The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 1979: Another Twist

"This shouldn't be something that you'd say, Miss Ouyang."

After sending this message to Ouyang Feifei, Luo Ziling thought for a while, then added a few more words: "You must be the prettiest one among the attendees, right?"

Ouyang Feifei didn't respond.

"Feeling in the spotlight, there's no need to belittle yourself like that. Alright, go to sleep, good night."

Ouyang Feifei only replied with a rolling eyes emoji, and Luo Ziling didn't bother her any further.

After taking a shower, Luo Ziling accepted Luo Liansheng's treatment.

Luo Ziling originally didn't really need Luo Liansheng's treatment, just needed good care.

But Luo Liansheng hoped he could recover his health quickly, so he planned to treat him every night before bed.

Luo Ziling declined twice, but eventually accepted.

When Luo Liansheng helped Luo Ziling regulate his blood circulation, he worked much harder than when he treated others, and the effects were naturally better as well.

During the treatment, Luo Ziling fell asleep.

When he woke up, it was already seven o'clock the next morning.

After getting up, he exercised with Luo Liansheng for a while, and then went to school for classes.

Just as he arrived at school, Luo Ziling received a call from Wu Mingyun, saying he was in his office and wanted to see him.

Luo Ziling knew that Wu Mingyun was also a representative attending one of the meetings, scheduled for today.

The meeting time was half-past nine in the morning, and it was eight o'clock now.

So early, looking for him in such a hurry, Luo Ziling thought something major must have happened again.

Unexpectedly, Wu Mingyun wanted to see him just to say hello.

"Ziling, I saw your mother and your grandfather. Could you talk to your mother and let me meet your grandfather? I have some matters I'd like to report to him in person."

Hearing Wu Mingyun mention 'in person' three times in one sentence, it was a clear indication of his nervousness, and Luo Ziling somewhat understood the dean's thoughts.

Wu Mingyun wanted to take this meeting opportunity to meet Ling Mingrui and try to gain some benefits.

Luo Ziling wasn't opposed to such behavior, but now was definitely not the right time.

Wu Mingyun probably didn't know what had happened. Few people witnessed Chen Yijing's removal at the conference center, and the news was quickly sealed, so many people were unaware.

Many people attended the conference, most of whom did not have a high social status and had no opportunity to interact with high-level figures. Even someone like Wu Mingyun was the same. Thus, he was not aware of Chen Yijing's situation.

Hearing Wu Mingyun say he wanted to take this meeting opportunity to report face-to-face about the matters concerning the National Traditional Medicine Laboratory and setting up a traditional medicine major at Yan University Medical School, Luo Ziling replied helplessly, "Dean Wu, it's not that I don't agree with you; it's just not appropriate right now. Let me be honest with you, there have been several major incidents at this conference. If you've followed my Weibo, you'll understand what's going on. Therefore, my grandfather certainly has no interest in dealing with these trivial matters at the moment. Perhaps it would be better to wait until these incidents pass before mentioning them. After all, it's not an urgent matter."

Wu Mingyun originally thought Luo Ziling would agree readily, and was surprised when he declined.

However, after listening to Luo Ziling's explanation, he ultimately accepted his reasoning.

"Let's find another opportunity later," he said, though he still felt a bit disappointed.

He had already prepared several proposals to show Ling Mingrui in hopes of gaining his special attention.

That was his prepared proposal.

But with Luo Ziling saying this, ling Mingrui knew that things could indeed be as complicated as Luo Ziling described.

"If there's no surprise, the matters concerning the national laboratory and the establishment of the traditional medicine major will have results after this conference," Luo Ziling shared some confirmed details with Wu Mingyun, "The approval documents should be issued within half a month at most."

"Really?" Wu Mingyun was very surprised upon hearing this, "That's great!"

He had been worried about this issue, and was astonished that it was nearly solved.

"Of course, nothing is guaranteed to succeed one hundred percent, and there's always a possibility of unexpected changes," Luo Ziling explained further. "However, the chance of that happening is small."

"I understand," Wu Mingyun nodded, "Well, I'll leave you to your classes then, go ahead!"

Luo Ziling quickly excused himself and returned to the classroom.

However, Luo Ziling still couldn't focus well in class.

He had just attended a Physiology class when he received a call from Wuyue, reporting a situation.

Luo Ziling hurriedly left the classroom and headed to the school gate.

Wuyue was waiting there.

After getting into Wuyue's car, Wuyue immediately reported the situation.

"Chen Yijing and Chen Jiahu still refuse to plead guilty. They deny all the evidence we've provided, and they don't acknowledge any of the witnesses' testimonies."

"Why do they even bother?" Luo Ziling smiled wryly, "Do they really think they're steadfast warriors, that they don't need to betray anything, and that their denials can rule out all their actions? I really don't believe it!"

"Young master, there are many people in the task force helping them," Wuyue pointed out when Luo Ziling didn't understand, clarifying, "Otherwise, they wouldn't act this way."

"Oh?!" Luo Ziling realized the severity of the situation; he had no experience in this field, so he didn't really understand. "Does my mom know about this?"

"Miss is in a meeting now, with no outside communication, and Jin Yan can't stay by her side, so I can't reach her," Wuyue quietly explained, "Unless she contacts me first."

Wuyue had attempted to contact Ling Ruonan but had not succeeded; messages were also unanswered.

Luo Ziling understood Wuyue's intention to approach him so early, and after thinking for a while, he said, "I'll try to figure out a way to inform my mom about this."

Luo Ziling immediately called his grandfather Luo Liansheng, asking what he was up to.

Luo Liansheng responded, questioning if Luo Ziling had something on his mind.

Luo Ziling explained the situation plainly and asked Luo Liansheng if he planned to visit Yang Yunlin today.

Luo Liansheng immediately understood Luo Ziling's intention.

"Then we should visit Old Sir Yang this noon to see the results of the recent treatments."

The grandfather and grandson decided to set out around ten o'clock to head to the conference venue.

Listening to Luo Ziling's plan, Wuyue quickly prepared.

Around ten o'clock, Wuyue drove, carrying Luo Ziling and Luo Liansheng to the conference center.

Security matters remained tight with no room for error, with two cars escorting them in the front and rear.

Everything went smoothly, and around eleven o'clock, Luo Ziling and Luo Liansheng entered the conference venue.

However, when they arrived, the morning meeting hadn't ended, so the grandfather and grandson had to wait in the lounge.

Luo Ziling didn't expect to encounter Chen Yining while waiting with Luo Liansheng.
