Chapter 106: Speculation About the Omnipotent (Part 3)

Combat skills are the very essence of the Supreme One's life.

The moment Fang Hong pushed open the door and stepped out, it dawned on him—it seems the previous challenger from Odin's guild met their downfall at this very 230th door. He paused momentarily, realizing this with a sudden clarity.

No wonder Odin was so strict with him regarding the swordsman, teaching meticulously; the reason lies here. Presumably, that challenger, Ragnarok, was also a Combat Artisan not well-versed in Supreme One's skills.

That was the reason for their regret here.

After passing this blue door, the subsequent challenges didn't become simpler; instead, they delved deeper into the domain of the Supreme One.

For Fang Hong, this was somewhat vexing, yet he paid heed, as most of the combat skills and insights learned from various experts were merely superficial due to time constraints — many skills were just outlined, with hardly any subsequent experience investment.

But in this place, between one door and the next challenge, as long as he slowed down, there would be ample time to ponder. As previously mentioned, the green doors signify knowledge; though they also contain tests, they offer more fundamental learning.

Fang Hong wasn't short of experience; the experience potions given by various experts weren't fully 'digested', and the previous two red doors offered abundant experience rewards — providing him the chance to deepen his understanding of the Supreme One profession.

Though his focus was solely on passing the Hall of Thousand Doors test, unwittingly he had misguided his skill points to such an extent that he didn't realize at first, resulting in significantly slowed advancement; it took twelve full days to pass two red doors.

But at this juncture, it wasn't until the eleventh night that he arrived before the third red door.

By then, Fang Hong could be said to be mentally and physically exhausted; after all, he wasn't a full-time Supreme One, and this stretch of challenges nearly cost him his life. Before pushing open the third red door, he wasn't even sure if he would stop here.

Fortunately, learning wasn't without rewards; despite the peril, he managed to beat the BOSS guarding the third red door by relying on his pair of Rocket Fists, narrowly achieving victory.

Coincidentally, the third red door required him to rely solely on his own abilities to face a Construct Lord. This almost reversed Fang Hong's usual stance, giving him the illusion of confronting himself.

This precarious victory not only deepened his understanding of the Supreme One but also of the Construct Lord profession. After all, seeing oneself as an enemy sometimes makes it easier to spot one's weaknesses.

Following the third door, the Immortal Knight's test arrived as expected.

This completely confirmed Fang Hong's suspicions.

Starting this level, there were no longer any restrictions on the Combat Artisan's Flexible Construct, the only limitation being that they could only use one construct per combat. This undoubtedly was the core requirement of the Immortal Knight.

For Invokers from major guilds and powers, preparing a refined Main Construct wasn't difficult. Even those not Immortal Knights, like Swordsman-like Construct Lords leaning towards Supreme Ones, could present a similar construct.

However, for wild Combat Artisans like Fang Hong, this was clearly a huge issue. Though the rules beyond the door didn't restrict Artisans from assembling their constructs themselves—as previously mentioned, few possess such ability.

To speak of the distant, Fang Hong himself couldn't achieve it. The concept for the Main Construct came from the Dragon Knight Rigging; the complexity of such constructs and the difficulty of building them were imaginable.

Odin clearly couldn't prepare such a construct for Fang Hong immediately—and it wouldn't make sense for Ragnarok to invest in someone unrelated like Fang Hong. As for others, the extent of friendship was already teaching him, aside from experience potions, no further aid was possible.

Most experts probably assumed that three hundred doors might be Fang Hong's limit; they didn't expect more.

Yet Fang Hong himself, unexpectedly, discovered he could indeed produce a Flexible Construct similar to the Main Construct of an Immortal Knight. For this, he had to thank the Silver Weslan's Little Princess, Sophie, who brought the Variant Construct of the Fearless One—

Orphen's Twin Stars.

The Immortal Knight, one of the strangest categories among contemporary Combat Alchemists, its legendary status second only to the Fairy Master.

Rumor holds this is a proud profession—because Immortal Knights disdain controlling numerous inferior Flexible Constructs like Construct Lords, nor do they wish to forgo their Alchemist dignity, engaging in close-quarters combat with other combat professions or monsters like Supreme Ones.

Their choice is fidelity.

Immortal Knights focus solely on one construct, all enhancements and skill selections revolve around this construct. This construct is termed the Main Construct or Pseudo Dragon Knight, an exceedingly complex construct miracle, second only to the Dragon Knight Rigging of the Second World, deemed one of the contemporary Alchemy miracles.

Previously mentioned, the main structure of a Flexible Construct is composed of single-coordinated components most Flexible Constructs are made up of such coordinated components, like Clockwork Fairy, like a Sword Bearer, even Variant Energy Angels; all are like this.

The only distinction is the number of coordinated components; Clockwork Fairy has a few, but others might have dozens. However, for the Main Construct—Pseudo Dragon Knight, there might be hundreds, later even up to thousands.

That's what distinguishes them from ordinary constructs.

Yet precisely because the coordinated structure is excessive, these constructs are extremely difficult to control. For most Immortal Knights, the rookie phase is a trying experience. This profession is weak initially but strong eventually, one of the most formidable schools in the late-game Combat Artisan realm; the Pseudo Dragon Knight's title beneath the Combat Artisan Dragon Knights is mostly earned by this profession.

As for Fang Hong's Orphen Twin Stars, it's naturally not a Main Construct, as it does not possess the ability to upgrade along with the craftsman.

Yet at this level, compared to a Main Construct, the Orphen Twin Stars is not lacking in the least.

This 'not lacking,' naturally includes its structural complexity.

In truth, as a Variant construct for the Fearless One, Orphen's Twin Stars are somewhat unqualified; it seems the designer pursued comprehensiveness and strength excessively, rendering this construct too complex; typical Combat Artisans simply could not operate it.

That Sophie retained this variant construct instead of offering it to guilds' Combat Artisans naturally had her reasons; the Silver Weslan's Little Princess is shrewd in business, sparing no leniency.

Yet, no one anticipated the emergence of a prodigy like Fang Hong.

Despite that even Fang Hong, when solo-controlling Orphen's Twin Stars, struggled to attend to other construct manipulations.

However, he quickly realized using Orphen's Twin Stars in this test seemed somewhat akin to cheating—it lived up to its name, Orphen's Twin Stars is essentially a split-type construct.

It can be an integrated giant construct knight, yet simultaneously, it can split in two.
