Legend of the chosen ones: Beyond Destiny

Chapter 504: Trust

The world after the Rabbit Hole was like an otherworldly oasis.

In another dreamlike gap, the endless plains were lush with green grass, a cool breeze blew from afar, and the sea of grass rippled in waves.

The members who escaped disaster sat on the ground, looking around in a daze, crying, laughing, or simply staring blankly. So much impact, so much change in just one short night.

Whether joy or sorrow, it was all too overwhelming, leaving everyone exhausted and numb, unable to laugh or cry.

However, having grown accustomed to wandering and struggling, someone soon began to organize order again, seizing the time to rebuild the camp while tending to the injured.

Yu Shu was busy without a moment to spare, quickly suturing and infusing spiritual essence into the dismembered injured, urging rapid healing. Amid the wails and groans, one complete or incomplete person after another was pieced back together.

In haste, unable to distinguish properly, awkward situations occurred where others' limbs were sewn onto oneself, which could only be rearranged after Yu Shu was done.

Old Deng sure had found a good place.

The scouts sent to explore returned, having discovered several springs with sweet water and colorful fish swimming within, as though remnants from a wonderful dream.

Amidst the hustle and bustle, the supplies previously loaded into carts were all unloaded — mostly handcrafted equipment and tools painstakingly made, even food to boost morale.

But there was a scarcity of materials like cloth, wood, and even steel — just a drop in the bucket, utterly insufficient.

Everyone could only temporarily lie on the ground to rest.

Upon understanding the situation, Bao Dacai, who usually shirked work, sighed. Since work was already done, he might as well finish it, delivering to the very end.

"Everyone move back a bit, clear out a space."

He took off the peculiar hat from his head, held it in his hand, stretched it, and straightened it, making it look like a barrel.

The hat was placed on the ground with its opening facing up, and then he pulled out a small horn, blowing it towards the barrel-like hat. Amidst the off-tune, strange horn sound, the barrel-like hat began vibrating violently.

Right after, as if vomiting, a massive spray of miscellaneous items erupted!

Tarps, stones, iron pieces, broken branches, ruined furniture, tattered skirts...

Most were fragments, with only a few complete pieces. Among them was half of the treatment chair from the original camp's Yu Shu's clinic.

Nearly everything was from the old camp site.

Yes, mixed within were bits of unknown meat, corpse fragments, twisted armor scraps, and broken weapons... yet nobody bothered with those anymore.

Witnessing the miracle unfolding before their eyes, everyone couldn't help but cheer again.

Even Ji Jue by the side couldn't help clapping.

An absolute Nirvana.

It's irrelevant whether the legacy of Mo was grand or distant, but the essence of immediately escaping by grabbing a bucket was truly passed down.

The trips-ready-to-go were always readily available.

And with such odd equipment and skills, Ji Jue suspected that Old Deng felt no discomfort adapting to this dream world.

Simply thriving, as if in his element!

Heart Core, ether, and Mirror form the three Superiors of this golden millet dream, and you've nailed every single one with your Marvelous Alchemy!

If not for some trust in Mo's style and Nirvana's anarchistic tendencies, Ji Jue would suspect he was an undercover agent planted by the other side...

"No wonder it's Marvelous Alchemy, truly eye-opening."

"Just a minor trick, not worth mentioning."

Old Deng's face retained the same gentle, kindly smile, like one of those approachable Old Dengs lounging in the street, his bucket-like hat back to its original state.

The brim seemed to exhale like it was exhausted, puffing out a wisp of smoke.

After giving it a pat, he put it back on.

Ji Jue silently sighed.

Indeed, however you look, he seems so odd...

"What's up?"

Bao Dacai grinned, "Very ugly, huh?"

"No, nothing."

Ji Jue slowly shook his head: "In matters of taste, I'm in no position to judge others. Just, it feels..."

He paused, his own thought amusing him: "This hat looks like a snake that swallowed an elephant."

"..."

Bao Dacai was silent, his expression twitching slightly.

He looked bewildered, a puzzling expression.

Even the brim that resembled a snake's edge slightly lifted, as if looking at him too.

"What's wrong?" Ji Jue was puzzled, feeling he might have misspoken, "Ah, sorry, just..."

"No, nothing."

Bao Dacai grinned, revealing his old yellow teeth, saying, "The hat is happy."

"Huh?"

Ji Jue was baffled.

Bao Dacai lifted a hand, pointing at the wiggling brim, beaming with excitement: "See, it's saying thank you."

Ji Jue was lost for words.

Completely unable to understand, it was all so mystical — could this be the Marvelous Alchemy?

Truly beyond comprehension through common sense and logic.

Utterly perplexing.

"As the saying goes, old things grow spirits, perhaps, Mr. Ji, you are the kind they especially like." Bao Dacai tapped the brim, then shook some peculiar hangings inside his clothes: "They are all chirping, rarely do they show interest in others like this."
