The Bodyguard King’s CEO Wife

Chapter 695: Descent of Tree Breath

South America, Mili Forest.

"What is going on here." The Spiritual Energy descends, and such a spectacle has not been seen in Mili Forest for a very long time. Not just Mona, other elves also emerged, witnesses to this spectacle, discussing fervently with faces full of astonishment.

This giant tree, also referred to as the Life Tree by the elves, is the source of life for the entire elf tribe, as well as the object of all elves' faith. The Life Tree absorbs the forest's Spiritual Energy and gathers it here. The elves live here, generation after generation, their lives unending.

Forests depend on sunlight for survival, and so do the elves. As long as there is sunlight, their souls will not dissipate. Even without a physical body, their souls can remain intact.

And the most crucial point is that only elves can use the energy of the Life Tree. Including the Spiritual Energy here, only elves are able to absorb it. Not only is Ye Shikai unaware of this fact, even the Soul Blade is probably ignorant of it.

"Could it be that a great cultivator is undergoing a breakthrough here?"

"It appears that our elf tribe is about to witness the rise of an unparalleled prodigy."

The elves continued their discussion, moving toward the house. The pure Spiritual Energy seemed to be sucked into the house without end. Fortunately, the elf Soldiers maintaining order stood guard, or else a large group of elves would already have rushed forward.

"How can this be?" At this moment, Mona led the Hall Guards at the entrance, watching the scene unfold, everyone was shocked. The elves outside did not know who was inside, but the Hall Guards, as trusted aides, knew. The one imprisoned inside was indeed a human.

Mona channelled her energy, trying to open the Array she had set up, but found herself repelled by an extremely strong force. The magnitude of the energy was astonishing. It seemed impossible for Ye Shikai to possess such immense energy.

"How strange, the Barrier can't be opened." Mona exclaimed in surprise. At this time, the elders arrived from behind. The Hall Guards respectfully bowed their heads in homage.

"Greetings to Her Majesty the Queen."

"Greetings to Her Majesty the Queen."

"You elders have come." Recognising the five elders, Mona also showed a respectful expression. These were the Elders of the elf tribe, who also assisted her in ruling the kingdom and served as a backup in fending off external threats.

"We noticed an anomaly in the tree breath and sensed something momentous about to happen, so we came to investigate," said a male Elder.

"Your Majesty the Queen, what is going on? Is there someone inside the house?" At this point, another elf Elder interjected a question.

"Indeed." Mona nodded.

"May I ask, Your Majesty, the identity of the one inside the house?"

"He is a human." As soon as Mona finished speaking, the five Elders couldn't help but gasp for breath. Mili Forest had been free from human presence for a thousand years, and now that someone had come, such an event occurred.

"Elders, may I ask what it means for the tree breath to descend like this?"

"First, may I ask your majesty, is the human inside the house a cultivator?" An elf Elder spoke. She did not answer Mona's question nor asked another question.

"Indeed, Great Elder of the Primordial Soul, what does this mean?" Mona inquired of the middle-aged female Elder, who is the Great Elder of the elf tribe, possessing a lifespan of over ten thousand years. While the elf tribe once had many experts, many were lost in conflict with humans over the past few thousand years.

"Your Majesty, the descent of the tree breath signifies the cultivation of a rare prodigy, a feat only attained by three individuals since the inception of our tribe," exclaimed the Great Elder. "If it is as you say, that there is a human inside the house, then they must possess extraordinary talent."

"Your Majesty, if the person inside is indeed a cultivation genius as the Primordial Soul Elder said, then we must eliminate them quickly; otherwise, it would amount to adding a threat to our elf tribe," Liruo stepped forward and said. This statement brought the five Elders to exchange glances in silence, their expressions complex, especially the Great Elder of the Primordial Soul. As the Great Elder of the elf tribe and one of the oldest living elders, her experience and understanding of humans ran deep.

At the same time, Mona's expression was tense; unnoticed by others, both of her hands were clenched tightly. The grievances between humans and elves were persistent. Even among the elves Mona knew well, many had died at the hands of humans. Liruo was quite young at over a thousand years old—equivalent to a fifteen or sixteen-year-old human girl. Born in this forest and raised in an atmosphere of 'animosity towards humans,' she developed a deep-seated intent to kill humans. In fact, when Mona was Liruo's age, she too felt antagonism towards humans, until she met Ye Shikai…

Mona saw the Elders' tense faces and their hesitation, presumably troubled by the predicament regarding how to deal with Ye Shikai. If they spared him, on the chance he one day retaliated against the elf tribe, it would be nourishing a calamity. If they killed him, however, they would be subject to criticism. After all, Ye Shikai had not shown any hostility since his arrival. On the other hand, the descent of the tree breath was already known to other elves, and it wouldn't be long before it became a major incident.

"Great Elder of the Primordial Soul, take a look," indicated Liruo, pointing to the slowly disintegrating Array outside the house, gradually transforming into Spiritual Energy, absorbed by the house.

"The Barrier set by Her Majesty is considered impregnable; yet now, it's being turned into cultivation sustenance by that man," the Great Elder of the Primordial Soul exclaimed in amazement. "This person's future potential is boundless."

The disappearance of the Array also signified the vanishing of the Barrier, allowing the elves to enter. Liruo looked up at Mona with an anxious gaze.

"Your Majesty, I suggest we watch carefully for now and not act rashly," the Great Elder advised.

"The Great Elder is right. Hall Guards, heed my command. Seal this area, no elf is permitted to approach."

"As you command, Your Majesty."

.................................

"Excuse me, what has happened here?" At the same time, beneath the Life Tree, a woman draped in black veil spoke faintly.

"This is the descent of the tree breath! There must be a cultivator prodigy emerging; truly a blessing for our elf tribe," an excited elf stated beside her. The veiled woman nodded slightly, then stealthily walked to a deserted corner of the street and removed her veil, revealing an exquisitely beautiful visage—it was Ji Qian.

"The person cultivating above must be him," Ji Qian murmured to herself.
