Pillar of Yita

Chapter 16 Completion_4

The simultaneously opened atrium not only facilitated maintenance of the airbags and the Guy Gas Generator but also made it more convenient.

The space at the front and back of the captain's quarters was about the same size and had been designated as a dedicated dining room and meeting room, to facilitate communal meals and discussions, as well as to plan future adventures.

Moreover, on ordinary days, the tables and chairs could be put away to serve as a temporary training room.

However, the main purpose of this cabin was actually to reserve space for potential future modifications, such as a professional woodworking studio and a sailmaker's workshop, which would not always occupy the alchemy workshop.

After these basic rooms were established, everyone also had numerous opinions both large and small, such as Miss Atira's kitchen equipped with a metal stove and chimney, and a medical office, wooden pulley group cranes, and so on.

The latter was because originally, food and some other supplies could still be transported manually (mainly relying on the Big Cat People), but after the total load of the platform was increased, it had to depend on the power of cranes and pulley groups.

Additonally, because it was now structured as cabins, the originally insignificant drainage issue on the platform had become a point of consideration. Fang Hong's solution was simple; after all, it wasn't a true Floating Hovercraft, so he addressed the issue with a series of drainage channels and a small elm water pump.

The remodeling of the platform took a full two weeks to complete, culminating in a shape resembling an elongated octagon—with top decks on both sides featuring parapets and battlements connected by two sloped staircases in front and back to the atrium below; the two original crossbow machines were placed on the deck, and in the center, the airbags were suspended from the ship's side by cables. The Guy Gas Generator was simply protected, yet primarily depended on the shield generator for defense.

Considering defense and structural load, the bottom was also processed into a curved shape similar to a ship's hull; the bottom cabin could also serve as a temporary warehouse, mainly used to store repair materials and other ballasts. However, since it wasn't a real airship, high-strength keels weren't used.

Because of its suspended nature, the platform ended up about three to four meters higher than originally, and Mr. Greyrock's Guy Generator that was on his back was no longer concealed within the platform but exposed outright.

Thus, during combat, the protection of both Mr. Greyrock and the Guy Generator on his back became an issue. The temporary solution was to have melee war professions descend to protect the Beasts of Burden once a battle began.

However, the ranged and non-combat professions on the platform were relatively safer than before.

Ultimately, aside from not yet changing the materials and not yet installing the outer armor, the platform looked quite the part, almost as if Mr. Greyrock was pulling a little floating craft along.

Of course— it only looked that way, when in fact it was far from it. Even in terms of structural complexity, it couldn't be compared with a true airship. Considering its capabilities, this platform could at best be described as a rather decent 'toy.'

But just being a 'toy,' when it was completed, everyone in the small Adventure Group still gathered together to hold a modest celebration. At that moment, everyone seemed a bit excited, even Xiangzi and 'Lady Papamo' couldn't avoid getting caught up in it.

The two of them walked around the platform several times, inspecting it all over.

Tianlan was beyond excited, not even Gita could hold her back. She kept running to her room, jumping up and down, barely stopping herself from shouting out loud.

Only Fang Hong let out a sigh of relief, looking at his creation with some satisfaction. He turned to Luo Yu and said,

"You've worked hard, Luo Yu."

"It's what I should do."

Luo Yu merely nodded. During the platform's rebuild, aside from Fang Hong, he had put in the most effort, acting as half a carpenter and shipbuilder, which was why Fang Hong spoke as he did.

Behind them, a noblewoman looked up at the platform, her light blue eyes sparkling with a strange brilliance, as if from this 'little boat,' she saw everything her father had described to her.

That great ship.

And that shining bridge—
