After the couple separated, Gina put her head on Jason's chest and hugged his waist, and Jason turned to Juliet to speak to her. Jason raised a brow when he saw that Juliet was pouting while looking at them, and he raised a brow at her curiously. What the hell was she thinking about? Juliet quickly shook her head when Jason asked her this, and she composed herself before she decided to switch topics. Juliet wouldn't deny that she was jealous of Gina's relationship with Jason, but Juliet knew that she didn't stand a chance against Gina, so there was no way she could make Jason look in her direction! It was just better not to fight at all than to fight a battle that you knew you would lose! Instead, Juliet refocused on the current situation.
Juliet had done a lot of work on the guild in the past few days, and things had been going smoothly, but there were still issues that they needed to deal with. One of those issues was the media. Things haven't been looking good at all on the internet. The main cause of this were the journalists who asked Griselda questions during the press interview a few days ago. Those journalists looked like they had an agenda to try to paint Jason as some sort of villain, and even though the interview ended days ago, there were still articles coming out that tried to push the public against Jason!
The only people who didn't seem to have any issues at all with Jason were those in the guild already, as well as the higher-ranking members of government. The agents understood Jason's powers, and they also accepted what he could do; and the government officials already knew about Jason's powers, so they didn't have anything against it. But if Jason went out into a public street, he would be met with a lot of side glances and even some scornful looks! Nearly everyone in the country believed that Jason's powers needed to be sanctioned and controlled so he didn't go around resurrecting whoever he wanted, and if they didn't do something about it soon, it could become a real problem! Juliet narrated all this to Jason, and Jason frowned in annoyance as he felt Gina tighten her hold around his waist. It was irritating to know that it was so easy to sway people's opinions, but Jason wasn't that surprised. Humans have always been easily manipulated by the things they hear or see online, so something like this shouldn't surprise anyone. The only thing that Jason wanted to know was if this was affecting his family.
"Did anyone try to go near my family?"
Juliet immediately shook her head.
"No, of course not. There were a few reporters who tried to get to Mira for an interview, but they didn't go far before they were arrested by enforcers. The SMD also sent some agents to protect your family since they were also seeing the way things had escalated online. They formed a perimeter around your mother's house and restaurant, so no one can get close. But I think it'll be best for us to have a press conference one of these days. The sooner, the better, actually. I already told them that you only resurrect monsters from Gates and enemies that try to kill you, but they won't believe anything unless it comes from you. If you can talk to them and clear the air about your powers, then things should die down."
Jason frowned. He didn't really care about public opinion, and trying to clear the air about something that people had convinced themselves about was nowhere near the list of things he wanted to be doing with his time! He didn't have to prove himself to those fools! But Jason also knew that this could affect him and his family in the future, and if things got even worse, it might also affect the guild. If having one interview was going to make all that go away, then Jason didn't mind. But if they had this interview and he found out that the reporters weren't even willing to listen, then he wasn't going to bother trying to explain anything ever again.
"Fine, set up a conference as soon as possible. I just want to talk to a few people, so make sure it's nothing too serious. Oh, and there's one journalist I want to see there. His name is Darius, and he works for the Riverdale Daily News Channel. Try to make sure he attends."
Jason's face was completely expressionless when he said this, but Juliet could see a glint of vindictiveness in his eyes that almost terrified her. Juliet knew exactly who Darius was! He was one of the most vocal journalists who had stirred the waters a lot in the past few days! Darius had been present at Griselda's interview, and he was the one who asked her about whether or not Jason could bring back their loved ones and then force them to fight for him. That question had thrown Griselda off her game, and the man had capitalized on it by asking her many more difficult questions! Even now, Juliet knew that many of the articles condemning Jason online had been written or sponsored by Darius. The bastard was a menace!
'But how did Jason know about him? Hasn't he been in another world all this time?'
Juliet could only wonder how Jason learned who was truly behind all this, but she decided not to let it bother her since this was better for her. Dealing with Darius was at the top of her priority list, so bringing him to the press conference would kill two birds with one stone. Juliet told Jason that she would contact him with a date and time soon, and Jason finally asked where Griselda was.
Juliet gave a strained smile.
"She isn't here today. You were right about her not being ready to take up the position of owner just yet. She didn't have any formal training, and she was too easy to fluster when she faced the press. But I could see a lot of potential in her. She had the makings of a CEO, and I know she'll be great, so I sent her to work with my mother."
Jason blinked and asked:
"Your mother? Is she the CEO of Tenet?"
Juliet shook her head.
"No, my father runs Tenet, but my mother comes from very old money, and she has various companies that she owns. She has been training in etiquette and business management from before she could even walk, so there isn't anyone else I'd trust with teaching Griselda how to handle herself."
Jason hummed.
"But isn't she busy? How did you manage to convince her to help out?"
"Mah, that old woman doesn't do anything all day. She already automated all her companies, so she just follows my father around and bothers him when he's working. I swear, those two act like teenagers sometimes. At least now she can focus on Griselda, and my father'll have free time to focus on work. Griselda should be back by the end of the week, so until then, I'll take care of the affairs in the guild."
Gina chuckled slightly when she heard about how Juliet's mother just followed her husband around to bother him, and even Riyala couldn't help but smile at the cute image. Jason huffed in amusement as he wondered what sort of hellish training Juliet's mother would put Griselda through, and he just hoped it helped her become better when she returned. Jason thanked Juliet for helping out before asking her where he could drop the crystals he got from Radagan. Juliet raised a brow at that, and she just told Jason that he could give her the crystals here, and she would take care of it. Jason shrugged before he put his hand out and opened his Alternate Dimension!
Boom!
The entire floor seemed to shake as a massive pile of crystals suddenly fell out from Jason's dimension and spilled across the floor! Juliet took multiple steps back with wide eyes! When Juliet heard Jason say that he had some crystals, she thought that he was talking about maybe twenty or thirty crystals that they could fit into a bag! But this... what the hell was this!? There had to be at least a thousand crystals there! And from what Juliet could see, they were all high quality!? Sitting on the ground in front of them right now was close to a billion dollars in crystals! Juliet almost fell to her fucking knees!
