"Is that the one?"
Julian asked as he and Kiernan were running towards a navy battleship.
There were people standing on the deck, looking at them, but they didn't look alerted like the rest of the navy soldiers.
"Yep."
Kiernan said.
'How in the hell did Kiernan get navy soldiers to help with this prison break?'
Julian wondered.
They made their way up the gangplank and arrived at the deck of the ship, stared at by the battle-hardened navy soldiers.
"What a mess, aye."
Adamas said with a deep sigh.
"How did pirates find out about this?"
Kiernan asked.
"…That is a good question indeed."
Adamas said with a sigh.
'My initial plan was for the navy to capture the escaping criminals while I and Julian make a sneaky exit with the teleportation ceremony, but the pirates are messing up the plan.'
Kiernan thought.
In that moment, Antigone walked over to them with a relieved look on their face and said.
"I've prepared what we were talking about, Kiernan, but…"
She looked worryingly at Julian because the teleportation ceremony would take them to Pankratios' cave.
She wasn't sure whether they should take him there.
"You guys should leave quickly."
Adamas said.
Antigone nodded and started bringing Kiernan and Julian indoors of the ship, but then their ears perked up.
"Someone is coming!"
Adamas said.
A flying sword came flying from the air and stabbed into the deck. It was a saber sword, and its blade was on fire.
In that moment, a figure fell from the sky, landed at the deck, and picked up the sword with a cold gaze on his eyes.
He looked rather injured.
"I had been keeping my eye on you, Captain Jack… Except that is not who you really are, right?"
Rochan said with a scoff.
'How did he get here? The last time I saw him fighting those Vice Admirals, and it seemed like it was only a matter of time before he was killed off.'
Kiernan frowned.
"This was the plan, huh? For you to leave everyone else behind to die while you make your escape with… him."
Rochan looked at Julian with a frown.
To him, he wasn't anything special, but it was clear that "Captain Jack" came to the Downed Prison for this young man for some reason.
It didn't really make any sense to him, as he seemed like an ordinary Martial Master practitioner.
"And? It was every man for themselves as soon as we exited the Downed Prison either way. I do not need to save you."
Kiernan said.
"…I don't like being plotted against. Inside the prison… you wanted Langham to die, didn't you? You are a very careful man, and that was the only time you acted carelessly.
"It was like you didn't care whether Langham survived.
"It was because you already had transportation planned to leave this place, and you didn't want anyone else to leave.
"I also felt like you were delaying at times… You wanted Navy to arrive in time so you could ensure that the rest of us wouldn't be able to escape."
Rochan said, and cut some of his beard with the blade of the sword.
"…"
Kiernan didn't speak a word.
"I also expected that you weren't who you said you were. The way you moved… acted… wasn't like a typical pirate.
"I've heard that Captain Jack is a ruthless pirate captain who thrives in battle and was extremely thirsty for battle. You didn't check any of the boxes.
"You also avoided Coppah's touch like a plague, as if you didn't want him to make clones of you, because the real you would have been revealed, wouldn't I be right?"
Rochan looked coldly at Kiernan.
"And what do you want now?"
Kiernan asked.
"I want to leave this place, obviously. You will take me with you."
Rochan said coldly.
'…I could take him to Pankratios' cave and have him kill there, but what if they fail? I mean… Immortals should be able to kill him easily.
'I just don't know the extent of his abilities because he can steal other people's abilities, and he shouldn't have been able to survive those Vice Admirals.
'There is definitely ability that allows him to escape sure-death situations, and what if he does it again, and I expose the location of the Martial Order base?'
Kiernan thought, worried about consequences.
He then made his decision, looked at Rochan, and firmly said.
"No."
"Sigh…"
Rochan lowered his head and shook his head, and then his eyes turned cold.
"…If that is the case, then no one will leave."
Rochan stepped in, his feet sliding down the wooden deck, and his sword's silvery blade arching through the air.
It headed towards Kiernan's neck.
An instant death move as if he didn't want Kiernan to let out a single breath anymore in this life.
In that moment, a steel blade met his swing, deflecting the fatal blow just in time.
"You're in my boat, brat."
Vice Admiral Adamas said coldly, holding an ordinary navy sword pointed directly at Rochan's throat.
The rest of the battle-hardened navy soldiers held their weapons, staring down at Rochan with deadly looks.
The amount of pressure that they emitted was even too much for a Martial Legend such as Rochan.
This whole crew had been sailing these seas for hundreds of years, and they had seen more battles than Rochan had seen days.
This was the worst place for Rochan to come and act like he was the big shot.
"…I will remember this."
Rochan jumped backwards and then suddenly disappeared back into the forest.
"Leave quickly."
Adamas said.
He didn't want the navy to come chasing after Rochan and notice that he was letting Kiernan and Julian escape.
"Hurry up!"
Antigone rushed inside with Kiernan and Julian.
They arrived at the empty cabin, stood inside a ceremonial circle, and Antigone did the usual ritual.
"What is this…?"
Julian asked.
"It might feel weird for a first-timer. Hold your breath."
Kiernan said.
In that moment, the candlelight died off, and with bright light surrounding the circle, the three figures suddenly disappeared.
