In the Valley of Forsaken, a colossal aberration loomed over the devastated encampments of the Shadow Division. Its three pairs of eyes flared in silver hue, gazing upon those below it.
The Avatar.
It has four gargantuan arms, as erratic tendrils sprout from its back. The pale surface of its skin shimmered, capable of rivalling the strongest of alloys in the New World.
One would have mistaken it for Colossus, a long-forgotten Aberrant who met its end in the northern fringes of the continent.
But it wasn't that infamous Aberrant.
Otherwise, it would have been far larger at least, over two kilometers tall.
The gargantuan aberration towering in the valley was the Avatar of the Abominable, a combination of the monstrous pope and the rotting heart of the Colossus.
Damien looked at the Avatar and felt a strange sense of kinship. Whatever it was. There was no doubt that a correlation existed between them.
"Behemoth and Orochi! Take it down." He shook his head, throwing the thought in the back of his mind, and commanded his monsters.
Behemoth turned its giant head to the looming Avatar and roared without a tinge of fear behind its eyes. On the other hand, Orochi's eight heads hissed at the towering giant, baring their fangs.
The two giant monsters lunged towards the Avatar, each standing a hundred meters high.
Their steps caused the flatlands of the valley to tremble, a demonstration of their sheer weight. If one were to ravage a city, it would take a Paragon or a team of elite Jaegers to defeat it.
"Gryphos, I want you to support them." Damien looked at his Griffin, who made a piercing cry before soaring towards the Avatar.
Three monsters fought against the gargantuan aberration. Each of which was a three-star monster, the strongest ones within the arsenal.
The Avatar confronted the two giant monsters, fighting against them and resisting their deadly attacks. It used its two pairs of arms as leverage.
But the assistance of Gryphos, bothering the aberration's head, tipped the scales in favor of Damien's trio of super monsters.
Beside Damien, a crimson-haired vampire watched the violent battle between giant monsters. Her velvet eyes carried a hint of intrigue as she indifferently remarked.
"It feels like I'm watching a movie."
Hearing her words, Damien made a subtle smile and chuckled. "You fight a massive monster using a group of giant monsters. It's basic logic."
"More like movie logic." Her rosy lips curved as she added. "But it would take hours for them to defeat it."
"I won't deny that." He furrowed his eyebrows as the shining six eyes of the gargantuan aberration glowed even further.
The valley shook even further as the two noticed rubble levitating into the skies. It didn't take long for trees to uproot themselves, following suit.
"We celebrated too early." Damien wryly smiled and continued. "Looks like the monster also absorbed the Brand of the fallen Paragon."
"You think your monsters can handle a gravity-manipulating giant?" Hecate asked while stretching her arms upward.
After being nourished by the blood of her partner, the crimson-haired vampire's body has been restless. She didn't know why, but there was one thing she must do.
It was to punch something into damnation.
"Depends on how much it can control-" Damien couldn't even continue his response as mountains broke apart and rose into the skies.
The ground beneath them was shaking, which meant it was about to follow the same fate as the mountains surrounding it.
"So... What do you think?" She smirked at her partner, who was astounded at the sight. Damien shook his head and remarked. "Looks like we can't sit this out."
"Things wouldn't have escalated this far if it were that simple." Hecate leaped towards the Avatar and got in front of its head.
Without any hesitation or delay, she swung her fist at the six-eyed bastard. It was her full power as a full-fledged vampire.
As her punch pierced through the air, sonic booms followed before it impacted the surface of the Avatar's head.
The gargantuan aberration bellowed when its face was blasted by the crimson-haired vampire. The levitating mountains and rubble began hurling towards the giant monsters.
Behemoth roared, its thick scales shrugging chunks of earth crashing onto its body. But the same couldn't be said of Orochi.
One of its eight heads was injured when a mountain chunk was flung towards it. Although it wasn't fatal, it was proof that the Avatar was capable of suppressing them.
Damien utilized his fractured blink and teleported out of the impact zones where rubble and earth crashed in dozens. He stood in the distance, indifferent.
"It didn't target Hecate, who was in front of it and instead used her attack as a diversion to strike me," he mumbled while staring at the aberration.
"Well... If what the monstrous pope said was true, targeting me would make sense." He was considered a traitorous Aberrant.
Damien didn't know how much these Aberrants knew of him. But there was one thing he was confident of. The bridges between him and them had been burned down.
Standing on top of the Avatar's head, Hecate clenched her fist as she felt it aching from the punch she had thrown towards the bastard.
"Its properties didn't change, huh? Even somewhat stronger than before," she muttered under her breath and looked at the horizon.
"The view here looks amazing..."
Hecate thought of ways to pierce the pale skin of the gargantuan aberration, but does it matter? Its body was too gigantic for her attacks to be effective.
"Does it have to end like this?" Naturally, she wasn't out of options. The reason for her hesitation was that her last option was troublesome.
It was none other than her blood technique, Microcosm: Severance.
It was the ability she used that instantly annihilated a cardinal family from existence. However, it carried risks such as exhaustion and the loosening of the seal.
Hecate didn't want the ancient progenitor to be unsealed, especially not without her master to keep the old being in check.
But it has to be done.
Otherwise, they would lose against the Avatar. Besides, she was different from what she had been before. Nourished by the blood of her partner, she felt more in control of her abilities.
Meanwhile...
Damien reached a conclusion that would decide the outcome of the battle. As the Avatar threw another salvo of mountain chunks, he opened the status display.
It was time for another one of his monsters to evolve.
His first Monster.
Eclipse.

Through a single thought, Damien spent two thousand Terror Points for the two-star Extraterrestrial Monster to evolve into her third form.

| Evolution duration: five minutes... |
Five minutes... Could they last long enough against the Avatar? He looked at the gargantuan aberration. His giant monsters, Behemoth and Orochi, were barely holding it off.
Damien turned his sable-tinted gaze towards Hecate, who stood over the head of the colossal abomination. The two of them looked at each other and nodded.
The Avatar caught one of Orochi's heads and ripped it off its body. The giant snake-like dragon hissed as another head bit onto the torso of the gargantuan aberration.
Behemoth rammed its body towards the Avatar, but the colossal abomination barely flinched as its pair of arms suppressed the piercing horns of the giant lizard.
Damien utilized his fractured blink and teleported beside Hecate. Glancing at her, he gave a subtle smile. "It seems that we don't have a choice."
"Troublesome, to be honest." Hecate sighed to herself and continued. "If the ancient bastard wakes up, handle it without mercy. Don't let it use my face to fool you."
He took a deep breath and affirmed. "Trust yourself. Besides, you have changed a lot after drinking blood. You're different from the one that lost control in New Janus."
"I hope so."
Hecate didn't hesitate and activated her Blood Technique. She closed her eyelids and calmed her heart. Strands of her hair danced as the world around them hushed.
Severance.
Reality hummed as a bubble exploded outward and engulfed the entirety of the sundered encampments.
