I Made The World Mutate

Chapter 69: Li Family Ancestral Hall

"This small stone corner clearly did not belong to the Evil Ghost, so where did it come from? Whose relic is it from amongst the deceased?

Xiao Mu pondered and suddenly thought of something, unable to resist looking towards Li Guangyou.

"Mr. Mu, thank you, thank you."

With the Evil Ghost slain, Li Guangyou immediately came to show his gratitude to Xiao Mu, his face full of appreciation.

"No need for formalities."

Xiao Mu modestly replied, then asked Li Guangyou, "Mr. Li, is there anything missing from your home?"

"Missing something?"

Li Guangyou was surprised by the question, but quickly shook his head, "Not that I know of. Mr. Mu, are you referring to the thing I mentioned earlier about the Evil Ghost carrying something off in the middle of the night? I found that quite strange too, so I checked my house thoroughly, but I didn't find anything missing."

"Oh!"

Xiao Mu was full of doubt.

Something must be missing from the Li family's home, and it must be something very important. Li Guangyou just doesn't know about it yet.

Picking up the small stone piece again, Xiao Mu took another look.

Perhaps, what the Li family is missing is related to this small stone piece.

"Mr. Mu, what is this?"

Li Guangyou noticed Xiao Mu looking at a small piece of stone and couldn't help but lean in to take a look, his face filled with astonishment.

He knew Xiao Mu found this small stone piece after killing the Evil Ghost.

"Mr. Li, take a look. Do you recognize what this is?"

Xiao Mu handed the small stone to Li Guangyou.

However, Li Guangyou jumped back in fright, waving his hands, "Mr. Mu, things left by Evil Ghosts must not be touched."

Things left by Evil Ghosts shouldn't be casually touched indeed because they carry a heavy Curse Power; if messed with, one could fall ill at a minimum, and in severe cases, incur death.

While Mutated Beings like Xiao Mu might be unaffected, ordinary people should not mess with it casually. Li Guangyou was well aware of these taboos.

"Don't worry, this small piece of stone does not belong to the Evil Ghost, you can touch it without any problems."

"I suspect it fell from something the Evil Ghost stole from your house. So, tell me, what is it?"

Xiao Mu explained and offered the small stone piece to Li Guangyou again.

"Oh!"

Upon hearing Xiao Mu, Li Guangyou carefully took the small stone piece, looked at it for a moment, then shook his head again, "I'm sorry, Mr. Mu, I really don't know what this is. It seems to be just a small piece of stone."

Xiao Mu couldn't help but chuckle upon hearing that.

This isn't just a small piece of stone. It is indeed a small piece of stone.

Albeit a stone, this piece of stone is certainly not an ordinary one.

It's just unfortunate that Li Guangyou couldn't recognize it.

Li Guangyou then invited Xiao Mu, "Mr. Mu, you helped my family get rid of the Evil Ghost, and I am very grateful. Please join us for a meal before you leave."

"No need... Huh!"

Xiao Mu was about to decline when his gaze involuntarily fell on Li Guangyou's face, and he immediately changed his mind, "Alright then!"

On Li Guangyou's face, there was still a shadow of Ill Luck.

This made Xiao Mu suspicious.

The Evil Ghost has already been eliminated, so why is there still Ill Luck on Li Guangyou's face?

Could it be that the Ill Luck on Li Guangyou's face has nothing to do with the two Evil Ghosts that were just exterminated? Is it caused by something else?

If so, Xiao Mu became interested.

No matter how the Ill Luck on Li Guangyou's face came about, the Ill Luck definitely has to do with the Evil Absurdity. Following Li Guangyou, there's bound to be new discoveries.

From the Ill Luck on Li Guangyou's face, Xiao Mu vaguely noticed that although the two Evil Ghosts had been exterminated, the Ill Luck on Li Guangyou's face seemed to not have diminished at all.

This indicates that whatever caused the Ill Luck on Li Guangyou's face is much more potent than the Evil Ghost.

This piqued Xiao Mu's interest.

Is it a Blood Demon? Or perhaps an evil zombie?

At the very least, it must be a Blood Demon or an evil zombie, otherwise, it wouldn't be possible to generate stronger Ill Luck than that caused by the Evil Ghost.

"Mr. Mu, please, my house is quite far from here, we'll have to drive back."

Li Guangyou extended his hand and invited Xiao Mu to the courtyard.

Xiao Mu nodded and as he walked out of the courtyard, he suddenly thought of something, "Mr. Li, now that the Evil Ghost has been banished, you should deal with the post you made. Otherwise, people might keep coming to your courtyard."

The reason for reminding Li Guangyou was because Xiao Mu was worried about being disturbed. If other people came and caught wind of the Evil Absurdity affecting Li Guangyou, it would be unpleasant.

Li Guangyou, upon being reminded, looked grateful, "Mr. Mu, had you not said it, I surely would have forgotten. I'll take care of the post right away."

He was obviously unaware of any other issues with himself and merely agreed with Xiao Mu's reasoning. Now that the Evil Ghost had been banished, keeping the post up would only attract more adepts to his courtyard, causing unnecessary trouble.

So he logged into the Forum, edited the post he had made earlier, stating that the ghost in his home had already been vanquished by a master and thanked all friends who had helped or intended to help.

After leaving the courtyard, Li Guangyou drove Xiao Mu to his house.

More than an hour later, they arrived at the Li residence where Li Guangyou invited Xiao Mu to get off the vehicle.

As soon as he got off the car, Xiao Mu's eyes were inevitably drawn to the sky above the Li family's courtyard. The shocking sight left Xiao Mu taken aback.

What a strong aura of decay!

A thick aura emanated from the Li family's courtyard, reaching high into the sky. It was dark in color and carried a strong sense of decay.

This was an omen of a family's downfall.

The term 'downfall' denotes family assets getting depleted along with impending mortality. It means that the family wealth is about to run out and someone is going to die.

Xiao Mu's gaze fell on one of the houses amidst this energy. The house was shrouded in a black veil, emitting an air of despair.

"What is that place?"

Xiao Mu pointed towards the house.

"It's our Ancestral Hall."

Following the direction of Xiao Mu's finger, Li Guangyou answered.

Xiao Mu nodded, not saying anything further. The problems with Li Guangyou seemed to be related to his family's Ancestral Hall, indicating there was an issue with his ancestors that was affecting him.

No wonder Li Guangyou's shadow was so faint.

If direct ancestors encounter an issue, the bloodline is affected, and the shadow naturally fades.

"Mr. Mu, please follow me."

Li Guangyou invited Xiao Mu into his home.

An amiable old man in his sixties or seventies was lying on a recliner in the courtyard, sunbathing and fanning himself with a palm-leaf fan while listening to the radio.

Xiao Mu's eyes quickly moved from the old man to the shadow underneath him.

Just like Li Guangyou, the old man's shadow was faint.

Xiao Mu's heart jolted.

Undoubtedly, this old man was Li Guangyou's father.

It seemed that the accident that happened to the ancestors of the Li family not only affected Li Guangyou but also Li Guangyou's father.

Seeing Li Guangyou bring someone in, the old man propped himself up and asked, "Who is this?"
