The sunlight swept through the battlefield, and it informed everyone that the morning had arrived.
The exhausted criminals were still fighting against the navy soldiers, and both sides were quite exhausted.
Adamas and his crew were fighting against groups of pirates, and they were doing swift work of them.
In that moment, they felt a threatening presence coming from behind them, and they saw four dark-clothed figures walking towards them.
Pirates paled and turned around to run away.
"Adamas…"
In that moment, Xerxus spoke with a low and even voice.
"B-Boss…?"
Adamas' eyes widened, and he then dropped on one knee with his head hanging low. His crew did the same.
It was easy for them to recognize Xerxus' voice.
"Why have you come here?"
Adamas asked.
Xerxus didn't answer, and instead, he flicked his wrist, and a long-barreled revolver appeared in his hand.
He pressed it against Adamas' forehead, and it shocked his crew to their very core.
"Why…?"
Adamas asked with his eyes shaking.
"Someone in your crew is a traitor that told our plan to the pirates. It must be one of you. Is it your Adamas?"
Xerxus asked coldly.
"I-I have no idea what you are talking about! There is no way one of us is a traitor. I don't believe it!"
Vice Admiral Adamas firmly stated.
He didn't think there was a snowball's chance in hell that any of them could possibly betray Xerxus.
"Someone is."
Xerxus said coldly.
Flap! Flap! Flap!
In that moment, they heard the sound of a bird's wings flapping, and when they turned to the sky, they saw Renette.
She was looking down at them ominously.
"Renette…"
Xerxus whispered with a deep look.
"Hello Xerxus… Imperius… Where is Orion?"
Renette asked.
"Dead."
Imperius said with his arms crossed.
"…How?"
Renette asked with a frown.
"He tried to become Martial God, and was struck down by the tribulation lightning. His body was destroyed beyond repair."
Xerxus said.
"…What a shame. I have been thinking about killing him every night for eight hundred years."
Renette said.
In that moment, several more powerful presences arrived nearby, and they were all Navy Admirals and Emperors.
They had stopped fighting against each other, as there were now more Immortals nearby.
Ethan stood on top of a black tree, its branches forming a throne for him to sit on, and he gazed down below.
"I am Fleet Admiral of the Navy, Ethan Blackforest. State your name and your business here, and which side you are on."
He said haughtily.
The Pirate Emperors thought that he was being foolish, as he was talking to Immortals, which meant that his rank as Fleet Admiral meant nothing.
The Immortals wouldn't care whether he was king of a powerful nation or just a lowly beggar. It was all the same to them.
"Our business is our own. It doesn't concern you."
Imperius Rex said from behind the mask.
He was also making his voice rougher to disguise his identity.
'…Why are these Immortals seemingly working together? I've heard that there are some secret Immortal-only societies. Could they be part of that?'
Karl-Michael wondered to himself.
"I need you all to stand down."
Pankratios summoned his staff, tapped it against the ground, and encased the Admirals, and Emperors inside a shimmering cage.
Admirals and Emperors hurled their attacks at the cage but couldn't break through.
"…This is looking bad."
Karl-Michael said, and clapped his hands together.
In that moment, his body turned gold-clad, and behind the cage close to him, a figure rose from the ground, and it soon stood a hundred meters tall.
It was a golden figure with hundreds of arms and three heads facing south, east, and west.
"That is Admiral Abracadabra's ability—Golden Man—I have never seen him use his powers before!"
The navy soldiers cried out in the battlefield as the golden light reached them all.
Golden Man looked down at Pankratios, reeled back his three heads, and shot his fists towards him.
About fifteen gold fists came flying towards Pankratios, and each fist was the size of a small mountain.
"Hop!"
Pankratios jumped into the air and tapped one of the golden fists with his staff—the golden fist turned to glass and shattered.
The rest of the fourteen gold fists came at him from all sides.
Pankratios twirled around, his staff leaving behind a trail of sparkling light, and when that light touched the golden fists, they all turned to glass.
"Shatter!"
He raised his staff high, and the golden fists cracked and shattered into billions of tiny pieces.
The pieces were so small that they glittered like diamonds in the sunlight.
"…I will get that truth out of you all."
Xerxus pushed the chamber out of the revolver, emptied it of his killing bullets, and filled it with different kinds of bullets instead.
These bullets were clad in a truth serum.
He quick fired, hitting Adamas, and all of his crew into the forehead, but there wasn't any damage left behind.
Their eyes just rolled back to their skulls.
"Who is the traitor?"
Xerxus asked with a hostile voice.
In that moment, one arm raised.
It belonged to a graybearded man, and he looked like he had suffered the most in the seas, as his face was scarred beyond recognition, and even his arm had been replaced with a hook.
"Ah?"
The youngest member of the crew exclaimed as he looked at the gray-bearded man.
He was literally the one that said he would follow Adamas to the hell and back, but he was a traitor all this time?
"It's you? Why?"
Xerxus asked with a hurt expression.
He was one of the longtime members of his crew, so this betrayal truly hurt him.
"…This is bullshit. Haven't I done enough? I have spent all my life on these seas and for nothing? I have no family to speak of… no one waiting me there when I come ashore…
"All I had done was heed the law, but now, you requested me to break the law to help that brat to cause a prison break.
"I am done… just done… I am done following orders blindly."
The gray-bearded man said coldly.
"You could've just left the navy. Why did you tell pirates what we are doing?"
Xerxus asked.
Adamas wasn't speaking a word as he looked like his soul had been crushed after hearing his second-hand man's words.
He was the person he least expected to betray them.
"…I heard the weather over in Pirate Kingdom is good at this time of year."
"Are you becoming a pirate?"
Xerxus asked with a frown.
"No… I am too old for that shit… I just thought that I might as well enjoy the rest of my life in Pirate Kingdom as king. I thought Pirate Emperors would be quite satisfied with what I had to tell them."
The gray-bearded man said with a chuckle.
"…"
Xerxus closed his eyes, slid one killing bullet inside the chamber, and then fired it straight at the man's forehead.
With that single bullet, the gray-bearded man's life ended.
