Fang Hong recognized it as a Clockwork Fairy, but couldn't make out which model. He nodded to everyone in greeting, but perhaps because too much time had passed, or Hilveld's makeup skills were too exquisite, the shop owner didn't seem to recognize the girl from many years ago.
When the two approached, he greeted them in a low voice, then asked what they needed.
The "Shadow Blade" and "Military Governor" that Fang Hong needed were actually in plain sight on the shelves, along with some even more peculiar and intriguing constructs that impressed him. The shop owner seemed indifferent but was serious and responsible. When asking about their needs, he even recommended a "Mirrorer" construct.
That was actually an old model of the "Shadow Blade," or to be precise, subsequent models were developed based on this prototype. Although outdated, it surprisingly met Fang Hong's needs.
The Shadow Blade is also a type of humanoid Combat Construct, part of the Agility System, but it's not strong in direct combat; it requires significant calculative power, which is why most Combat Artisans don't consider it. However, for Fang Hong, calculative power isn't an issue; its special abilities are quite suited to his needs.
The Shadow Blade's special abilities are primarily twofold: one is the creation of simulacrums, creating mirrored images of itself or its controller. This is an Illusion Technique, where the illusion won't make a sound but will repeat the Shadow Blade's movements.
Second is Teleportation, allowing the Shadow Blade to swap positions once with another Flexible Construct.
The Shadow Blade can create two illusions in a battle, but the "Mirrorer" recommended by the shop owner, although weaker in direct combat, can create as many as seven illusions in a battle, and it can even record the third simulacrum image besides itself and its controller.
With a quick scan in the system, its attributes were clear:
"Mirrorer [Prototype] (Equipment Level, F)"
Basic Attributes: Attack 57-71, Melee Hit 73, Balance Value 54
Protection Attributes: Armor Value 7, Durability Rating 170, Evasion Value 272, Block Value 35
Core Attributes: Output Power 165/200M (Power System 31, Teleportation Module 35, Mirror Module 31, Other Subsystems 12, Cooling System 51, Other 5), allows Overload (22 seconds), Core Heat Value: 52/420
Self Weight 32Kg, Combat Bearing 5kg
Weapon: Short Sword
Skill Set——
Create Simulacrum: Centers on itself, creates a silent illusion that repeats its actions within a thirty-meter radius (one of three images from the memory crystal), lasting five minutes or until voluntarily dissipated, maximum number of illusions 7/7, Magic Power consumption 7, core heat increase +22
Teleportation: Swaps positions once with another Flexible Construct within a twenty-meter radius (with the core crystal as the coordinate), Magic Power consumption (special), core heat increase +65
The "Mirrorer," followed by "[Prototype]," indicates this is the original form of this type of construct. In the current era, with Magic Guided Engineering having developed over many generations, prototypes of various kinds of constructs have become quite rare.
But as rare as they are, besides being collected by some due to their rarity, prototypes are not, contrary to what some people on the community claim, "collectors' edition" items; they are, in fact, more often than not synonymous with immature design.
Otherwise, there wouldn't be a need to produce derivative models later on.
The subsequent Equipment Level typically refers to the lowest Quality Level for this type of construct when it is produced. For instance, if the Screeching Banshee's Equipment Level is listed as E, it means any normally produced Screeching Banshee must at least have a Quality Level of E. If it is below E, it cannot be successfully produced.
And the F for the Mirrorer is already the lowest quality level, which is probably related to its prototype status.
This thing's effective durability (counting Armor, Evasion, and Block Value) is about 520, which is only two-thirds of an Energy Angel's, with even a lower Attack, and equally unappealing Accuracy and Balance, almost the same as Fang Hong's own, hardly impressive for a Combat Construct.
As a professional craftsman, Fang Hong needed only to analyze its Core Attributes to understand why. The "Mirrorer" has a Magic Power Output of 165/200M, with more than three-quarters of its base occupied, which is very uncommon among Flexible Constructs—and among the specific uses, the problem is evident—the Magic Power consumption of the Teleportation and Mirror Modules actually surpasses that of the Power System.
Indeed, within most constructs, it's rare to see a single subsystem surpassing the Magic Power consumption of the power system, not to mention two. And higher Magic Power consumption inevitably means higher heat generation, hence the bulky cooling system.
Seeing the Magic Power consumption of 51 for the cooling system, therefore, isn't surprising.
The skills further illustrate this: Teleportation's core heat shoot up to 65, and creating a simulacrum up to 22, which are substantially higher compared to the Screeching Banshee's two skills—Druid's Skills pale in comparison.
And because the Magic Power consumption is so high, it inevitably affects other areas, for instance, the remaining Magical Points are not even enough to support one round of creating seven simulacrums, which is quite peculiar.
The Teleportation skill requires an additional Magic Storage Crystal for energy, which further highlights the clunky Combat Bearing due to its weight. With a Self Weight of 36kg, almost three times that of the Screeching Banshee, but with only 4kg of Combat Bearing, it's even less than the Screeching Banshee.
