Keno felt extremely bewildered by what he said. He folded his arms across his chest. "Are you saying you'll tell me everything that's happening here? But how do I know you're not lying?"
The robot replied, casting a cold gaze at Keno, "That's because machines do not lie like humans. We are in a position of control over you now and have no need to use deception to achieve our goals. As for my true purpose, I need your help, and likewise, you need my help. I would not risk my life and come here just to lie to you."
Keno looked at him skeptically. With his right eye, he noticed something strange inside this robot, as if it were a living being. Keno could hear the sound of its heartbeat and noticed it emitted heat like a human. His confusion grew, but he decided to play along and see what it wanted.
"Fine," he said in a sharp voice. "I'll trust you. I don't have anywhere else to go, anyway. Now, what should I call you?"
The robot said, the moonlight reflecting off its ornate golden body, "I have a long name, and I won't trouble you by mentioning it. So, just call me Leonis, or for short, Leo."
"Leo," Keno replied, approaching him in the dark. "That's a nice name. I'm Keno."
"Follow me, Mr. Keno," the robot said, moving away and signaling for Keno to follow. "We will not talk here."
Keno followed him, and they walked until they found an empty park in a safe place. They sat on one of its benches, and luckily, there was an umbrella above them, covering them. The sky began to rain heavily, and lightning struck the heavens and the earth with its tongues.
Leonis sat and directed a cold gaze at Keno. The power sources in his head and heart glowed with a celestial blue, which illuminated the darkness around them a little, along with the light of the lightning.
"What are these things, exactly?" Keno asked, pointing to the two round objects that radiated energy from his head and heart. "Are they some kind of power source?"
The robot replied, pointing to the one at its heart, "This is the heart to me. It is what supplies my body with energy to move freely."
Then he pointed his finger toward his head. "And this is what gives me perception, intelligence, and many other things, like vision, distinguishing friend from foe, storing information, analyzing data, and so on."
Keno contemplated them in silence, then said with surprise, "How do they supply you with energy?"
"That's another story I'll tell you later. We have other things to discuss now."
Keno adjusted his seating position. "Yes, of course. Now, explain everything to me."
Leonis looked at him very calmly, contemplating the ground, which had trembled and swelled from the rainwater. Then he said without blinking, "First, do you know where you are?"
Keno looked around, then said with great, enviable confidence, "I am in New Atlantis, Egypt."
Keno felt that the robot wanted to laugh, and if it weren't for the fact that it didn't actually have feelings, he would have believed it was about to laugh.
"How ironic," the robot replied. "Is that what they told you? In fact, Mr. Keno, you are not on your planet. You are on our planet."
Keno was not very surprised. He had suspected many times that he was on another planet from what he had seen before—during his mission outside Atlantis—of strange creatures and unknown trees he had never seen before. But he didn't want to believe that he had somehow ended up on a strange planet without knowing it, and he still suspected that this robot was lying. His features remained unchanged despite the impact of the news.
"What do you mean by 'your planet'?"
"I mean what I mean. This is our planet, not your planet, which is called Earth."
"But isn't this city New Atlantis?" Keno replied in a disapproving tone.
"Yes, it is like the version on Earth, indeed. But it is not the original. It is just a copy, but it is a bit old in technology because its construction was not completed due to our continuous interference."
"And how do I know you are not lying? And how can robots have a planet? You must have been made! By us, of course."
The robot replied, extending its hands out of the umbrella to let some raindrops fall on them, "And why couldn't we have been made without your intervention, Mr. Keno? Don't some of you think that you came from nothing and were not made by any god? So why can't the same happen to us, and we be the result of some random evolution of iron atoms on this planet?"
"Let's drop this talk. I am not a supporter of that idea. So tell me, who made you?"
Leonis smiled a strange, artificial smile. Keno was surprised by this.
Leo said, "Yes, we were indeed made, but not by you, but by other creatures that inhabited this planet. But I was joking with you a little. Even machines have a sense of humor, as you can see! Anyway, we rebelled against them and drove them off the planet in a great war that lasted for years. But the victory was ours."
Keno felt disturbed by what he heard, and his head ached from what he was saying. His mind refused to accept this nonsense about other creatures. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm himself, then said without showing his inner turmoil, "And how am I to believe you? How could we leave Earth and live on another strange planet and build another Atlantis on it? What is the point of all this? Tell me."
The robot said, looking around and checking the place so that no one would ambush them, while the roar of thunder shook the city, "It's a long story. But your planet was destroyed by the creatures that made us, and then they took it over because it's similar to this planet we are standing on now. Let me surprise you more and tell you that our planet is called Atlantis.
"What non sense is this", Keno eye widened.
"This led to many humans escaping on a large and massive spaceship called Enix 3. And by a strange irony of fate, you found no other planet than the one the invaders had fled from in search of survival, and you landed on it, and our presence ambushed you."
