Prince of Gluttony: Born from Betrayal

Chapter 115: Consider it

The tension in the room hadn't settled at all after Jayden's wild confession. If anything, the atmosphere felt heavier now that the three girls were staring at her like a pack of vultures waiting for more. Jayden, clutching her stolen pillow like it was a lifeline, looked like she was debating whether to leap out the nearest window and run for her life.

Kiyomi, though, leaned back against the couch with a sly grin tugging at her lips. She let the silence hang for a few seconds longer, savoring Jayden's discomfort before she struck again.

"I have to say," Kiyomi began in a voice dripping with amusement, "I'm surprised you didn't end up with Lust instead of Pride. With the way you talk, you must have drained Cain dry."

Jayden's ears shot straight up like she had been slapped. A low growl rumbled in her throat as she glared at Kiyomi, cheeks blazing crimson.

"I am not some horny mutt," she snapped, voice trembling with both embarrassment and anger. Her glare wavered for a moment, though, and she hugged the pillow tighter, her tone dropping to something quieter. "And I didn't drain him at all…"

Kiyomi blinked, tilting her head like a curious cat. "What do you mean by that?"

Jayden's composure cracked entirely.

"I mean he was too much for me, alright?!" she shouted, ears flat against her head. Her words tumbled out in a rush as if holding them back any longer would burn her alive. "He was too good, too big, too fierce. I was hopelessly outclassed! In bed, I'm a weakling and Cain… Cain is too strong."

She slapped the pillow over her face after the confession left her lips.

The room exploded into red cheeks and wide eyes. Maris had to bury her face in her hands to hide the secondhand embarrassment flooding her system. Mira covered her mouth, unsure whether to laugh or die from sheer mortification on Jayden's behalf. Even Kiyomi, who usually thrived on teasing, stared for a second before letting out a slow, impressed whistle.

"You… really just said all that out loud," Kiyomi murmured, her grin returning little by little. "Outclassed, huh? That's one way to admit defeat."

Jayden let out a muffled groan from behind the pillow, refusing to meet anyone's eyes.

Kiyomi, however, wasn't done. Her curiosity was burning now, even if she didn't quite understand why the next words slipped out the way they did.

"So, if you weren't enough on your own…" she began slowly, a strange tone creeping into her voice, "what would happen if you had backup next time?"

The pillow lowered just enough for one sharp crimson eye to peek out. "Backup?" Jayden's voice was low, suspicious.

Kiyomi shrugged, trying to sound casual even as the thought surprised even her. "You know. What if some of us… became Cain's women too?"

The reaction was instant. Jayden sat bolt upright, ears bristling, eyes blazing as she bared her teeth.

"Over my dead body," she snarled.

Kiyomi raised both hands in mock surrender, though the grin never left her face. "Of course, of course. We would recognize you as the first. No one's taking that away from you."

Jayden's growl faltered.

She blinked, confusion briefly overtaking the anger as Kiyomi's words sank in. The wolf girl glanced toward Mira and Maris out of the corner of her eye. Both girls were flushed to the tips of their ears, unable to meet her gaze, but… neither of them looked completely opposed to the idea.

The realization hit Jayden like a bucket of cold water.

"Wait. You can't be serious," she said slowly, searching their faces.

Maris shifted uncomfortably on the couch, cheeks glowing bright red. "I'm not saying I'd… actually do anything," she mumbled, voice barely above a whisper. "But… Cain is… well, you know…"

Mira only pressed her lips together tightly, refusing to speak at all, which was its own kind of answer.

Jayden looked between them, ears flicking, tail swishing behind her in agitation. She opened her mouth to snap something back, but the words caught in her throat when she saw that none of them were joking.

Not even Kiyomi.

The fox-eared girl still wore that infuriating smirk, but there was a strange glint in her eyes now. Like she was genuinely considering the idea instead of just teasing for the fun of it.

Jayden's anger tangled with confusion until the two emotions twisted together into something messier.

"You can't just…" Jayden started, then stopped. Her growl softened into more of a frustrated rumble as she slumped back against the couch, gripping her pillow tight.

Kiyomi leaned forward on her elbows, watching Jayden with open amusement. "So what do you say, Wolfie? You going to keep him all to yourself? Or are you going to share with the class?"

Jayden's glare could have cut through steel. "I haven't decided anything," she snapped.

"Didn't sound like a no to me," Kiyomi sang, her grin stretching wider.

Jayden opened her mouth to argue, then hesitated. Her crimson eyes flicked toward Mira and Maris again. Both girls were bright red but… neither of them looked horrified. If anything, they seemed to be avoiding eye contact like people hiding a secret thought they didn't want discovered.

The wolf girl's ears twitched.

She thought of Cain. Of how overwhelming he had been. Of how she had left that night on shaky legs, her pride wounded but her heart pounding harder than it ever had before.

Her tail swished once behind her as she stared down at the pillow in her lap.

"I'll… consider it," she muttered finally.

Three sets of eyes snapped toward her at once.

"After," Jayden added firmly, "I talk to the other woman in his heart."

That set off another storm of reactions. Mira nearly choked on her drink. Maris whipped around in shock, demanding to know who she meant. Even Kiyomi, for once, looked genuinely caught off guard as she pressed for details.

Jayden refused to elaborate.

The gossip started immediately, loud and relentless, with all three girls firing questions faster than she could dodge them. It carried on long into the night, the teasing and speculation filling every corner of the room until Jayden wondered why she had ever opened her mouth in the first place.
