to his knees. "Damn it... as much as I hate to admit it, he did it."
Sarah fell to one knee and smiled faintly, gripping her staff for support. "Yeah, he destroyed it like he said."
Selena was approaching Adam who has already descended to the ground, he was wiping away the black residue from his face and sword. "You pushed yourself too hard, you don't have to take in everything yourself."
"I know, but I'm fine." Adam muttered.
"You always say that." Grace chuckled softly.
As their tension was about fade. "Somethings wrong..." Damian's eyes narrowed.
The air was shimmering faintly behind, as Adam turned sharply.
Out of nowhere, there were five masked figures who emerged from the shadows, the final team of assassins sent by Cedric.
Their killing intent was flooding the clearing.
"Everyone escape back, I'll handle them!" Adam shouted, as he instantly raised his sword.
The others just nodded, unlike Adam they were too tired to have another battle at the moment.
So they listened and fell back, leaving him alone to face the assassins.
One of them moved forward, his was faster than the eye could track, but Adam was following his movements without issue.
The assassin lunged with a dagger coated in venom aiming to slice straight through Adam's neck.
Adam dodged the attack with ease, grabbed the assassin's hand and hurled his body towards a tree.
The others would surround him in that instant, two of them used wind, the other two were using earth, and one was using lightning affinity.
Then their leader stepped forward and spoke, his voice was cold and almost mechanical.
"Target sighted. Commencing with elimination."
Adam was calm, his eyes would start glowing again, and a grin was seen on his face.
"Fine then," he said softly, his hand tightened the grip on the sword, while his wings flapped removing the ice coating. "I'll kill each and everyone of you."
[Sovereign's Aura]
The ground started to tremble, his mana was surging violently around him while he was raising his sword.
The aura Adam emitted would make the assassins stiffen.
His hands morphed into claws and two curved horns appeared on his head.
And that's when the battle began in full swing, Adam and the assassins were clashing, steel met flesh and the area was crackling with lightning.
The five assassins stated lunged towards Adam, their daggers were gleaming with murderous intent.
The ground was cracking from the sheer force of their mana.
Two of the assassins would twist the air itself, their wind daggers seemed invisible to the eye, they were slicing through stone and trees alike.
The other two assassins would stomp their feet, that's when earth spikes would erupt from the ground like spears.
And the leader was cloaked in arcs of lightning, his would flicker from his position towards Adam, aiming his blade towards his spine.
Adam looked at this with a smirk, and he began moving as well.
He ducked the lightning strike from the leader, and he spun his blade around slicing through all the earth spikes that aimed at him.
"Good reflexes." One of the assassins muttered coldly, his mask was hiding his smug expression. "But as you can see, you outnumbered."
Adam's smirk just widened, his tone was calm but mocking. "Of course you'd need numbers, to even graze my skin."
[Partial Transformation]
Scales covered his whole body, his teeth taking in a more canine shape, claws appearing on his feet and hands.
The assassins would act and charge at him once more. The wind users would vanish from sight, their movements were a blue at they reappeared at Adam's flank. One struck from above, and the other from below.
Adam met both of them head on, be moved his left arm towards the one from above and his sword towards the one below.
CLANG!
Sparks started flying as both their wind infused dagger were flung aside.
Adam didn't give them anytime to recover but before he could act, two of the other assassins who used earth affinity slammed their palms on the ground.
"Earth Tomb!"
The ground around Adam started surging upwards, it tried to encase him in solid rock.
But Adam didn't let this happen, his mana surged as he swing his sword.
His aura bursted out in a violent wave, the ground would shatter like glass stopping their efforts.
"It's a shame you had to accept this request... because all of you are going to die here." Adam said, his voice was cold and it let out a resonant growl.
Even the assassins, who were trained killers flinched from his words. The mana Adam was emitting right now was suffocating, it was like they were trapped under a massive wave of water struggling to breathe.
"He's just one man! Kill him!" The leader finally moved, lightning was crackling all around his body.
He flickered towards Adam, his blade was coated with sparks of lightning.
"Lighting Slash!"
Adam just slowly turned his head, his gaze locked on with the assassin leader with a smirk. "Your slow."
And with just a single flap of his swings, his figure vanished.
The leader blinked, his eyes widened.
Adam reappeared right behind him, and slammed his clawed fist into his back.
BOOM!
The impact sent out a shockwave, and the assassin leader was sent bursting through three trees before crashing into the ground with a hard thud, he started coughing up blood.
The other assassins would react instantly, two daggers infused with wind cut through the air aiming for him, while earth spikes would erupt upward aiming to pierce through his body.
Adam flapped his wings once and made a spin mid-air, his tail would lash out.
CRASH!
The tail met with the earth spikes as they shattered, the wind blades would disperse like they hit an immovable wall.
Adam landed lightly on ground, his wings folded slightly, the ground beneath him was cracking from the pressure alone. And his claws we're gleaming with a dark light.
"I would ask who sent you," he muttered. "But it doesn't matter, I already have a few candidates."
No one answered, because of course they wouldn't.
Instead their leader, the one who got beaten before spoke first as he lifted himself from the ground. "You'll know that in the afterlife."
He lunged forward once more, lighting crackling around his body as his speed increased. His dagger would aim to slash Adam's throat.
Adam just caught the dagger mid swing, small sparks would fly from the contact.
The leaders eyes widened. "What—?"
Before he could say anything Adam just tightened his grip, the dagger cracked and shattered.
Before he could even react, Adam would drive his knee into his stomach followed by a backhanded strike.
He was flung away like a ragdoll, crashing into the dirt face first.
That others hesitated for a second, but that was enough.
Adam's spread out his wings fully, obsidian-black veins were pulsing beneath the scales.
The ground beneath his would get covered in ice, the temperature slowly plummeting.
"Well, I had my fun. Now die."
He took one step, and then disappeared.
The only sounds the filled the forest was the impacts from his strikes.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
The dust settled and four assassins were on the ground, they layed there brown and unconscious.
Only the leader was left, his whole body was trembling, his dagger shacked in his grip.
"Y-y...you're not human!" He said as he spat out blood.
"Never said I was." Adam's gaze intensed, his voice was still cold.
Adam lunged at him, and his claw pierced through his chest to perform an instant kill.
The man's heart was held firmly on Adam's gripped as it started to beat slowly and slowly until in stopped.
Adam just stood still for a moment and pulled his arm back, the leaders body fell on the ground lifeless.
He the crushed his heart and blood started to drip from his hands, he looked at the dead body and the leader and then said.
"Seems like, i have a lot of people to pay back after I come out of here." He said with a chuckle.
Adam flapped his wings once more ascending towards the sky, and once he was far enough, he opened his mouth as mana was gathering.
[Dragon Breath]
He let out a wide blast from his mouth which was infused with ice and spatial.
BOOM!
The blast met the ground as a loud explosion occured, space started to bend and vast amounts of frost covered the whole area.
This would also kill the rest of the assassins who were unconscious, and it left no trace of their bodies.
Adam descended towards the ground that was now with a thick layer of frost and spatial distortion.
He sighed as he reverted back to his original state, and then uttered. "If it's war you want, then don't blame me for being ruthless."
