Cain nodded to the Enlightened One with quiet gratitude. The man had forced the Overseer to reveal another of his hidden trump cards, the supreme defense. It wasn't just indestructible; striking it produced a horrifying recoil. If Cain found himself facing it, he would know better than to slam it directly.
As the Enlightened One stepped back, Cain turned his gaze toward the warriors of the Freedom Path, focusing on Braldy. According to their unspoken rotation, it was now the Neo-Angel's turn to face the Overseer, though whether he would accept was uncertain.
Braldy met Cain's eyes, but before he could speak, he felt another gaze upon him. The Crimson Exarch. The man said nothing, yet his intent was unmistakable; he wanted Braldy to fight.
After a long moment, Braldy sighed.
"This will make us even," he said softly, "for all the help you've given toward mastering the Flow."
The Crimson Exarch gave a silent nod.
Without another word, the Neo-Angel walked toward the Overseer.
The moment Braldy crossed within a thousand meters, the milky white force wall shimmered into existence, sealing them both inside and keeping everybody outside. The Overseer adjusted his cultivation to match Braldy's, becoming an Early Alpha-Omega Overgod life form.
The air trembled as the Overseer's energy flared, his presence so heavy it felt like a colossal hand pressing down upon the Neo-Angel's shoulders.
Taking a deep breath, Braldy used his minute of preparation wisely. Turquoise veins of divine blood pulsed across his body as the Light of the Flow intertwined with his energy. His physical might rose to astonishing heights, one that his natural form had never been capable of reaching before, yet even so, his instincts screamed danger as he focused on his opponent.
Like the Enlightened One before him, Braldy chose not to attack first. He knew he could not overcome the Overseer's mastery of the Flow through technique or distance. His only hope was a direct brawl, pure strength against strength, using the first strike to take control over the momentum of the fight and advance from there.
As the final second ticked down, the Overseer vanished. His speed was so great it tore through space itself, moving so fast that Cain's eyes were barely able to perceive him.
Braldy waited until the last instant, and when the Overseer was right before him, he then launched his fist forward.
The punch collided with the Overseer's polearm, releasing all the power he had stored in that moment. The impact birthed a shockwave that rippled through the Seventh Ring.
But it wasn't enough.
Braldy failed to push the Overseer back; instead, both were thrown apart by the collision.
Even after charging his blow for an entire minute, Braldy's strike barely reached the Middle Alpha-Omega Overgod Tier, only one stage above his cultivation base. Unlike the Enlightened One, who had managed to rise more than half a rank through sheer focus and resonance, Braldy's increase was modest. It made sense — the higher one ascended, the harder it became to break through to another tier in terms of battle power.
The Neo-Angel and the Overseer regained balance almost simultaneously. What followed was a one-sided battle.
The Overseer dominated every exchange, his strikes relentless and precise. In less than two minutes, Braldy's body was covered in cuts, several dangerously close to vital points.
He clenched his fists, channeling power into his Neo-Angel Core. For a heartbeat, he considered triggering Salvation Incarnation and achieving his ultimate form, but after a second, he shook his head. It wouldn't be enough to win. All it would do was strain his body and soul.
With a heavy sigh, Braldy disengaged and stepped back through the barrier.
The Neo-Angel walked away silently, focusing on his healing.
Cain exhaled slowly. The clash had yielded little insight, except the reminder that the higher one climbed in rank, the narrower the margin for growth became.
His gaze shifted to Tiramisu, the True Depravita of Primal Fury. The woman nodded once, her aura igniting as she assumed her battle form.
Tiramisu's strength surpassed Braldy's, though not by much and certainly not enough to overcome the Overseer outright. She channeled everything into speed, her goal not victory but to test the Overseer's reflexes, to see if his Flow mastery extended to motion itself.
The result was brutal.
Even with her immortal constitution, Tiramisu lasted only a few minutes. Her movements blurred faster than sight, yet the Overseer matched her pace effortlessly, each strike predicting the next. Finally, her right arm was severed in a flash of golden light, forcing her to retreat beyond the force wall.
Cain clasped his hands together and bowed slightly to her in gratitude. Every battle, even in defeat, revealed a lot of information regarding the top speed of the Overseer.
The Neo-Demon turned his attention back to the Overseer.
No one had come close to victory, yet the collective effort had yielded a wealth of knowledge. Cain now understood the Overseer's strength, speed, defenses, and many of his Flow-based abilities. There were undoubtedly more yet unseen, but at least now the unknown had limits.
Taking a deep breath, the Neo-Demon extended his hand.
Sky Devourer materialized in his palm, reshaping itself to match his current form, denser, sharper, deadlier. The Crimson Light coursed through the weapon in perfect harmony with his energy, amplifying its destructive potential.
He exhaled once more, calm and resolute, and began walking forward.
Each step echoed faintly against the metal floor as he crossed the threshold of the arena.
Within moments, he stood less than a thousand meters from the Overseer.
The translucent, milky-white force wall manifested again, sealing the field of battle. As always, these duels were meant to be individual trials, and no one else could interfere.
At least, that was what the rules of the Seventh Ring decreed according to the Overseer's own words.
But just as Cain prepared to focus his energy, his eyes widened in shock.
A figure had appeared beside him inside the barrier.
