Wizard: I Can Refine Everything

Chapter 133: Defense of the Everdark World (Part 6)

Although Gao Wen is an Alchemy Wizard, his basic military skills are no worse than those of other Wizards.

Stealth and disguise are necessary skills that an elite Wizard must possess, though most of the time, these skills are seldom needed.

Upon receiving the message, Asu found Gao Wen with the same approach. The two were longtime partners, and their actions flowed with exceptional tacit understanding. Without words, a shared glance was enough for them to understand each other's intentions.

They stealthily approached the top layer, feeling tiny tremors of energy along the walls continuously entering their perception.

"This isn't right." Gao Wen's heart sank.

The materials used in the fort are composite enchantment materials, thoroughly absorbing energy and even shockwaves.

Unless it was an extremely violent attack, there wouldn't be even the slightest tremor inside the fort.

And now the airborne assault has ended; the outer attack shouldn't cause such large vibrations.

"What are they doing? Directed blasting?"

Gao Wen was unsure, so he continued forward.

In the communication systems, the squad leaders' voices were coming in succession.

"Target spotted, target spotted." "The enemy is infiltrating the fort, the enemy is infiltrating the fort." "We are blocking them, we need reinforcements."

The squad leaders' voices made Gao Wen's heart grow heavy, feeling as though he had fallen into a trap.

The two arrived at the top layer, where a damaged drop pod appeared before them. The exterior of the drop pod was riddled with melted holes; only a small part was intact.

Inside this intact portion of the drop pod, there were three Furnace Men surviving.

At this moment, two of the Furnace Men were defending while one was setting up a complex machine.

The tremors they felt emanated from that machine.

Gao Wen couldn't discern its purpose, but his intuition told him that the machine was the reason for the constant reinforcements from the Furnace Men.

Without hesitation, Gao Wen chose to act.

Asu rushed forward immediately; his Alchemy Power Armor was thickened, capable of withstanding extensive attacks.

Moreover, he was also a close combat type.

The Fine Worked Instant Death Sword was sufficient to penetrate any energy defense under Fifty Thousand Power Level. His hand armor, customized by Gao Wen, had a Decomposition Force Field.

Standing behind him, Gao Wen's Alchemy Power Armor extended several mechanical arms.

These arms were equipped with small Decomposition Cannons; after multiple modifications, these weapons had become essential for elite Wizards.

The small Decomposition Cannons emitted streaks of colorful light, instantly piercing through two alert Furnace Men.

Asu followed closely, bravely enduring the attacks of the Furnace Men in front of them. The Instant Death Sword in his hand broke through the Energy Barrier in one strike; his hand armor with the Decomposition Force Field pierced through the chests of two Furnace Men in two punches.

In just a single breath, two Third Level Furnace Men lost their vitality.

The last Furnace Man still attempted to resist, but Gao Wen's Decomposition Cannon immediately penetrated his brain. Asu delivered the final blow, and Gao Wen stepped toward the corpse of the Furnace Man.

As an elite Wizard, Gao Wen's academic knowledge was quite decent.

Compared to some of his peers who could be considered illiterate, he was definitely regarded as an excellent student.

So, after fiddling for a while, he recognized the function of the Teleportation Beacon and immediately understood the tactics of the Furnace Men.

"No matter the losses, this war is getting tougher, isn't it?" Gao Wen murmured.

But as a soldier, no matter how tough it gets, he must tough it out and fight.

He collected the Teleportation Beacon and relayed this information to the General Command.

In the General Command, war advisors from the Wizard Alliance and commanders of the Eye Demons sat silently as they looked at the information being reported below.

A heavy, oppressive silence filled the entire command center.

"No matter the losses, no matter the cost. He is determined to conquer this world." The Eye Demon General Commander murmured.

"So, we can't let him succeed." The Wizard Commander spoke solemnly.

"But what can we do? Against absolute power, our tactics are useless. We've done everything we could." An Eye Demon Commander spoke with a hint of despair in his voice.

"Have we really done it all? I don't think so." The Demon Commander from the Abyss spoke calmly.

For Abyss Demons, dying in such a grand war is not a bad thing. To perish in such grandeur, Abyss Demons feel a deep sense of fulfillment.

Of course, surviving is even better.

"What are you suggesting?" The Eye Demon Commander asked.

"I'm saying we haven't given it our all yet." A feverish smile suddenly appeared on the face of the Abyss Demon. "This world has not yet been transformed into an Abyss World. If it were converted into an Abyss World, we would no longer be merely at a disadvantage in this war."

Abyss Transformation, the Wizard Alliance's final card.

A world transformed by the Abyss cannot be reversed. This is an unacceptable prospect for any civilization. Unless it comes to the last moment, no civilization would willingly accept their world being converted by the Abyss.

But at this moment, the Eye Demons seemed to have no choice.

Instantly, all the commanders' gazes turned toward the Eye Demon General Commander.

