Pillar of Yita

Chapter 1 Growth_4

Fang Hong fell silent for a moment before he could not help but speak.

"That is the only thing I brought back from the second world. It's a special Dragon Soul Crystal that, reportedly, was created with ancient technology to resonate with the Hailin Crown."

"It's not my Dragon Soul Crystal, and no one has ever been able to activate it, but it at least possesses the same strength as a Dragon Soul Crystal, which allows its bearer to be resurrected once."

"When I gave it to you, I indeed hoped you could lure away the Guardian below, giving me time to shut down its control center—"

Miya looked at him as sunlight streamed over her shoulder, forming a Tyndall effect in the air, drifting idly among the dust.

"So, this is my apology to you."

"And I never expected that it would be a Dead Silence Zone inside..."

Fang Hong remained silent for a moment.

He actually understood that the incident with the Morning Dawn Star wasn't largely connected to Miya; the orders had been issued by the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team, and everything behind the scenes was dominated by the Descendants of Flor. In some way, the enemies he drew with the Star Dagger also saved their lives.

Otherwise, they would have died at the hands of Qin Zhi and the others much earlier.

She was just a temporary infiltrator.

If she hadn't known everything in advance, then she couldn't be accused of deceiving him about the Morning Dawn Star. And the only thing she kept hidden was perhaps about him—whether out of goodwill or malice, but it had already become a mistake—

Fang Hong didn't know what to do for a moment.

There was actually a huge misunderstanding.

He was not revived by the Star Dagger. If that were the case, he probably wouldn't have waited to see today's story unfold.

When he came to his senses, he was shocked to find Miya leaning forward slightly, placing a hand gently on his chest—where the original wound had long healed, but the emotional scars penetrated deep into his marrow.

The Wolf Clan girl seemed to be feeling something as she frowned slightly.

She thought that it must be painful there.

So painful that the resulting cracks could never be completely healed—

Fang Hong fell silent for a moment before asking, "What about after that, did you find those traitors?"

Miya did not answer but stood up and handed him a Transmission Crystal.

Recorded on the crystal was news from about a month ago:

'Major personnel changes in the BBK Alliance leadership, suspected personnel defection—'

Then it was news from the same month:

'BBK Alliance announces it is joining the Descendants of Flor—'

Further down, shockingly, was news from this month:

'Witch of the Sea spotted in Tarun—'

After a moment of silence.

"I found some people in Tarun. Although I didn't fully succeed, I also learned some things," Miya finally said, "I found you, actually, to tell you a few things..."

"I've decided to go to the second world with Little White."

She paused, then softly asked, "Ade, would you like to join me?"

Fang Hong looked up and was suddenly stunned.

If this same Wolf Clan girl had extended such an invitation to him before the Morning Dawn Star.

He would have been eager to agree, without even thinking, he'd surely have said yes.

But now, he felt a sense of responsibility. In this world, he had promises to keep; to walk away without a word wasn't in his character. Perhaps he was gradually letting go of past misunderstandings, but at that moment—

Fang Hong gently shook his head.

Because he was no longer the carefree young man he used to be, but was gradually becoming a Captain deemed trustworthy by everyone around him.

He would go to the second world, but not just yet.

Fang Hong looked up because he heard a gentle knocking sound. The regular, rhythmic knocking made his mind wander. "Excuse me, may I come in?"

Outside, came the polite inquiry of Hilveld.
