Zombie Bodyguard

Chapter 1094: Mysterious Disappearance

"So what do we do now? Should we leave?" Guo Heng looked around nervously and said.

Now he had completely lost his ideas, transforming from his time flaunting on the basketball court. Some people are like that; they swagger over others due to their larger stature, bullying the weak, yet turn into cowards when something happens.

In that strong body, there is a weak heart.

Lin Tian glanced at him, coldly laughed, "Leave? Where do you want to go? Stay put, wait for the police to come ask questions."

Guo Heng nodded, not daring to defy him, waiting anxiously in fear. Half an hour passed, but no one came up, not even the police or security.

"Lin Tian, wh... why isn't anyone coming up?" Guo Heng whispered.

Lin Tian frowned, puzzled himself, thinking that such an incident should have caused a commotion, but the rooftop was still eerily quiet at night.

It's understandable if the security is slacking and didn't see the surveillance, unaware of what happened, but the police should have come by now. Lin Tian knew that the police in Xikou City were usually quick to respond, yet strangely, there wasn't a soul in sight.

"Something unexpected might have happened, let's go down." Lin Tian said with a frown, turning to leave without even glancing at Guo Heng.

Guo Heng looked at the empty rooftop, recalling the tragedy that occurred just now, shrinking his neck involuntarily, then quickly chasing after Lin Tian.

Lin Tian went downstairs, arriving outside the Black Dragon Bar and strangely discovered that the chaotic scene was gone. Only a few people remained gathered where Sun Decai had fallen.

No crowd, no security, and more peculiarly, no police, the scene was utterly bizarre.

"Lin... Lin Tian, Sun Decai's body... body is gone? Does that mean he's not dead and ran away himself?" Guo Heng said, but even as he spoke, he felt like he was talking nonsense, falling from such a height onto concrete, ten Sun Decais would be dead.

He thought Lin Tian would look down on him again, but Lin Tian didn't bother with him, instead heading towards the scene.

The few people watching saw Lin Tian approaching, and a middle-aged man called out, "Young man, you're here to check it out too? Don't bother, it's just a prank, nobody actually died jumping!"

The man's voice carried a tone of disappointment, like he's upset for not witnessing someone jump to their death, upset for missing the spectacle.

Lin Tian shook his head in silence, thinking what kind of people require a spectacle to be happy.

But Lin Tian still pretended to be casual, nodding at the middle-aged man, "Yeah, Uncle, I heard someone jumped off over here, so I came to see what's going on? Why aren't there any police here?"

"How can there be no police, they came and then left." Another person replied.

"What? Don't the police investigate before leaving?" Lin Tian pretended to be puzzled.

The middle-aged man sighed with some pride, "That's a good question, let me tell you, I'm the first witness. I was nearby at the time, heard a thud, and saw someone lying here. Many people saw it."

"Many people panicked; I was scared too, looking from afar before daring to approach. But I was the first to walk over; the others only dared to follow me. We surrounded the spot, guess what happened?"

The middle-aged man was speaking energetically, without waiting for Lin Tian's answer, continued, "Suddenly, a strong gust of wind blinded our eyes, and when it passed, the body was gone! Late at night, can you believe it, see a ghost?"

"The police came, didn't see the body, accused us of false reporting, and gave us an education." The middle-aged man still feeling indignant.

"Uncle, ghosts, really the older you get, the more timid! You have ghosts jump out and show me one, right? I think It was just someone's prank, dropping a dummy and quickly moved it away, just to scare people." A young man said dismissively.

Even though the young man spoke harshly, he gained support from others present, all agreeing with his reasoning.

Being ridiculed by a youngster, the middle-aged man's face flushed, struggling to explain, "Then what about the blood on the ground?"

"Blood? Blood is easier to explain. You've seen so much TV, but does the TV's gunshot blood gush also happen? Anyone can use chicken blood, duck blood, or even ketchup if necessary. Alright, alright, nothing else to see, disperse folks, just a prank." The young man waved impatiently, dismissing the crowd.

Not long after, everyone had left, the middle-aged man patted his head, puzzled, shaking it as he walked away, leaving Lin Tian and Guo Heng there.

Lin Tian paid no mind to the departing crowd, instead frowned at the bloodstains on the ground, he didn't need to stoop to smell, he could tell it was real human blood.

Moreover, he had seen Sun Decai jump himself, only separated by a few minutes, and the body was mysteriously gone.

What's going on? Lin Tian pondered, clearly understanding the key from the middle-aged man's account: something unknown occurred during the sudden gust of wind.

"Lin Tian, could it really be ghosts? It's so damn eerie!" Guo Heng whispered, shivering at the thought of being watched by a ghost.

"Yeah, you saw a ghost; it's right behind you." Lin Tian teased.

"You... you're lying; there are no ghosts in this world." Guo Heng said to bolster his courage, though he struggled to look back, feeling relieved upon seeing nothing.

Actually, even if there were ghosts, Guo Heng wouldn't see them, as ghosts are spiritual bodies unseen by human physical eyes, unless possessing the legendary Yin Yang eyes. However, if there were ghosts, Lin Tian would've seen them too, but he hadn't noticed any around here.

"It's fine, let's go." Lin Tian said calmly.

"Then I'm leaving." Guo Heng felt as if a heavy burden lifted, ready to turn and leave.

"Hold it, you just leave like that? How about heading back to bring the car here." Lin Tian ordered coldly.

"Wait a moment." Guo Heng dared not defy, complying obediently.

Once again, Lin Tian took Guo Heng's car back to the Xiao Mansion, as soon as Lin Tian stepped out, Guo Heng dashed away, slamming the gas pedal.

Returning to the villa's living room, Miss and Xiao Manxuan were seated on the sofa, but the TV was off. During times like these, neither had the mood for TV, solely concerned about their mother's safety.

Seeing Lin Tian return, they quickly asked, "Lin Tian, how did it go? Why did Guo Heng reach out to you?"

Lin Tian sat down, looked at the two sisters, and said, "Sun Decai is dead."
