Pillar of Yita

Chapter 114: The Innkeeper_3

This gave Leiya a terrifying thought.

These things might be unkillable.

Or rather, the method she had at her disposal could not completely kill them.

But she shook her head; she had never seen such monsters before, and couldn't think of a better way at the moment.

This made Leiya grit her teeth — she wasn't worried about dying here, not to mention she still had Starlight, and from the moment she became a Protector — her Mentor had told her that the adage of that profession was to take life and death lightly.

Only by being unafraid of life and death can one fulfill the duties of a Guardian Knight.

What she worried more about was the young man inside Summer's End Tower; unlike others, she always felt he would go further.

Leiya knew in her heart that her personality was not common in this circle, and sometimes she seemed out of place with others. Especially after becoming a top player in this circle, most would consider more how they would develop.

This was understandable, as being a top Invoker also represented the strength of a national division, representing the interests of the domestic Guild Alliance.

But the path she insisted on had never changed — since the moment she became a Guardian Knight. Thinking of this, Leiya finally reached out and grasped the longsword behind her shield.

The Dragon Knight's Magic Power was exhausted.

She had one more chance to strike.

She no longer hoped to kill the mass of purple flame, but her target this time was still the Messenger not far away.

But the Messenger seemed to sense her intent, instinctively taking two steps back. In the next moment, Leiya chose to strike; her figure flashed — though clearly a heavy armor class, she instantly disappeared from the Messenger's vision.

This was the suppression brought by level difference in attributes.

The Messenger's heart chilled; he instinctively sent the mass of purple flame to attack. After several exchanges, he had roughly understood the opponent's attack habits. But for top experts, sometimes their attack habits were actually the habits they wanted you to know.

And sure enough, the flame-shaped Dwarf raised its axe to block in one direction, after which Leiya's figure flickered slightly before it, then vanished.

Illusion Technique.

The Messenger was taken aback; a Guardian Knight certainly wouldn't know Illusion Technique, but this didn't mean such a miraculous item wasn't on the opponent. Earlier, this Female Knight Commander had engaged directly without using such small skills, and now it proved highly effective.

He instinctively turned around.

Only to see Leiya appearing behind him with a cold expression, thrusting her sword at him.

The Messenger shrieked in fright, but at that moment, a mass of flame appeared in front of him. The other purple flame mass — that human male — suddenly appeared between him and Leiya, reaching out to grasp the longsword in the Female Knight Commander's hand.

Previously, such a grip might not have caught Leiya's sword. But at this moment, she was merely at the end of her powers.

He lightly blocked and caused Leiya's longsword to fly from her grasp.

"It's over!" Leiya gritted her teeth, eyes full of unwillingness, knowing that she was so close — but she lifted her head, realizing she had lost her last chance, she exhaled softly and resignedly closed her eyes.

She had done her best.

After the purple flame figure brushed away her longsword, it indeed raised its hand, turning it into a blade, slashing toward her.

But the slash never fell.

For Leiya startled and opened her eyes to see a gigantic, silver-scaled claw reaching out from behind, firmly grasping the flame figure's arm, pulling it gently, causing it to emit a horrifying screech before shattering into ashes.

The invincible monster she couldn't kill despite all her efforts seemed utterly powerless under this claw.

And Leiya raised her head, seeing the Messenger's eyes reflecting an expression of extreme shock.

In those eyes—

Stood a silver Giant Dragon, proudly behind her.

And at the distant edge of the Forest, Fang Hong couldn't help but gape.

He saw a Dragon — the owner of the Snow-covered Holy Bow Peak, that elegant, massive creature — a Cloud Dragon — and he now understood, that Nevade's owner, the Fairy Residence's possessor, Summer's End Tower's Tower Guard.

Was not an Elf.

But a Giant Dragon.
