This time, Lucien did not lose consciousness after using Nexus Mode… At first, he was like a spectator watching a movie in first person. He saw his body move at high speed after taking the radio from the hands of William's killer. From time to time, he adjusted the radio frequency and saw strange signals sent by the system appear in his vision.

He knew that the system was probably helping him, using the Biological Antenna on top of his building to triangulate the signal of Madame Serena Ceres' kidnappers, William's mother.

After running for a while and arriving at another mansion, Lucien silently infiltrated until he reached a large living room; many voices came from there, and everyone seemed quite excited.

He hid and saw a group of men laughing and cooking in the middle of the room. They were using the large fireplace as a stove, cooking something that smelled like jerky. Most of them were shouting while talking, others were making obscene gestures and waving towards the second floor, while the rest were laughing loudly. Lucien's expression remained apathetic. At that moment, he finally regained control of his body and finally understood what Nexus Mode was.

He could look coldly and calculatingly at all these murderers who had caused William's death and kidnapped his mother. There was no anger, fury, hatred, or even the enormous pain he had felt moments before for losing his precious friend. There was only rationality, and at that moment, all he was thinking about was how to kill them all most quickly and efficiently…

After a quick count, Lucien noticed there were 7 men on the ground floor, and one more in front of a second-floor door, as if he were a guard watching the entrance.

"Could Madame Serene be there?"

Without hesitation, Lucien began his attack. He shot an arrow into the ceiling above the men before continuing to move through the darkness.

The first arrow plunged everyone into darkness, extinguishing the only light in the main hall. The fire in the fireplace barely illuminated the surroundings of the mansion's enormous living room.

"What happened?" One of the men asked, rising from the sofa and looking up after hearing the lamp explode and go out.

"I don't know, maybe Duval's makeshift lighting malfunctioned—"

In the middle of the sentence, the man fell to the floor like a piece of wood. When his companion looked to the side, he saw through the dim light that he had a white arrow through his head.

"Siss"

The man sighed loudly and shouted:

"WE ARE—URGH"

Before he could alert the others, the second man was struck by an arrow in the throat, interrupting his speech. But the commotion had already alerted all five who were nearby. They raised various bladed weapons, preparing to fight, and one of them even had a revolver and was ready to shoot.

Suddenly, all five saw a luminous red sphere slowly roll across the living room floor until it reached near their legs in the middle of their group.

The sphere was very beautiful and exuded a mesmerizing red glow reminiscent of the crystals they all longed to obtain more of. But such crimson beauty meant its extreme lethality!

"BOOM"

An explosion of fragments pushed all these humans away from the defensive circle they had formed. One of them died instantly with fragments piercing his head, and another barely moved, losing consciousness immediately. The other three barely moved, dozens of bone fragments embedded throughout their bodies.

The best of them limped to his feet, one leg bleeding, and began to climb the stairs in terror after seeing luminous white eyes staring at him through the darkness.

Lucien observed the system messages and the damage from the Level 2 Crystal Bomb… All these men were indeed Level 2 mutants, or they wouldn't dare go around looting places and injuring innocents…

Noticing that two wounded men were leaning on each other and trying to escape towards the dining room, Lucien threw another bomb. But this one went towards the sky.

"BOOM"

"Tsss"

"Ahhh"

"Ahhh"

The two men screamed as a liquid erupted from the explosion, covering their bodies with an acidic hiss, melting their clothes, skin, and muscles, slowly killing them.

It was the terrifying Level 2 Acid Bomb!

Lucien then shot an arrow into the unconscious man's head, ensuring his death, and calmly looked at the last man, who was limping up the stairs and approaching a door where two more men stared at him.

He began to climb the stairs and fired an arrow into the limping man's good left leg, causing him to fall face down inside the room that had been opened, and threw a third grenade.

"Sound Grenade Level 1!"

"Zuuimm"

A high-pitched sound made the last three men who were still alive cover their ears and scream in agony as they fled into the office where Madame Serena Ceres was, hastily closing the doors.

Since Madame Serena was captured, all she could think about was her unconscious son in the mansion, and the terrible fate she would suffer at the hands of these men who had already argued about how to divide her as if she were some spoils.

Despite being a mother with a nearly 11-year-old son, she was only 33 and knew she was too beautiful to be spared by these criminals who had invaded her home… She even questioned whether she should find a way to end her own life to avoid her terrible future at the hands of these men… It was at this moment, while she was reflecting, that a huge commotion began inside the mansion.

Several screams and explosions rang out from the ground floor of the mansion. Alerted by the clamor, Marcelo "The Hammer" stood up and left the room. Seconds later, a wounded man entered the room where she was tied up and was struck by a white arrow in his left leg, falling face down and screaming in agony.

After a loud, sharp sound that hurt even her ears, Marcelo went back into his office seeking shelter behind his desk. The man guarding the door closed it and used his body to prevent the intruder from entering, but this ended up being his biggest mistake.

Another white arrow with a red tip was shot; this one pierced both the sturdy wooden door and the guard's head, killing him instantly and trapping his body in the heavy door.

Marcelo's eyes widened at the terrifying scene, but before he could do anything, the door was broken open and thrown open by a powerful blow.

Madame Serena saw the silhouette of a child slowly enter the room; he was only a few centimeters taller than her son and had light brown hair. He drew his reddish-white bow and fired another arrow. The arrow pierced Marcelo's chest, making him scream and gasp as he could barely stand.

The man then tried to draw a pistol from his waist, but another arrow lodged in his arm, sending the weapon flying and causing him to scream.

"ARGH"

"Humpf"

"DAMN IT, YOU DEMON, WHAT DO YOU WANT?"

Marcelo yelled, trying to figure out who the intruder was while breathing heavily, feeling his lungs fill with blood.

It was then that the boy turned his face, and Madame Serena finally recognized him as her son's best friend, Lucien. But at this moment, the kind boy she had known before was no longer there; he now had luminous white eyes that, after gazing at her bound figure, gave her a terrible feeling of coldness.

"LuZien?" She tried to confirm if it was indeed him, still with her mouth gagged.

Lucien finally found Madame Serena Ceres. He sheathed his bow and stepped on the neck of the man lying face down on the floor, killing him by breaking his neck and causing his body and the man under the door to disappear. He then walked to William's mother and, using a white knife, untied her.

Lucien was speechless as he saw Madame Serena hug him tightly, crying and thanking him.

"Thank you, dear… Sob, thank you so much… We have to go back soon, William was injured when I was taken by those monsters…"

Marcelo "The Hammer" finally understood why that demon attacked his group! It was all because of the woman they had kidnapped!

He took advantage of the moment when the woman embraced the demon child and pulled the arrow from her chest, quickly swallowing two level 1 crystals, which helped him temporarily heal from the fatal wound. He then looked at the firearm that had fallen a short distance away, wondering if he would have time to reach it…

"Ahhh"

Lucien, who hadn't taken his eyes off the criminal, stopped the embrace and fired another arrow, this time immobilizing Marcelo's other arm.

"Damn it! What do you want? You already saved the woman, take her away… I promise I won't come after you…"

"Walk!"

Lucien only said one word and pointed the bow with another arrow at his head, gesturing for him to leave the office.

With no choice, Marcelo "The Hammer" walked with both wounded arms under Lucien's aim until they left the mansion. Along the way, both he and the woman were frightened to see the boy make the bodies of their men disappear whenever he passed near them.

Marcelo didn't know why he wanted to take him somewhere else, but he still followed him through the dangerous night streets of Jyera until finally the three returned to a familiar mansion…