Now that many Eye Demon Elders were absent, only he could make this decision.

"Abyss Transformation?"

The Eye Demon General Commander's voice carried a weight of gravity.

This is a difficult choice. If this world is transformed into an Abyss World, the mother world of the Eye Demons will cease to exist.

All they will have left is an Abyss World called the Eternal Dark World.

However, if this world is devoured by the Civilization Devourer, they won't even have a place to remember.

"Regardless of the losses, regardless of the costs. If they can do it, so can we."

The General Commander's voice suddenly became grand, with a note of determination in it.

"As the Eye Demon Commander, I order the Abyss Transformation in the Eternal Dark World to crush the Civilization Devourer's intent to devour this world."

"Yes, General Commander, Sir."

The many commanders replied in unison.

...

In the boundless void, a giant holding a warhammer burning with golden flames stood like a deity from mythology creating the heavens and the earth.

With a swing of the hammer, a force akin to creation would cause a tremor in the void.

Every strike of his was flawless, each attack striking precisely at the weak points of the Civilization Devourer's avatar, its flaws.

Nothing in this world is without flaw, whether witchcraft or anything else. The Civilization Devourer is no exception; its defenses must have imperfections. These flaws would be insignificant normally, but amplified by Richard's abilities, they become weaknesses.

In the face of such formidable power, even the avatar of the Civilization Devourer had to temporarily avoid confrontation.

While attacking, he was covered by a layer of Gravity Barrier. This Gravity Barrier seemed ordinary but constantly deflected attacks from the Civilization Devourer's avatar at critical moments.

The Civilization Devourer clearly noticed Richard's abilities, and strategies to counter them flashed continually in its mind.

It knew this ability wasn't without limits. Probability is an ability concerning the fundamentals of the world, and if it were limitless, the Dominator could become a Ninth Level Creature the moment it obtained this power.

The Star Realm is endless, and anything has a probability.

Thus, the capacity to amplify probabilities must have its limits.

Richard could seemingly amplify probabilities without restraint now, but there must be some means hidden behind it.

And those means must come at a heavy cost.

As long as it could prolong the confrontation until Richard couldn't sustain such consumption, it would achieve victory.

Suddenly, Richard abruptly hurled the Hammer of Creation in his hand. The hammer, burning with Miracle Fire, instantly pierced through the body of one of the Civilization Devourers.

Simultaneously, the Gravity Barrier on him shattered under an attack.

This was unprecedented.

Richard's expression changed as he attempted to reorganize his defense, but his speed couldn't match the methods of the Civilization Devourer.

Two avatars of the Civilization Devourer seized these flaws, runes flashing on their bodies—those blasphemous runes that could drive a World Master to madness with a glance.

Yet on the Civilization Devourer, these runes were verbose and nearly infinite.

Deep crimson thorns grew from their hands, ignoring the hastily assembled defenses Richard brought up, winding around him like chains.

Spikes pierced into Richard's body, continually siphoning energy from within him.

Simultaneously, waves of blasphemous whispers echoed incessantly in Richard's ears. These whispers disrupted his mind, preventing him from making correct judgments, even hindering his ability to think.

"Damn it!"

Richard's expression changed sharply, and he immediately tried to break free of this restraint. But the Civilization Devourer was evidently prepared for this; the whispers in Richard's ear suddenly intensified, nearly instantaneously breaching his mental defenses.

This war was not only for Richard to learn but also for the Civilization Devourer. The Civilization Devourer had already seen Richard's weakness—his spirit.

Richard's soul had not transcended limits, and his young age meant he lacked strong mental defenses—an indomitable will.

If It wanted to achieve Its goals, It had to target the mind.

And Its thoughts were undoubtedly correct; Richard was powerless to shake them off under their tactics.

Even though these thorns were, to him, things he could casually break free from.

The blasphemous runes surged along the thorns toward Richard's body. The Civilization Devourer needed to seal Richard, to delay time,

and the Hammer of Creation, tossed by Richard, was also captured by them—Civilization Treasures were treasures to the Civilization Devourer as well.

If It could taint and devour it, It would gain all the abilities of the Civilization Treasure.

They formed a triangle, connected by chains. The blasphemous runes continually surged from them, as if a hundred thousand choruses echoed in the void.

Richard's fate seemed sealed…

Just as the sealing was about to be completed, the Miracle Fire suddenly reignited on the Hammer of Creation.

But this time. The flames burned endlessly, like a wildfire, instantly engulfing the three avatars entirely.

This process lasted just a moment, and before the Civilization Devourer even reacted, the flames covered them.

A furnace inscribed with molten gold runes flickered within the Hammer of Creation.

Simultaneously, Richard's body jolted, causing the deep crimson thorns to shatter piece by piece.

His gaze cleared, and a hint of mockery appeared on his face.

"Though you act like a machine, I know you're a greedy creature. You would never give up treasures at your fingertips."
